BFP after recent loss

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now 🙂

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit 💜

Oh @CosmicLove this is such fantastic news!! I’m so happy for you. And that’s just amazing that you were able to see a wee heartbeat!

I hope this at least brings you a little reassurance for now that everything is progressing the way it should be. Definitely hang on to that feeling 💜💜

God an agonising 45 min wait at the EPU as they were so behind.

Everything is looking good and in the right place, and measuring as it should! They saw the gestational sac and the yolk sac and a tiny fetal pole that’s about 2mm. No heartbeat just yet but they weren’t worried cause only 5+5.

The nurse said the sonographer noted a really small discrepancy where the sac is ever so slightly bigger than you’d expect for the size of the fetal pole. But she also said it’s so marginal that she’s never actually seen a sonographer note that kind of discrepancy before, and that she must have been being super diligent 😂

So the best news we could really expect to have at the moment apart from seeing a heartbeat! Feeling reassured for now 😊💜

Thank you @CosmicLove! Definitely a relief for now :) I went in totally expecting bad news again, so feeling good for now.

Did they give you a foetal pole measurement? I'm trying to stay positive even though there's no heartbeat yet, but I feel reassured that they weren't worried.

They're going to give me a call next Wed to check in and see how things are, and get me in for another scan if they think it's needed.

@purplecolouroffunk honestly at 5+5 I'm even surprised they found a fetal pole! It's so early. The main thing is all in the right place, hopefully no more spotting and grow baby grow!

Thank you everyone! We're both just so relieved for now at least. Last time we were in that scan room it was just such horrible news and they took us into the little pregnancy loss room. It was such a good feeling not to be directed to that room again today (for now at least)💜

Yes, even hearing there's a foetal pole isn't something I was expecting to hear today! And the 2mm measurement is bang on for my dates too :)

When I had my scan on Tuesday, they were running behind then too. That wait nearly did me in. I was shaking like a leaf by the time I got onto the bed. Thankfully she took pity on me and said she would just need a few minutes to find it and do any observations, but she could tell we were both in a state and told us there was an embryo with a heartbeat first instead. I'll always be so grateful for that!

Oof the wait is awful isn't it. Especially it being the same waiting room I was in before finding out about my loss. I was struggling to keep my legs from shaking on those little stirrups too!

Your sonographer sounds lovely. It's so considerate of her to give you the reassuring info as quickly as she could. Still so so happy to hear about your news! :)) 💜

Hello lovely ladies, firstly thank you so much for all the kind and supportive posts today. It was definitely a relief to have that reassurance from this morning's scan. Unfortunately shortly after I got home I started having quite bad cramps and shortly after that I started bleeding. It was fresh red blood and I had to change my pad after half an hour. It was very scary. It has settled down quite a bit now and is only really there when I wipe (but still red) and my cramps are much better. EPU said they felt encouraged that it was settling down and that I hadn't passed any clots. They've booked me for a scan on Monday morning to check how things are looking. I hope everything will be looking fine but am of course fearing the worst. And if the bleeding starts up again like a period or heavier, I've to call and they'll see me. Going from happy and reassured this morning, to terrified and sad so quickly. It's been quite a rollercoaster of a day 💔

It happened to me few times after the TV scan. I was going to mention it before actually that don't be too scared if you're spotting or bleeding after, because the wand irritates cervix. I had this with my son, but I was also bleeding anyway. Hope it is just that, but definitely don't jump straight to conclusions. Hope it settles over night and try to get a progesterone.

Oh @CosmicLove how scary for you. I’m so sorry. Like the others said, it absolutely could just be from the TV scan. I’ve heard of a lot of women who have had some bleeding after that - especially if there’s already been some spotting too.

What an absolute rollercoaster for you. I’m thinking of you and sending loads of love 💜

Thank you @purplecolouroffunk and @MrsB2019x it's just a nightmare. Wish things could just be straightforward. I'm still spotting and having some pains but seems more settled that earlier. I hope it stops and everything looks fine on Monday 🙏
