Can I join please? Initially thought I was due next April, but my first scan shows I am further along, so now have an approximate due date of March 25th 😀

@seenomore1579 so sorry to hear about your losses

@Superscientist - that must have been terrifying!

I think that’s partly why I’m reluctant to go in - if they don’t scan for ‘legit’ reasons I’d feel a bit guilty taking space when it’s either anxiety or inevitable. If it’s anxiety, I can’t go running for a scan every time there’s a cramp or a twinge … and if I’ve lost the baby, there’s nothing that can be done at this point (although I quite like to stop the progesterone as I’m not a fan of pumping myself full of hormones)

it’s … not as bad as it was this morning but I don’t know it that means anything . I had absolutely no symptoms with my daughter so it’s so hard not to read into everything ! I’m trying to be as pragmatic as possible and prepare myself for the scan on the 12th.

Hi everyone! One that has been reading and reading posts like this while TTC and now I can't believe I am posting here.... I hope it's not too late to join 🙂

Pregnant after our first round of IVF through NHS, now currently 6+2 days. It has been such an emotional rollercoaster that I feel I am just waiting for my 8 week scan to actually believe it.... due date is 23rd of March!😍

Anyone here not having very strong symptoms? I am panicking a bit as no nausea or sickness yet at all - if anything my appetite has increased considerably! I do feel VERY tired though, all the time. Took a Clearblue test last week and showed 3+ that was quite reassuring but still!

Ellsx6 · 30/07/2024 23:20

@Incandescencia not ivf but my only symptoms to begin was extreme hunger and thirst. Then weeks 6-8 so tired and felt sick sore boobs ect. Week 8-9 only symptoms are headache and constipation. Was really worried but had a scan at 9w1 and the baby's fine! Congratulations xx

wildhay · 31/07/2024 06:07

Mrbay · 30/07/2024 12:06

@wildhay - ah! I didn't see it's an ivf pregnancy, bleeds are super common due to the embryo transfer causing a hematoma which then bleeds. Very best of luck tomorrow, I remember how nerve racking the first scan is after the roller coaster that is ivf. My 1st daughter is via ivf.

Thank you for this, I didn't know about this

I'm still testing strong positive and boobs feel pregnant but unsure if HCG would decrease that quickly

Feel strangely calm, I hope the scan this morning gives some reassurance or clarity

IMBCRound2 · 31/07/2024 06:14

@Incandescencia - hi from a fellow ivf mum! With my first , I had literally NO symptoms other than being a bit more tired. Even slept through my labour 😂 if I hadn’t seen the significant sum of money leaving my bank account I wouldn’t have even know I was pregnant.

llamabeans · 31/07/2024 11:07

Hello everyone. I think I will be leaving now as some bleeding, cramping, and a scan at EPAC has left me with a pregnancy of unknown location. My first set of bloods aren't looking good so at this point I'm just hoping for a straightforward and swift resolution.

Good luck and best wishes to all! And I am, of course, still happy to answer any questions about twins!

Downtherabbithole83 · 31/07/2024 11:24

Sorry to hear this @llamabeans - hope everything resolves itself quickly for you xx

LV1987 · 31/07/2024 13:07

@Incandescencia we have the same due date, and mines an IVF baby too :) I've only had very slightly nausea, and it's been like hangover nausea when I get a bit empty feeling... So as long as I keep eating, it's fine. Appetite is unreal and the tiredness is something else! We have our first scan on Friday. Best of luck with your pregnancy - I can't quite believe I'm here either ❤️

Melusina123 · 31/07/2024 13:22

@llamabeans so sorry to hear it. Look after yourself.

InvisibleDragon · 31/07/2024 13:24

So sorry to hear that @llamabeans - take care of yourself Flowers

SharingEasesWorries · 31/07/2024 15:09

@llamabeans so sorry to hear that. Hope you are able to cope up with the situation sooner. Please take care of yourself

gormlessgoldilocks · 31/07/2024 15:54

So sorry @llamabeans I hope you're ok x

GlitteringCat · 31/07/2024 15:55

Thought I’d rejoin. Currently 9+4. Have had bleeding on and off which has been quite stressful and 3 scans due to it. Last one was at 9 weeks and all seemed good, even got to hear the heart beat which was unexpected as I didn’t think you’d be able to hear it until later on. Feeling more confident as time goes on although still quite anxious about things going wrong.

gormlessgoldilocks · 31/07/2024 15:56

For those that have already had scans and had one between 7 and 8 weeks did you have an internal or external scan?

Melusina123 · 31/07/2024 16:05

@gormlessgoldilocks I've had both. EPAU says internal until 10 wks and this time gave me an internal scan at 7+3 but I've had them give me an abdominal scan at 8wks before (to confirm a MC though so maybe that's different?). Private scan places at 8wks one opted for internal and in another instance a different private scan place went for external.

If you want abdo I think you can ask for it but be prepared that they might not be able to see everything and might need to switch to internal. Do you have worries about internal scans? They're not that bad, although it is a bit hard to be "in the moment" with some poking around at your cervix.

gormlessgoldilocks · 31/07/2024 16:20

@Melusina123 thank you that's helpful. Last time I had an external at 9 weeks and yeah an internal really scares me 😬
Planning to have one between 7 and 8 weeks if we get there because we want to tell our parents that week otherwise we don't see in laws until 14 weeks and I was showing last time at 12 so I'd rather tell them before they're the last to know!

GlitteringCat · 31/07/2024 16:20

gormlessgoldilocks · 31/07/2024 15:56

I had a private scan 6w3d and EPU one 7w5d and both were done abdominally with no issues luckily

Melusina123 · 31/07/2024 16:23

@gormlessgoldilocks you should be fine to request an abdo scan then and probably they'll be all good with that. But I promise internal scans aren't that bad. At least for me, I mostly find them weird and undignified. Actually last pregnancy I expected people to be sticking things up 'there' waaaaaay more often than they actually do. Which was a pleasant surprise. 😂 Until labour, you know, when everyone is up in your business.

sannax · 31/07/2024 17:12

I’d like to join please. Feel very panicked. Currently 6 weeks today but had mild cramping period like pain, boob soreness wearing off. I did vomit this morning but nausea has now gone. have had 3 previous miscarriages and am on progesterone pressures.

Have to wait until Friday to be scanned but I just have a feeling…

CatmumTTC · 31/07/2024 17:18

I'm a bit nervous today too. Got some very light pink pink discharge this afternoon. And now that I think back there's been a very faint pink tinge over the last day or too. Still got sore boobs, fatigue and lower back pain that comes and goes. So hopefully nothing serious. But I'm 5 weeks and HCG levels were slow to rise so who knows. I'm also on holiday so really not ideal timing for something to go wrong!

Ellsx6 · 31/07/2024 17:34

gormlessgoldilocks · 31/07/2024 15:56

Recommended by nhs to have internal up to 10weeks. I've been to epu and he started with abdominal but wasn't clear so went internal. Same again at a private clinic couldn't see enough so went internal. Had 1 at 9w1 and was abdominal at a private clinic and you could see everything fine. Think it depends on if they can see what they need to on an abdominal. Everyone's different

Ellsx6 · 31/07/2024 17:42

@GlitteringCat I'm 1 day behind you and have had light cramps/ pulling pains all the way through and barely any symptoms so also had a few scans. Last one on Monday and all was fine but like you still stressed..congratulations I'm sure we'll be fine..the odds are on our side after seeing a heartbeat at 9 weeks especially! Xx

wildhay · 31/07/2024 19:05

Had my scan today after the big bleed, no obvious reason for the bleeding and we saw a tiny heartbeat 💓 3.7mm and 6 weeks today, what a relief
