Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

@Lemonbalm8 it's so nice taking that time isn't it. I didn't use to be in to skin care at all but then got into the sort of ritualistic thing of it and now I love it. I don't think you need to use a million products like some people do but a nice cleanser, maybe a wee serum or oil, and a rich moisturiser does feel lovely.

Weleda is great too actually. I die for their Skin Food moisturiser in the winter when I get really dry.

Urgh I started spotting quite a bit. I am not cramping period like, but feeling heavy. I hope it's not the start of bad news 😫😩😢
After a week of no symptoms, I am worried, but I don't want to go for scan just yet. I want to hold out until next Friday, but maybe if it gets more, I may try to shift to Tue or wed.

CosmicLove · 12/07/2024 13:35

I'm sorry @Lemonbalm8 the ups and downs are just relentless. Bear in mind you had on and off spotting in the first couple of weeks and your scan was fine. It can be hormones causing spotting so not necessarily bad news. Try to take it easy physically if you can (although I know with a little one it's not always possible) and maybe call EPU on Monday if still spotting? Sending love ā¤ļø

Thank you. That's what I'm thinking, hopefully it settles over the weekend. I just took the afternoon off and am resting.

purplecolouroffunk · 12/07/2024 16:00

@Lemonbalm8 oh I’m sorry to hear the spotting is making you anxious. It’s definitely an unnerving feeling.

What Cosmic said is totally true - remember you’ve had some spotting and your scan was great! I totally understand the worry though.

I’m glad you’ve taken the afternoon off. Definitely rest up and watch some shit TV :)šŸ’œ

@Lemonbalm8 sorry to hear about the spotting, I hope it calms down for you and is just all the hormone changes.

purplecolouroffunk · 12/07/2024 16:32

Hope you’re doing okay @Rockyslife šŸ’œ

@Lemonbalm8 eugh I’m sorry you are spotting again. It’s natural to feel anxious, but it is so common in pregnancy. Not that any of that helps in the moment. Im glad you’ve taken the afternoon to rest, an afternoon on the sofa watching TV sounds exactly what you need and hopefully it will ease up šŸ¤žšŸ»

I called the EPU this morning in a bit of tizz over the big yolk sac and small gestational sac and they were very nice. At the end of the call he listed out all of the super common side effects of pregnancy and told me not to worry about any of them except from heavy red bleeding. The list was: cramping, pink and brown discharge, heavy discharge, headaches, dizziness, loss of balance, nausea, lack of nausea.

Rockyslife · 12/07/2024 17:18

Baby was ok, dating just right. It’s not helped massively but for now it’s nice to know that baby is still growing. I’ve never had a scan where the baby looks like a little baby and it’s nice to have that keep sake as it’s all I’ve ever wanted is an actual baby to look at. I just pray this is the one now 4 years of hell feels too long x

@Rockyslife That’s the best news, I’m so pleased for you šŸ’™ beautiful scan picture too!

@Lemonbalm8 The spotting doesn’t give you a break does it :( is it you who is also on progesterone? Apparently that can cause spotting because it irritates the cervix. But if you’re not ignore me šŸ˜‚ Hope you are okay x

purplecolouroffunk · 12/07/2024 17:28

Oh @Rockyslife I am so happy for you! Hang on to this news and feeling for as long as you can. You have a healthy 8 week old baby in there, and chances of a successful pregnancy are really increased now too. So so pleased for you and what a cute little bean šŸ’œ

@Bubbles19818 good idea on calling the EPU - I feel like speaking to them is always helpful.

Did they reassure you about the yolk sac size? That’s a handy list they gave you too!

Yes I'm taking progesterone for nearly 4 weeks now, but I haven't spotted for 2 weeks now... Still spotting, it's not heavy red bleeding but it's also different to the spotting I had at 4 weeks. It doesn't fill the liner but it's there and also every time I wipe.

The other reason could be coughing. I've been coughing a lot more yesterday due to the cold I caught earlier this week.

And then the worst reason which I can't even bear to think. Somehow in the light of no symptoms, add spotting to it, and I feel like an idiot for not thinking the obvious 😭
I think I'll move my scan from Friday to Wednesday, my head is all over the place... Not a good day for me.

Hope you all have a good weekend and no surprises!

Lemonbalm8 · 12/07/2024 17:46

@Rockyslife ah that's a lovely scan. Hope it gives a bit of calmness until next week. For now, everything is ok and there is no reason to think otherwise šŸ’š

CosmicLove · 12/07/2024 18:41

Wonderful news @Rockyslife ā¤ļø I hope you can focus on the positives to get you through to next week. Day by day xx

Persipan · 12/07/2024 19:44

Well nausea is certainly kicking in this week - which isn't much fun when you have a half-hour bus commute to and from work!

I somehow never find nausea reassuring - I usually throw up during my period, and I spew buckets when I have a miscarriage, so on some level I always perceive it as THIS IS THE END rather than being a good sign.

@purplecolouroffunk thank you so much, I really feel like this has to be our time. But still very reserved. Our last baby’s heart stopped beating at 8 weeks 3 days so I feel positive that I’ve got to that point. I guess it’s time to try and be hopefully because it’s can’t be good for us feeling this anxious 24/7 how are you doing? X

Rockyslife · 12/07/2024 21:08

@CosmicLove thank you lovely, I have ordered some paint by numbers so hopefully they’ll come soon and keep me busy! Times flying in general but I guess we’re constantly thinking about it aren’t we x

@Lemonbalm8 thank you. I have to think like that, the previous babies were very poorly and hopefully this baby is very healthy. Xx

Of course you'll never be free of that worry but I think deciding to shelf it whenever you feel you can do that, would be really good for you. You're absolutely right - it can't be good for you to be in that constant state of stress. Paint by numbers sounds like a great way to keep busy! And look after yourself. Do some nice things that you enjoy to feed your soul with positive feelings ā¤ļø xxx

I have now some red bleeding with small clots.

purplecolouroffunk · 12/07/2024 22:09

Oh @Lemonbalm8 I’m so sorry. Try not to panic if you can. How heavy is it? Is your EPU open on Saturdays? You could give them a call in the morning if so?

OP posts:
Bubbles19818 · 13/07/2024 07:08

@Lemonbalm8 I’m so sorry, that must be scary. How is everything this morning? I would definitely give your EPU a call this morning to see if they are are open for a reassurance scan.

CosmicLove · 13/07/2024 07:11

@Lemonbalm8 echoing what Bubbles and Purple have said - I would definitely call EPU and I'm sure they'll be happy to see you. I hope it's settled down overnight. Sending love ā¤ļø
