Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

My EPU were supposed to take over that side of things when I had my MMC in April but I still got a call on what would have been my booking appointment to ask if I could come in at 2pm instead of 1.30pm! I had to tell the midwife that sadly I'd had a miscarriage the week before so wouldn't be coming at all. Not very nice ā˜¹ļø

Yes I also got calls after I miscarried about booking appointments and so on. Even at booking appointment that I thought was cancelled, I got a call asking how things are going. It was heartbreaking šŸ˜”

@Lollypop25 you definitely have done the right thing to be open with your husband about what your preference is and your feelings. To avoid any miscommunication and upset.

You shouldn't do anything you're not comfortable with. He can wait a little bit more time for that. The most important thing is that you feel happy and comfortable that it's the right time ā¤ļø

I'm sure you would wait for him if he was feeling this way too. There will come a point where you're both on the same vibe about it all xx

Welcome @Beks96 and @Lollypop25 ! Gentle congratulations on the pregnancy.

@Lemonbalm8 Thank you lovely ā¤ļø

Lemonbalm8 · 26/06/2024 20:26

I went ahead with self referring myself as it gets very busy here. It's a new hospital for me this time, so also I figured it might take some time for notes to get exchanged between hospitals but I don't have a lot of trust there is good information flow in the nhs.
Sorry to ask a morbid question. I've never had MC tested, is that something nhs can do to understand if chromosome abnormality caused it or something else? In some way, if it happens again, I would want someone to give me answers after 4 times... though fully understand getting answers is always hard and often unexplained.

Lemonbalm8 · 26/06/2024 20:33

@Lollypop25 like Beks said, there is always going to be a good time to do shopping when you're ready. With my son, I hadn't experienced a loss before him but was still anxious, so told my work (at the time I joined after I found out I got pregnant) at 20 week and shopping only when I was 30 weeks or even later. This time, we will also do the same, though probably shopping will be not as fun as there is loads to reuse.

Lemonbalm8 · 26/06/2024 20:36

So I've not had a single symptom since dpo 9, when I had a faint line, it feels like a lifetime until today... Just got a little bit of bubbling in the belly this evening. Obviously I don't relish being on the toilet all day, but this is my fear this time around not having any symptoms (I've had way more symptoms with all my pregnancies), so something happening seems nice šŸ™‚ feel like it's been a good day for me today, I just have to stay positive somehow as it's so easy for me to spiral.

Welcome @Beks96 @Lollypop25. I’m really sorry to read your stories, but congrats on your pregnancies.

@Lemonbalm8 when I was had my MVA I asked if they could test the miscarriage. They said they don’t do it as standard until you’ve had 3 miscarriages and they baby needs to be at least 6 or 7 weeks I think.

I’m not sure when I’ll refer. I didn’t for the last pregnancy as I didn’t want to jinx it, but guess that didn’t work in my favour. I live in south west London and the hospitals get so booked up here it’s nuts so thinking maybe I should as it won’t change the outcome either way.

I'm also in London šŸ‘‹šŸ», I'm at kings in the south east. It looks so busy that I thought I should do it earlier, but actually I got my booking appointment few days later just on week 8 on the dot and referral to fetal medicine on week 10 (I need more scans as I go further - if I go further), so it actually happened quicker than I thought. I haven't got 12-13 week scan yet. So while it might be busy, I'm sure you can wait until you're "ready" šŸ’š

Mommabear96 · 26/06/2024 20:52

@Beks96 welcome! Sorry to hear about your lossšŸ’• I’m also close to your due date at 6th March!

and yes I’m waiting a while to fill out the maternity referral and book the booking in appointment. When I fell pregnant in March I registered at 5 weeks then had my MC a week later so think this time I’m going to wait til 7-8 weeks to register.

Hopefully all us girls will have successful, smooth pregnancies this time though!!
sending positive vibes and sticky bean baby dust to all🄰✨✨✨

Lemonbalm8 · 26/06/2024 20:58

@Mommabear96 yes I hope it's our time this time for all of us šŸ™šŸ» šŸ’—

purplecolouroffunk · 26/06/2024 22:42

@Lemonbalm8 it is unnerving not having symptoms isn’t it? I didn’t really have any last time either apart from big sore boobs. But even they are less sore or big this time round.

Glad to hear you’ve felt okay today. I’ve had a positive day too. I was in bits at bed last night, I couldn’t stop crying just thinking that everything is already destined to go wrong so what’s the point. But feel much better today. So funny how quickly your outlook can change from one day to the next.

Morning ladies, this progression is looking good right? 9dpo - 14dpo (today) šŸ’• I’m real bad for testing loads but now it’s a good dark line I guess I’ll stop in a couple days aha🫣

Symptoms so far have been extreme tiredness😩, super hungry, possibly a few light waves of nausea and maybe slightly fuller but not painful boobs. Didn’t get too sick with my last so hoping it’s the same this time!šŸ¤žšŸ»

not sure if anyone’s mentioned on here yet but is this everyone TTC their 1st or does anyone else have any kids?
my boy is nearly 2🄰

@Mommabear96 your line progression is looking great! I'm cd7 today and still testing! I got a good one this morning - the first one where my test line has been a tiny bit darker than control line. I think I'll do one more tomorrow and the CB digital on Saturday. And then I'll try to leave it there! I have a wee girl who is 18 months so this would be #2 for me ā¤ļø

CosmicLove · 27/06/2024 10:19

@Mommabear96 and I've also been feeling very hungry yesterday and today too!

Mommabear96 · 27/06/2024 10:27

@CosmicLove eeee that’s a great line being darker than the control now!

aw it’s exciting isn’t it, obviously I was excited to have my 1st but think it’ll be even better this time getting to give my little boy a sibling I know he’s going to love it 🄹🄰

It really is exciting but I'm trying to temper my excitement. My second pregnancy I was so excited and thought ahead constantly about age difference and what DD's birthday / Christmas would be like with a newborn etc. I'm not allowing myself to do that (much) this time in case it ends badly too. Hopefully I'll relax a bit after 12 week scan but that seems like an eternity away just now 😰

Lemonbalm8 · 27/06/2024 10:44

Great lines this morning @CosmicLove @Mommabear96! Ditto on this much wanted sibling for our little ones. He did say recently that he wants to take care of his brother AND sister 🧐 I think he is learning this from his friends at nursery who have brothers and sisters, rather than realizing about an actual baby.

Just turned 3 šŸ˜

Beks96 · 27/06/2024 11:01

Great progression pics on the strips ā¤ļø strong lines! Mine was very faint when I tested but I drink a lot of water and it wasn't my first wee What brand of strips do people use to test their HCG?

Still similar symptoms, not many, but definitely more hungry and gassy toošŸ˜‚

This will be our first child, been trying for just under 3 years, not very strictly though with ovulation dates and tests etc. I think I ovulate a bit later than most people, not sure if it's a bad thing but super grateful for conceiving twice now as it took some time for us.

Hope everyone's doing good todayFlowers

Mommabear96 · 27/06/2024 11:17

@Beks96 I use the Easy@home cheapy strips, they’ve always detected super early and found them really reliable. (40 strips for Ā£15)
Then for a proper test (not strip) I use these babyplan ones, they’re also really sensitive and and good, similar to the first response ones but cheaper! A pack of 5 of those on Amazon is Ā£12🄰

Beks96 · 27/06/2024 11:21

@Mommabear96 thank you so much lovely, I will have a nosey. I tend to get the cheapest 'freedom' ones I can find in Tesco but they're not good at all I don't think xx

MrsB2019x · 27/06/2024 12:22

@Beks96 Second vote for Easy at Home, always done the job for me!

Lines are looking amazing @CosmicLove @Mommabear96 šŸ˜šŸ˜

My only symptom is hideous acne. I had a huge spot on my face the other day and my daughter said ā€œthat looks like a grape Mummyā€ 😩🤣 other than that nothing. I don’t feel pregnant at all!
