BFP after recent loss

Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

I also don't have badger notes. I have something called MyChart which is browser based and a bit tricky to login. In any case, I rarely go there.
How's everyone doing today?

After feeling ropey yesterday my symptoms have buggered off today. No sore boobs, nothing. So that’s set off the anxiety! How are you doing?

Rockyslife · 18/07/2024 11:00

I’ve taken the appointment for today, every time I fall pregnant I always have a very close family member or best friend also pregnant and each time I find out I’ve always lost mine. Obviously it’s science and has nothing to do with anything but I am so triggered by these things. I’m adamant it’ll be bad news today and I feel sick as a dog at the thought of going through this all over again. I should be around 9 weeks 2 days

CosmicLove · 18/07/2024 12:39

@purplecolouroffunk yes we have Badger Notes here. I used it when I had my daughter and it was really nice to see all your stuff in one place. Not the most sophisticated app to navigate tbh but that was 2022 so might be better now! I'm also surprised at how good I feel. I should be 8 weeks tomorrow and I'm definitely having little spells of nausea particularly first thing in the morning, and I'm slightly off my food but that's about it. It's so strange compared to how sick I was in my previous two pregnancies. I have a scan a week today when we're back from holiday and just hoping beyond hope that everything will be okay. I have no reason to think otherwise so need to try and think positively!

@Rockyslife all the best for your scan lovely. When you feel ready to update us, we're here for you ā¤ļø

MrsB2019x · 18/07/2024 12:54

Wishing you all the best for today @Rockyslife 🩷

jellyfish2 · 18/07/2024 13:14

@Rockyslife hope your scan goes well šŸ’ž

purplecolouroffunk · 18/07/2024 13:51

Thinking of you @Rockyslife and sending good vibes šŸ’œ

@CosmicLove no way! I’ll need to check it out. Do they give you a login for it or something? I’m basically the same - should be 7+6 tomorrow and have been expecting to feel more nauseous. Although saying that I think today is the worst I’ve felt!

purplecolouroffunk · 18/07/2024 16:54

Anyone else been cramping recently (7+5)? I've had sort of low level cramps all day, a bit like the feeling when my period is on its way. Trying not to be too phased by it cause think it's quite normal? Not sore enough for painkillers, and no blood or anything.

I’m out and I got through it. They were 45 mins late and it sent me stir crazy, got into my head that I was minutes from finding out it was all over, got into the room had a panic attack started frantically crying ( I think I just have ptsd from it all) I lay there absolutely petrified with my top covering my eyes, straight away she found a heart beat and I just cried, I just can’t keep feeling like this so I am going to try so hard to not panic. My next scan will now be my 12 week scan in 2 and a half weeks time. I do not know how I’m going to hang on that long. But she’s advised me to stop having scans as it’s not good for baby having them so often, so I guess I have to be brave. Roll on august. How are you all doing?

jellyfish2 · 18/07/2024 17:33

@Rockyslife aw I'm so pleased to see your update! I've been checking all day 🄰 that's such great news. Hopefully that will ease your anxiety now. What are you measuring? The odds are definitely in your favour now so try to think positively 🩷

Rockyslife · 18/07/2024 17:48

@jellyfish2 so I am measuring 22mm which was 9 weeks 1 day. I guess I have to see it as I haven’t ever gotten this far so maybe this one is a viable baby. I can only try and be positive from now on x

MrsB2019x · 18/07/2024 17:54

Amazing news @Rockyslife I’m so, so pleased for you šŸ’™ maybe mention to your midwife you’re struggling with the anxiety of it all, she might be able to put some support in place xx

Lemonbalm8 · 18/07/2024 18:08

@Rockyslife great news! Hope you can keep calm until the next scan, this is really promising and we can only try to keep positive!

purplecolouroffunk · 18/07/2024 18:34

Ahh @Rockyslife so so happy to hear this!! What fantastic news. The odds are so in your favour after seeing a heartbeat at 9 weeks šŸ’œ Has it helped to reassure you a bit for now? Definitely hang on to this feeling if you can, it’s incredibly positive news that everything is looking great 😊

OP posts:
Rockyslife · 18/07/2024 18:40

@purplecolouroffunk i think I might be able to relax a little now I have seen a heart beat at 9 weeks. I’ve never got this far without any complications so I am trying to see that as a positive thing, I’m awful for being cruel to myself I always look at the possibilities rather than the positives but I guess that’s from having 3 miscarriages isn’t it. But I’m praying that 9 weeks the baby may be viable and healthy. I’m contemplating whether to go the nipt testing private which you can have from 10 weeks private but then I don’t know whether I want more stress to be honest I would like to just get to 12 weeks.

ELJ1502 · 18/07/2024 20:08

@Rockyslife such good news with the scan. Did you get a picture? Maybe it’s something can keep referring back to - to help you focus on the good you’ve seen.

@MrsB2019x My appointment letter came a few days after the badger notes invite. I assume it’s set up when they send out the letter. It was then on badger notes straight away

CosmicLove · 18/07/2024 21:15

@Rockyslife wonderful news, so pleased for you ā¤ļø

Needing a bit of a hand hold ladies. I'm in Spain and have started spotting again. It started dark brown and is now lightening to brownish pink. I'm obviously terrified but being abroad is increasing the anxiety no end. Any reassurance from sensible people would be much appreciated as I'm feeling like I'm going crazy with this worry šŸ˜” xx

Rockyslife · 18/07/2024 21:55

A little bit weird but so good šŸ˜‚ all in moderation

MrsB2019x · 18/07/2024 22:57

It’s balanced @Rockyslife you’re all good! You’re doing much better than me haha, the beige life has got me good.

@CosmicLove Oh sweet I hope you’re okay. They found a SCH at your last scan right? So that’s probably just up to its old tricks and doing what SCHs do. Doesn’t make it any less worrying but it’s an explanation. Sending you lots of positive relaxation vibes for the rest of your holiday 🩷

Persipan · 19/07/2024 05:44

Ugh it’s so annoying they they insist on going by LMP when you have more accurate info
Nowadays I just lie about when my LMP was. I feel entirely justified in doing so because I have the ultimate accurate info (embryo transfer). To be fair they usually do go off the embryo transfer date but it helps things along if the LMP happens to magically align with it...

CosmicLove · 19/07/2024 07:10

Thank you @MrsB2019x
I didn't have SCH confirmed but it was one of the explanations they offered for why I had that heavy-ish red bleed on 4th July. If it was that, is it possible that it could cause more spotting down the line like this? I'm not having any cramps or anything and it's very light this morning. Nothing there when I wipe but if I press the tissue paper, I get a little spot of brownish pink.

When I started bleeding with my MMC in April, it became so heavy within 12 hours that I had to have emergency surgical evacuation and blood transfusion so I'm terrified of having that again. It was so traumatic. Especially in another country it would be all the more scary šŸ˜”

jellyfish2 · 19/07/2024 07:27

@CosmicLove hope you're ok 🩷 I can't offer anything but I hope it's cleared up for you. I can imagine how scary it must have been especially due to what you've been through before.

Beks96 · 19/07/2024 08:08

@CosmicLove it's possible for a SCH to cause more bleeding. I think from the way I understand it is your body has to replenish the blood that was lost, and in doing so you can experience a bit of bleeding.

I don't fully understand it but been doing some reading. I'm so sorry you've been spotting, I had some fresh red yesterday a few drops. I am also wiping clear but slight tinge of pink if I press a bit harder.

The sight of it is just horrible and traumatic but it's also very possible that it could be perfectly normal. Hope you're okay xx

CosmicLove · 19/07/2024 08:19

Thank you @jellyfish2 and @Beks96 ā¤ļø I'm sorry you've had some spotting too Beks. It really just puts you right back in that place of distress each time you see it doesn't it. Things were feeling a bit wet when we were out for dinner last night and I went to the toilet hoping it was just increased cm but fearing the worst, and it was brown. I just wish things could be straightforward.

My first pregnancy with DD was completely uneventful. No spotting, waited for 12 week scan as it wouldn't even have occurred to me to have an early one. It's so cruel that the pregnancy after loss is full of all the anxieties I've picked up from the MMC and is having these extra complications like bleeding and spotting. It just compounds the worry.

CosmicLove · 19/07/2024 08:23

Weird thought ladies. I started spotting just after BFP on 20th June, period due 21st June. Then I started spotting again last night, next period would've been due today. Has anyone ever heard of women spotting each month in early pregnancy when their period would have been due? I feel I've heard that somewhere in the past but can't find anything online about it. May of course be BS though and I'm probably just clutching at straws šŸ¤”
