Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

@CosmicLove what a total nightmare, I’m so sorry. I have had quite a few TV scans and a few of the sonographers warned me before that spotting is commom after. I know it won’t reassure much as our brains are so hard wired after a miscarriage to expect the worst, but I’m keeping everything crossed for you šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ¤žšŸ»

CosmicLove · 05/07/2024 07:26

@Bubbles19818 thanks lovely. That's really interesting - I've had two before and nobody has ever warned me. I think I'd have been less panicky if it was just light spotting but it was a heavy-ish bleed for the first 40 mins or so, so I was convinced it was the start of the end šŸ˜” nothing there this morning when I wiped and when I press the tissue paper, there's a little bit of brown so I'm hoping that's just the end of yesterday's blood and I won't have anything new coming. It does seem the timeframe is so close to my scan not to be related. Trying to stay positive šŸ¤ž

MrsB2019x · 05/07/2024 09:06

Was going to ask how you were doing this morning @CosmicLove , glad it’s stopped now šŸ¤ž

CosmicLove · 05/07/2024 09:10

@MrsB2019xšŸ¤ž hoping so. Thank you for everyone's support and reassurance.

Enough about me! How's everyone else this morning? ā¤ļø

Lollypop25 · 05/07/2024 10:27

@CosmicLove I hope you're ok and you manage to keep as calm as possible before your next appointment.

As others have said it's super common to get a bleed after a scan and in early pregnancy in general. I've had bleeds in both my pregnancies exactly where you are now and I'm 16w6d today so it does happen and it doesn't always mean the worst.

Sending you lots of love šŸ’•

CosmicLove · 05/07/2024 10:57

Thank you @Lollypop25 that's very reassuring! I honestly thought it was all over yesterday 🄺 I'm so glad the bleeding seems to have resolved and your message gives me some hope to hang onto! ā¤ļøšŸ™

I have some good news this morning. I went into EPU as I'm running out of medication, and they advised to scan before medication to make sure all in the right place. The scan showed there is a little embryo in the right place with a good heartbeat. I had to wait 1 hour to be seen, it was the longest wait ever, thankfully they had TV to distract me. The doctor was so kind as well, I'm relieved that at least for now all seems to be going in the right direction. She also will scan me in 2 weeks due to my history, and now I just pray all goes well.

CosmicLove · 05/07/2024 12:08

@Lemonbalm8 that's wonderful news! And good to have had first scan done without the days / weeks build up and anticipation. So pleased to hear all is as it should be and a heartbeat too! How reassuring ā¤ļø

MrsB2019x · 05/07/2024 12:53

Brilliant news @Lemonbalm8, what a lovely week this is turning out to be for our babies šŸ˜

I hope your spotting will ease up over the weekend šŸ¤žšŸ»did they say they will do another scan on Monday? Fx

It's a good week indeed.
All of us deserve our healthy and happy pregnancies šŸ¤žšŸ» I hope next weeks bring more reassurance and we get to start to enjoy a bit more.

CosmicLove · 05/07/2024 14:18

@Lemonbalm8 thank you. It seems to have stopped now so I'm really hoping it was just a bleed caused by the TV scan probe. The sonographer said it was a new one that she wasn't very used to yet, although it didn't feel particularly uncomfortable at the time. The doctor I spoke to once I started bleeding said our blood vessels are so dilated in cervix and vagina during pregnancy that it could have been the cause. And thankfully that lovely EPU nurse that I've been dealing with right through my MMC and now this pregnancy was happy to book me for a scan on Monday morning. Hoping to see things have progressed slightly since yesterday by then and a heartbeat still going strong šŸ™

I mean normally there shouldn't be bleeding but I've had more bleeding after scans. It's like some blood was stuck in the uterus (causing spotting) and then it all came out after the scan? Still worrying but hoping for the best. It's lovely to have someone caring in the EPU look after you šŸ’š

Lemonbalm8 · 05/07/2024 14:48

I was very close to vomiting this morning when preparing breakfast, it seems that my symptoms are starting to ramp up a bit more in the nausea department. But given how it's been for me, I get 1 day of symptoms and then it goes for a week and worries me to no end. I definitely don't want to be down on the toilet the whole day, but so reassuring to have something. Also super gassy, heartburn as well.

I hope so! Got my scan on Tuesday and hoping I have the same lovely news as the rest of you 😬 I’m so anxious though!!

Beks96 · 05/07/2024 16:02

@Lemonbalm8 great news! So reassuring! I'm so happy that you got the reassurance you need!ā¤ļø

I had a day this week where I was very nearly close to throwing up, terrible motion-like sickness. But i also have days where I feel fine, I think our hormones fluctuate so much.

TMI but I've been constipated since I found out, I think the prenatals make it so much worse too haha. This is the symptom that hasn't budged. My boobs feel a bit tender but only on and off, not constantly like it was last time. I can't lie it does make you worry when the symptoms go away but I think it's normal for them to come and go.

@Lollypop25 that is so reassuring to hear RE the bleeding. I read an article from someone who had an irritated cervix and bled throughout their whole pregnancy, recalling similar feelings of fear and worry. But she was also explaining how normal it is for a lot of women and in many instances doesn't affect the baby at all. Made me feel some hope. (Note to self, I need to stay off google though!!)

My bleeding went away yesterday and today, just got some slight pink discharge this morning mixed with loads of clear stuff which I'm less bothered about. No clotsšŸ¤žšŸ¼ I know how triggering it is, but I am also trying to reassure myself that this could just be 'my normal' and it may happen every now and then for me.

My EPU didn't call me back on Weds like they said they would (they're normally really good) and strangely since then it's stopped so I've not followed up. I will call them next week if I need to though. I have an appt with my new GP on Tuesday (I moved GP in my last pregnancy as I moved house) not sure what help they could provide at this stage but I will mention my mc.

Your experiences at the EPU are giving me so much hope and I'm living the good news through you allFlowers we all deserve this so much xxx

Beks96 · 05/07/2024 16:09

Sorry I'm just catching up, you can tell I'm the friend who takes ages to text back🤣

@CosmicLove I'm so glad you got that all important reassurance at your appt. I would also bleed after the TV scan, and no one told me either that it would be normal so completely freaked out. The cervix can go softer and more blood flowing to it so it makes sense looking back.

Horrible experience at the time though🄓 especially when you're not expecting it. I completely get why you would be feeling this way.

I hope your next scan brings you more reassurance and a sense of calmnessšŸ’–

Had my first scan today which showed a heart beat and a baby. I am dating 4 days behind my flo app which worried me but the sonograoher said at this stage they’re so tiny it’s absolutely normal but I guess I just have to go with that. We’ve decided to have another scan in another two weeks which will hopefully see me past all of my losses, I’ve never got to 9 weeks. I feel like I need distractions, I work from home so am in my own head a lot can anyone suggest anything to keep me busy and entertained?

Gentle congratulations on the scan! How many weeks are you? Yes I think at this stage everything is so tiny that up to 10-12 weeks, there could be changes.
In terms of distractions, I've spend 2 weeks thinking about pregnancy no matter what I do, that I am delayed with work (though thankfully it's been quieter at work). So I'm thinking if I feel up to it, to go into office 2-3 days a week next week, just so I can catch up and also have some social meetings. I don't know, we will see. Reading a really good book for me usually is a dream.

Bubbles19818 · 05/07/2024 18:50

@Lemonbalm8 @Rockyslife - so happy for you both, what an amazing week it’s been for scans! Fingers crossed next week is as positive šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ¤žšŸ» I’m going for a scan on Thursday, absolutely dreading it though and tempted to put it off as I don’t want the bad news / want to keep being pregnant for a little bit longer.

Iā€˜ve also finally had intermittent nausea today and then this afternoon I got a weird muscle ache in my left shoulder blade whenever I bent over so was convinced for a good couple of hours it’s an ectopic. Early pregnancy is such a wild rollercoaster of emotions šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

Rockyslife · 05/07/2024 19:28

@Bubbles19818 i feel like I have known for ages and I’ve only been dated 7 weeks 1 day I thought I would be around 8 weeks this weekend every day counts during this early stage doesn’t it. Why does time go so slow when we aren’t pregnant but so slow when we are. I feel like I’ve been pregnant for 6 months without the well done at the end it’s just such a scary time isn’t it. I have everything crossed for you that Thursday will give you that little bit reassurance xx

Fantastic news! So great to have seen the heartbeat. Hope you're feeling reassured. It's so lovely to hear these positive scan stories ā¤ļø

@Lemonbalm8 and @Rockyslife that’s so wonderful about your scans and wee heartbeats! šŸ’œ

How far along were you both at your scan? I’m feeling slightly worried we didn’t see a heartbeat at 5+5, even though the EPU don’t seem worried.

@purplecolouroffunk You don’t generally see a heartbeat until 6 weeks. I haven’t had heartbeats at either of my 5 week scans

@purplecolouroffunk I think I was 6+2 yesterday. I think it's normal to not see heartbeat before week 6.
