Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

@Lemonbalm8 my EPU (NHS Forth Valley in Scotland) doesn't answer its phone at all. It rings a couple of times and then goes to message. You have to leave a voicemail and then someone calls you back. Call back times in my experience have ranged from 10 minutes to 5 hours! There is a number on the message to call the ward though if it's an emergency. Can imagine waiting on hold for 45 minutes must be so annoying! Maybe it is just being in London it's so busy because of the volume of people xx

purplecolouroffunk · 26/06/2024 15:09

@Lemonbalm8 I’m the same as Cosmic. I’m NHS Lothian and most of the time it rings out and you leave a message. I got a call back after about 30 mins this morning.

Sorry you struggled Lemon! 45 mins is a long time. Thank god they called you back!

Thanks for your kind words everyone 🄰 feeling relieved that little one is in the right place but don’t feel out of the woods yet.

@Lemonbalm8 congrats on the 3+ and that line is looking amazing!

Sorry EPU won’t see you @purplecolouroffunk hopefully you can get an early scan booked in privately to give you a bit of reassurance. Even at 7 weeks they should hopefully see a heartbeat šŸ¤ž

@CosmicLove no they didn’t give any explanation for the spotting, just said it can be normal. It has pretty much stopped now thankfully šŸ¤ž

MrsB2019x · 26/06/2024 17:09

Is anyone tracking pregnancy on an app yet? I’m too nervous to!!

purplecolouroffunk · 26/06/2024 17:33

@MrsB2019x I was wondering if 7 weeks would be long enough but I suppose will probably see more at 8. But also then it just gives me a week longer to assume everything is okay when it potentially might not be. Gahh it’s so hard to get the balance right.

I switched my Flo app to pregnancy mode the other day but did it kind of hesitantly. I wish there was a way to make it a bit more subtle, so I didn’t have that big visualisation of the size thing 😐

Hiya everyone, jumping on the threadšŸ‘‹šŸ¼ I had a mc at the end of March this year, at 8 weeks but measuring smaller. I saw a heartbeat at the EPU at 6 weeks, then saw none 2 weeks later.

I found out on Monday this week that I'm pregnant again, and I am hoping and praying that this one sticks! My due date will be 2nd March.

I'm trying my best to take everything day by day. Has anyone had different symptoms to the first time? I haven't had sore boobs, just sensitive, every now and then. They were really sore last time and got bigger even early on.

Congratulations to you all tooā¤ļø

Beks96 · 26/06/2024 18:36

@MrsB2019x amazing news that everything is in the right place and the scan went well! That is so great to see, and a good sign šŸ™šŸ¼

purplecolouroffunk · 26/06/2024 18:37

Hi @Beks96, lovely to see you over here! And I’m so sorry to hear your full story šŸ’œ

My due date is 1 March so we’re super close! I’m exactly the same as you - last time my boobs were so sore and from about 6dpo they were noticeably a lot bigger. I don’t have that this time! They’re starting to get a little tender now and I seem to get shooting pains in my nipples from time to time, but that’s about it. Funny isn’t it!

OP posts:
Beks96 · 26/06/2024 18:45

@purplecolouroffunk our dates are very close!

I am going to try and stay clear from google as the sore boobs is the first thing you see for symptoms. However every pregnancy is different for sure.

I'm very similar to you, my boobs were telling me I was pregnant whereas this time it was constipation and had cramps a week before my period.

I definitely have shooting pains in my nipples and kind of an itch sometimes. The pains in my boobs I would say are more sudden pains than an ache all the time.

I also switched my Flo to pregnancy mode but almost don't wanna go on it and might actually mute the notifications!

CosmicLove · 26/06/2024 19:08

Welcome @Beks96 and congratulations on your BFP! ā¤ļø

Beks96 · 26/06/2024 19:21

@CosmicLove thank you so muchā¤ļø

Is anyone wanting to leave it a while before registering with the hospital etc? I want to leave it as long as possible but I also don't want to miss out on important tests etc...

Yes I'm not doing it straight away. I did it immediately when I found it last time and really regretted it when things went wrong. I've got a scan next Thursday with EPU as I've been spotting for the past 6 days so if that goes well, I might register after that šŸ¤žxx

Beks96 · 26/06/2024 19:35

@CosmicLove I'm the same, I did it straight away. That sounds like a good plan, earmarking the register for after the scan. I hope everything goes well for you next Thursdayā¤ļø

I'd like to hold off as long as I'm able to but we'll see how things go, day at a time!

Lollypop25 · 26/06/2024 19:36

Hi everyone
I hope you don't mind me popping in, having a hard time at the moment
I'm currently 15w4d following a missed miscarriage in January, both were IVF pregnancies
We have a private scan this weekend to find out the sex and my husband is so excited but I can't help but dread the news that something is wrong
Every scan is the same, instead of being excited to see my baby I feel sick and sad, then even more sad that like many of you I don't get to have a 'normal' pregnancy where I am just excited
I've had horrendous morning sickness and been put on different medications to keep food down and this evening I realised I forgot my lunch time dose and feel ok so now I'm worried my symptoms are lessening
All in all just a complete mind f and I just wish I could fast forward to a baby in my arms
Thanks for anyone that got this far for hearing me out! Sending you all lots and lots of love during this time xxx

Beks96 · 26/06/2024 19:45

@Lollypop25 congratulations! I completely understand why you would feel that sense of dread. I too have anxiety towards the scans and would ideally not want to go to any of them until as late as possible. Just for the same feeling you're described.

Your feelings are so valid, it's natural to yearn for the pregnancies you've seen so many people experience. I always think that some people have it so 'easy' or that's what you think from social media etc.

I'm terrible for symptom checking and I'm trying my best to stay off the internet, and just stick to real stories. Easier said than done, but I'd definitely try not to worry about the sickness as all symptoms can come and go. I've heard that sickness can go away in the second trimester as well.

That being said, the whole thing is a complete and utter mind f*, I agree. It's exhausting as well! Huge well done for making it so far, I bet it hasn't been easy, you are doing so well xx

purplecolouroffunk · 26/06/2024 19:57

@Beks96 I’m the same! Sort of random boob pain and it’s actually what caused me to test. Have had the itchy thing too. I Googled it and was able to draw absolutely no conclusions šŸ˜‚

I think I’ll maybe wait until next week to register. I don’t want to leave it too late but also don’t plan on having a scan til 8 weeks so sadly think I’ll need to register before a scan šŸ˜ž

Welcome @Lollypop25! I’m so sorry to hear about your previous loss and the anxieties it’s been causing you with this pregnancy šŸ’œ

Just think though - you’ve made it to 15 weeks and that's amazing! The odds are so in your favour for a healthy pregnancy and baby. I know that doesn’t help to hear, but you’re doing incredibly well. Just keep thinking the good thoughts šŸ’œ

@Beks96 @purplecolouroffunk thank you both for being so kind, I know none of us want to be here but it's nice to feel like you aren't alone

Definitely best to stay off Google as much as possible (do as I say not as I do!)

Regarding registering, not sure about your hospital but mine was booked up for scans pretty early on and they'll want you to do your bloodtest prior to your booking app. After my MC the early pregnancy unit took care of updating everyone including my GP so that I didn't need to which was a massive blessing

CosmicLove · 26/06/2024 20:04

Welcome to @Lollypop25 and so sorry to for your previous loss. Making it to 15 weeks now though - that's amazing and totally agree with Purple that odds on a very good outcome are very high at this stage. Also to echo what Beks said about sickness and nausea usually abating in second trimester. Thats absolutely right. Mine lifted around 13 weeks with my DD and I resumed normality again, so it's perfectly feasible that yours would actually be a lot better by now anyway, and definitely not necessarily a bad sign. I know how hard it is though and I am worrying constantly about everything.
Keep going ā¤ļø

purplecolouroffunk · 26/06/2024 20:07

@Lollypop25 yes that’s a good point. I asked my mum call to cancel my midwife appointments as I couldn’t face it and didn’t want to put my partner through it either. They said the appointments had already been cancelled which I thought was nice to take the weight off a bit.

My EPU were supposed to take over that side of things when I had my MMC in April but I still got a call on what would have been my booking appointment to ask if I could come in at 2pm instead of 1.30pm! I had to tell the midwife that sadly I'd had a miscarriage the week before so wouldn't be coming at all. Not very nice ā˜¹ļø

MrsB2019x · 26/06/2024 20:08

My Premom app has been bugging me for a week to switch over to pregnancy mode but I’ve been too nervous 😬 might do it tonight…

Welcome @Beks96 and tentative congrats šŸ’– I have no symptoms either, my boobs ache a little bit if I push them šŸ˜‚ I’ve been poking them a lot wondering why they don’t hurt!

Beks96 · 26/06/2024 20:12

@MrsB2019x thank you so much ā¤ļø it's reassuring to know that, makes me feel a lot more normal! They're a little bit fuller, if thatšŸ˜‚

MrsB2019x · 26/06/2024 20:13

Argh my phone didn’t refresh and missed loads of posts šŸ™„

Welcome @Lollypop25 and congratulations on making it to 15 weeks! That’s an amazing achievement šŸ’–

In terms of booking in, I think I’ll do it after my next scan at 6+6. With my MMC they were so busy and I had my booking appt at 10 weeks, and originally booked my scan in for 13+6 until I pushed for it to be moved to earlier. Hope they’re not as busy now 🄓

Lemonbalm8 · 26/06/2024 20:14

Welcome @Beks96 and @Lollypop25 ! Gentle congratulations on the pregnancy.

Lollypop25 · 26/06/2024 20:14

Oh I am so sorry @CosmicLove that must have been so incredibly hard.

On the nausea point you're all absolutely right it's just that I had assumed it lifting after 12 weeks and in fact it's been worse than ever since then but tonight I feel pretty ok for the first time since about 5 weeks so naturally my mind is racing. Staying off Google tho! He is not my friend!

Only 3 more sleeps to get through until my scan, booked the earliest appointment they had too so I can get up and go and not have the full day of worry

My husband wants to go and do a mamas and papas personal shopping consult in the afternoon but I've told him I don't want to 'plan' anything until I know everything is ok

Feel guilty for robbing him of the excitement in that way to be honest
