Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

I just realised my name is in the photo 🤣

Wouldn't even have noticed! So focussed on your healthy little bean. Honestly such good news 🄰 xxxx

MrsB2019x · 11/07/2024 12:08

Amazing news @torturedpoet13! 🄰 I measured 3 days behind at my scan and EPU told me anything within a week either side is okay. So, so happy for you 🌈

Bubbles19818 · 11/07/2024 12:58

Had my scan this morning and there was a little bean there measuring aprx 7 weeks and with a heartbeat. I was so scared before the scan I was pretty much in tears by the time she started, but luckily she told me very quickly that there was a heartbeat. Felt reassured for all of 5 minutes and back to feeling anxious and they didn’t tell me heartbeat rate and also from googling online it is measuring a bit behind at 9.5mm, I’ve seen online it should be 11mm /5 7 weeks. Eughhhh google is not my friend.

So so happy for you @torturedpoet13, your scan photo is so lovely and clear!

Bubbles19818 · 11/07/2024 13:01

Forgot to add my v blurry scan photo

Congratulations @Bubbles19818! I know it’s hard but please step away from Google, it’s not your friend. Your baby is alive and thriving 🌈 so happy for you xx

CosmicLove · 11/07/2024 13:06

Amazing news @Bubbles19818! Absolutely delighted for you 🩷🄰 xxx

torturedpoet13 · 11/07/2024 13:27

Thank you so much everyone and congratulations @Bubbles19818 !!! I know what you mean luckily my doctor turned the screen within a few seconds and I did have it abdominal at first and you could see the heartbeat then but he wanted a clearer pic so I had internal then!

@Bubbles19818 this is probably a stupid question but is that circle thing the sac or something? And if yes why don't I have one of those 🤣

CosmicLove · 11/07/2024 13:34

@Bubbles19818 @torturedpoet13 I also had the circle visible in my scan and yes it's the yolk sac. I was seeing other scan pics on here that it's not visible and wondering why mine was so clear! I think it might just be where it is in your uterus compared to the angle it's being viewed at? Xx

jellyfish2 · 11/07/2024 13:35

@torturedpoet13 @Bubbles19818 lovely news that both scans went well 🄰🄰

purplecolouroffunk · 11/07/2024 14:13

Ahh so happy to report good news for me too!

We saw a little pole measuring 6mm and dating at 6+2. By my dates I should be 6+5 but they weren't concerned at all about 3 days difference. We also saw a tiny heartbeat! What an amazing feeling it is to see that little bit of flashing light.

The EPU are really happy with the progress, said everything is looking brilliant so far, and have discharged me.

I know it doesn't mean things are destined to go well for the rest of the pregnancy, but for now I feel very reassured that things are going the right way. And I'm also a full week past where I got to last time, so that brings me some comfort too.

Sadly didn't get a pic :( I don't think my EPU offers them that early.

@torturedpoet13 and @Bubbles19818 so so hear happy to hear your good news today too!! šŸ’œšŸ’œ

They also found it so quickly and clearly with an abdominal scan which I was very thankful for! So didn't need to have that horrible wait where you go and pee before a TV scan.

@purplecolouroffunk yay I’m so happy for you, such happy news ā¤ļøā¤ļø

@torturedpoet13 @CosmicLove yes this is the yolk sac. Although mine is huge and I’ve made the mistake of googling it and apparently a large sac indicates with a 50% risk of miscarriage so I am not totally freaking out. My brain won’t give me any peace.

Lemonbalm8 · 11/07/2024 15:14

@Bubbles19818 do you know what the measurement of the sac was? They also mentioned mine is a bit big.
Also please don't worry about 1-2 mm difference at all. It's literally margin of error on measurement. It's about 1 day of difference.

Lemonbalm8 · 11/07/2024 15:17

@torturedpoet13 the yolk sac can also hide behind or in front of the baby and then it's hard to capture on the scan. It is very cute, like a balloon, but don't worry if you didn't see it 😊 I think at 10 weeks or so, placenta starts taking over the nutrition delivery šŸ’š

Bubbles19818 · 11/07/2024 15:37

@Lemonbalm8 - I know it’s just so hard not to worry. The first scan we had with our MMC the baby was measuring behind so it’s a trigger for me. And then I compare it to my healthy pregnancy where I always measured ahead. It’s hard not to create those comparisons.

They didn’t measure the yolk sac, I just think it looks proportionately huge in comparison to the embryo. If the embryo is 9.5mm then I’m sure the sac is about 6-7mm. Did they tell you to be concerned about the sac size and how big was yours? I find it so strange the discrepancies between what they measure and don’t across the EPUs.

If they didn't measure it, then please don't worry. It's impossible to measure from the photo, because the proportions could be wrong from that snapshot. I thought they mentioned something.
My sonographer measured it and said it's slightly bigger than average but still normal. So I didn't worry about it.
It is crazy how I felt so down today because of no symptoms, but I honestly felt like it was over not having symptoms at week 5. So I don't feel like my anxiety is helping me or is actually right, it's just this irrational crazy ball of energy that comes at the worst of times. I don't know if I trust it. I trust my body more. I hope you try to relax a bit and enjoy the good news. I've read some people regret not enjoying the pregnancy, so I've decided from now on, just enjoy if and when I get news otherwise. It will hurt just as much, and the shock doesn't worry me as much as regret later that I didn't enjoy this little baby. Whether the baby comes or not is really not in my control.

purplecolouroffunk · 11/07/2024 16:25

@Bubbles19818 try not to worry too much - I know that's so hard though. If they'd seen anything they thought looked abnormal in the yolk sac or discrepancies in size, they definitely would have mentioned it to you. Try to step away from Google if you can šŸ’œSo so hard though and I need to take my own advice.

@Lemonbalm8 I love your take on everything. I've been trying to stay in that kind of mindset and I feel like it's really helping me. To understand that what will be will be, and my anxieties can't influence that. It's hard but I feel like I'm becoming less anxious over time keeping that in mind. How are you feeling about your symptoms this afternoon?

purplecolouroffunk · 11/07/2024 16:31

@Rockyslife I hope you're doing okay. I'm so sorry to hear about your anxieties - it's so understandable when you've had a few losses.

I'm glad you've got a scan booked in for next week. It's a hard one isn't it? Like on the one hand you want to find our earlier rather than later if things aren't going well, but also you want to be far enough along to give a bit more reassurance.

Is your scan next week an NHS scan? If so I'd probably hang on til then if you at all can. 9 weeks will be a great time to hopefully give you some good reassurance. If you were to go for a private scan and found things aren't progressing as you'd like (not that that's what'll happen!) then it might be more stressful than being at an NHS facility šŸ’œ That was my thinking for not booking a private scan too early, anyway.

I literally have no symptoms, even my bloated belly is gone and is as flat as it can be šŸ˜‚ I can't quite understand how I'm 7+1 and nothing. They say symptoms come 6-7 weeks, well where are they?!
The last symptom I had was last Friday, some nausea, I had some ice and in the evening the nausea was gone. I am starting to think I just have quite few symptoms anyway, like I had nothing until 5+0 and then I got 3+ weeks on the test, even though I wasn't tired, no twinges, no cramping, none of the symptoms people say. I don't even have cm! Well, I better enjoy it honestly, I know one person who had no symptoms until 33 weeks and then just heavy, and she loved her pregnancy, so I am motivated to enjoy mine!
I might be vomiting next week though, but yes this pregnancy is very low on symptoms!

@Rockyslife That's a good point, I've also gone with NHS this time because if anything was wrong, I would rather get it tested by NHS. Rather than having to be dismissed by NHS after I mention private scan, and going there for additional scans. Saying that I want a scan every day, and after that first scan I had the good feels for few days, so you might want that just to have less anxiety šŸ’š

purplecolouroffunk · 11/07/2024 16:41

@Lemonbalm8 I definitely would try not to base your pregnancy progressing around symptoms, but I know how hard that can be!

My friend who is currently 26 weeks has had basically no symptoms. No nausea or food aversions or anything. I think she basically just had sore boobs at the very beginning and was tired! It's mad how different we all are.

Exactly! I am even on really high progesterone since dpo 9, and that should give me some symptoms. If I'm not even reacting to that, maybe it's just my body this time is not very sensitive. At least that's the hope! Thank you
