Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

@Lemonbalm8 it makes your heart wrench doesn’t it. Literally felt sick as was not expecting it. I guess I’ll keep an eye and pray all is ok on Friday x

This is what I had after my scan (so sorry tmi but just sharing in case anyone else is worried/had the same and this pregnancy turns out to be a success šŸ¤žšŸ»). But during my scan, the doctor decided to also look at the cervix with a speculum. She reassured it's just to see if any irritations and cervix is healthy and closed, and it's not risky at all. I think this probably irritated everything and made me having this weird thing, I don't even know what to call it. But I've had now 2 scans where in the first I didn't have any symptoms and was sure something went wrong and the second I had bleeding + no symptoms, and they were ok. We have to remain positive and put more trust that it will be ok.

@jellyfish2 if you have a 10 week scan and you are dated 10 weeks, you'll have another one booked in at 12 weeks likely, usually they like to leave 2 weeks to measure growth. I think it's fine to roll up to 10 weeks and let them decide what needs to be done next.

@purplecolouroffunk It did reassure me to know that hematoma is there. But every spotting (still happens every time i go in the bathroom) freaks me out. Yesterday I got really triggered by a story and I just couldn't shake it off. I think I'll keep having scans when I want as I just don't know what else to do. I've given in to it šŸ˜‚

@Beks96 so true we need to listen to our own advice šŸ’š

I've just had a shooting pain, and followed by a bit of twinges. Did anyone have fanny daggers this early? I just can't relax, every day something new

purplecolouroffunk · 17/07/2024 16:07

@Beks96 12 weeks just seems SO far away doesn't it?! I hate to wish the time away but it's so hard not to. Yeah my boobs started to get sore at something mad like 6dpo last time and really convinced me I'd have a BFN this time round. I figured the same - maybe there were sort of trained a bit by last time?!

@Lemonbalm8 thank you for sharing your photo! And to @Rockyslife too. There were a couple of times when I was spotting that I wanted to send photos but I chickened out cause thought everyone would think it was TMI, even though I don't think that at all šŸ˜… Nothing is TMI here!

@Lemonbalm8 I think it's totally fine to have as many scans as you need šŸ’œ If they're helpful for you they are definitely a good avenue to make sure you're feeling reassured.

I've had some fanny daggers (lolll good name) too!! I was like what the hell is this and why is it happening so early šŸ˜‚ Have also had a bit of low level cramping every now and then too.

@Lemonbalm8 I know what you mean about the MC stories. I've had to stop reading things like that because it makes me so worried and feel too negative. I booked an 8 week scan weeks ago which is on Sunday. I mainly did that because I couldn't bear the thought of waiting to hear bad news at 12 weeks. I'm sorry about your spotting. Does knowing there's a hematoma reassure you about it a little?

@Beks96 I'm glad you have a scan booked in! I think that's a great idea delaying til 8 weeks. It's tough but I think the wait will be worth it :) Totally know what you mean about symptoms. Tbh mine have all been so low level, I keep wondering if they'll kick in more seriously soon. Sore/big boobs are the only real constant I have, and even then my boob pain does seem to fluctuate during the day.

@jellyfish2 oh that is quite an early 12 week scan! So did you ovulate quite late but they're saying they need to go by your LMP dates? That's so annoying. Is there any way they'll let you shift it back a bit? Sorry you're in that situation - the last thing you need to be worrying about is a discrepancy in dates! Gosh that's such a coincidence about your due date milestone too. I'd take that as a good sign :)

@Rockyslife I wouldn't worry, that looks very normal to me :) I think we get all sorts of CM during pregnancy. It's frustrating that there aren't any hard and fast rules! But I'd say try not to worry too much unless you're getting some heavy, red blood šŸ’œ

Yeah I ovulated about 11 days late and I did tell them all this but they said they need to go with LMP which is silly when I can pin point roughly when it happened. I'm thinking it's maybe good as it's an early scan so if it's bad news at least I won't be hanging around so long.

@Lemonbalm8 thanks, Ill just need to keep telling myself that I'm only 10 weeks and then it's a bonus getting another scan.

I had the fanny daggers the other day haha! I think it's normal, like a nerve thing!

Google asks me if I'm a robot every time I google something now, so I'm laying off it 🤣

I also had my bloods back so I'm meticulously checking they're all normal. They all seem to be higher numbers than last time, not sure if that's good or bad. I have a slightly higher Hct, not sure if that's good or bad but it's meant to decrease as pregnancy goes on. Someone take my phone away please šŸ˜‚šŸ™šŸ¼

I haven’t had fanny daggers but have had javelin arse and it really takes me by surprise every time 🤣

Nausea has ramped up a bit today. I have been able to carry on as normal but in terms of appetite I haven’t been able to eat very much and I just don’t fancy anything! It’s my birthday so should be having lots of nice treats but can’t bring myself to eat them!

jellyfish2 · 17/07/2024 18:41

@MrsB2019x happy birthday!! 🄳

Happy birthday lovely 🄳 hope you can have a nice night!

I had my first fanny daggers today while doing a presentation at work. Honestly took me by surprise 🫢 javelin arse šŸ˜‚ haven't had that yet

CosmicLove · 17/07/2024 18:52

@MrsB2019x haha javelin arse made me lol šŸ˜‚ love it šŸ˜† I've had that but didn't know that's what it was called!

Happy birthday Mrs B ā¤ļøšŸŒˆ here's to a happy year ahead for you xxxx

Ugh it’s so annoying they they insist on going by LMP when you have more accurate info šŸ™„

I ovulated 5 days late and actually just moved my LMP to be 2 weeks before my ovulation date. So basically told a white lie haha. Seems to be working out so far! šŸ˜…

OP posts:
jellyfish2 · 18/07/2024 05:45

@purplecolouroffunk I was going to do that but then I thought I suppose an earlier scan won't hurt because in my head it means if there's any issues I'll know sooner but if everything is ok I should get another scan. Means my midwife appointment is in two weeks! I'll speak to her about al my worries too and hopefully get some reassurance.

Rockyslife · 18/07/2024 08:02

I need a little bit of a helping hand. I’ve been absolutely fine up until this stage where I’m a little bit past my last scan of where they said baby had stop growing. I am absolutely petrified about tomorrow’s scan, they offered me an earlier one for today but then I’m like I want to stay pregnant for another day, but I am sending myself stir mental, but then also don’t want the scan because I am prettified of those dreaded words. There’s just not a lot of support for situations like these where you start to have panic attacks and trauma bought up from the last time. Do I ring for an earlier scan and get it done and over with or wait for tomorrow?

MrsB2019x · 18/07/2024 08:19

Thanks for all the birthday love ladies 😘

@Rockyslife Personally I’d take them up on the scan today, it’ll be a long wait until tomorrow. The outcome remains the same whether it’s today or tomorrow you find out, it’ll just put your mind at rest sooner. Best of luck whatever you choose 🩷

@jellyfish2 Can’t believe you have a midwife appt through already! I’m 8+1 and still nothing šŸ˜’

jellyfish2 · 18/07/2024 08:49

@Rockyslife I completely understand. That's how I feel about scans now. But I agree with MrsB I'd get it sooner if you can as it won't change the outcome and hopefully it'll ease your anxieties 🩷

@MrsB2019x that's strange, when did you self refer? My trust are quite good. I sent the email Monday and got a reply apologising for the delay even though it was yesterday they got back to me.

MrsB2019x · 18/07/2024 09:22

@jellyfish2 I referred at 5+6 😐 I had my invitation and passcode to set up BadgerNotes but no appointments as of yet. But when I logged on to BadgerNotes they have pushed my due date back 3 days to 1st March because I measured 3 days behind at my 6 week scan, so according to them I’m only 7+5. Even still, I would have thought I’d have an appt set by now even if for a couple of weeks time

purplecolouroffunk · 18/07/2024 09:48

@jellyfish2 yeah it’s a good point! And as someone else said they’ll probably have you back at 12 weeks anyway, so you’ll get an extra scan :)

@Rockyslife I’m so sorry you’re feeling anxious about it all. I agree with the others, I would take them up on their offer today if you can. It’s unlikely to change the outcome either way and it’s very possible you’ll get good news, and that means you’ll have less time to wait feeling anxious šŸ’œ How far along are you again?

@MrsB2019x so annoying you still don’t have your dates. In Scotland (or at least my NHS region) they just give you the dates over the phone when you phone to register. It’s great! What is BadgerNotes? I don’t think we have that in Scotland (@CosmicLove?)

BadgerNotes is an app for your electronic maternity record, they switched it over just before my DD was born in 2021 so you don’t carry round your notes folder anymore šŸ˜• everything is on there, appointments, scans, test results etc. It sounds good on paper but it’s actually really basic and a bit rubbish tbh!

Lemonbalm8 · 18/07/2024 10:07

I also don't have badger notes. I have something called MyChart which is browser based and a bit tricky to login. In any case, I rarely go there.
How's everyone doing today?

purplecolouroffunk · 18/07/2024 10:30

@MrsB2019x ahh gotcha. I don’t think we have anything like that here sadly. I have private heath insurance through work and I absolutely love that they have an app where you can see all your notes (sadly doesn’t cover pregnancy).

purplecolouroffunk · 18/07/2024 10:32

@Lemonbalm8 doing okay today. I woke up with some low level cramping which scared me a bit but it seems to have gone away.

I’m still surprised by my lack of symptoms - they’re all just really low level. Feel sort of queasy, tired, and run down but that’s about it.

How are you doing today?
