Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

@Lemonbalm8 he had been taking fertility vits for men ages before our miscarriage, but we switched to Impryl on the advice of a urologist at the beginning of April and then started doing a Mediterranean diet about 6 weeks ago, just doesn’t really feel like enough time to have made a difference especially as we did another test end of April and it had got way worse since March. I guess since we know it’s his varicocele causing the issue I feel like the fragmentation won’t meaningfully improve until that’s fixed which is happening tomorrow which is great. That’s amazing that you saw such great improvements on motility in such a short amount of time. What supplements were you on? Think I just need an early night and I can wake up tomorrow more positive.

Is anyone feeling superstitious about changing to a pregnancy vitamin? I’m about to run out of my pre-conception vitamins, but feel nervous switching to the pregnancy version before having a scan in case I’m jinx it. I switched last time fairly early on and felt so sad whenever I saw them that I had to give them away to a pregnant friend

I meant morphology, not motility though they may be the same. I'm a bit confused on the mens side of things.
We both took proceive max conception.
Ah he has known varicocele? That's great it will get resolved.
I changed to proceive first trimester straight away, I think it's slightly different, but I don't think it matters.

Lemonbalm8 · 02/07/2024 21:14

@Bubbles19818 how did he get detected with varicocele? Did it show in sperm analysis? I have never paid much attention to this as my partners latest sperm analysis came good, but we didn't do DNA frag, we would have done it this month if I didn't get pregnant as it would have helped to do picsi with IVF this month...

Bubbles19818 · 02/07/2024 21:50

@Lemonbalm8 oh wow that’s even more impressive, morphology is quite hard to improve significantly from my understanding. My husband has really low morphology at 1% which is why we then tested for DNA Fragmentation as it was free through his work and the two are often linked. When we got the results back we were referrred to a fertility urologist who did an ultrasound and diagnosed varicocele. I’ve def read way too much on the topic though which is why I’m so scared about the miscarriage risk…ignorance can be bliss sometimes!

MrsB2019x · 02/07/2024 22:55

@Bubbles19818 I haven’t started taking pregnacare or anything like that yet, just sticking with folic acid and vitamin D. It hurt too much putting the pregnacare back in the cupboard last time šŸ˜”

MrsB2019x · 02/07/2024 22:56

I think the fatigue has hit today.. I fell asleep on the sofa at 4:30 🫣

purplecolouroffunk · 02/07/2024 23:37

Oh man I’ve just gotten ready for bed and have just wiped some pink šŸ˜” It’s really light and only a small amount but it’s really making me worry.

Haven't had any at all since about 10dpo and 5+3 now.

I'm sorry to hear that as I know how much worry that will bring. Please try to tell yourself the reassuring things you would say to one of us in your situation - spotting can be a very normal part of early pregnancy for various reasons, it isn't necessarily a bad thing and many women have spotting and go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies. How is it this morning? Sending hugs xx

purplecolouroffunk · 03/07/2024 09:17

@CosmicLove thank you, you're right. So triggering when I had it last time before the MMC and I still don't even know if it was related or not. Still have a bit this morning but definitely less than last night. It's sort of more mixed with CM and just little bits of almost pinky/orangey colour.

I had a dream last night that we had a beautiful baby girl. But every time I went to breastfeed her, she turned into my cat šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Yes we were really surprised at the difference just based on vitamins. I was really surprised at 2% morphology rate to start with, but yes it went to 8%. Maybe there were some other factors I'm not aware of... Hope the procedure goes well today! Remember that the issue was still there with your little one and it was ok šŸ™šŸ»hopefully the luck is on our side.

Lemonbalm8 · 03/07/2024 12:27

@purplecolouroffunk hope the spotting goes away! That dream made me laugh, I hear vivid dreams are common?

Lemonbalm8 · 03/07/2024 12:35

Has anyone had success without symptoms? I honestly convinced myself this morning that there is no way this could work. I had maybe 2 days of symptoms and I'm 6+0 today. It's weird that it's 2 days of intense symptoms and then nothing the rest of the days. I am in a negative loop of reading stories of no symptoms at 6 weeks and then mmc at 12, where baby stopped growing at week 9-10. It's like my life is suspended and will continue to be like this until week 12-13 when I think things are a bit clearer I suppose... I just want to know

Rockyslife · 03/07/2024 12:41

I have had two miscarriages in the space of 16 weeks and have fell pregnant again very soon after the 2nd, now I obviously feel grateful that we’ve managed to catch so soon after it took 3 years to conceive the first one that lead to a mc, I have my first scan on Friday, I decided to hold out until around 7ish 8 weeks for the first scan for mental reasons really, now the scan is fast approaching I am petrified, I feel myself reliving those horrors and am so scared that they’ll say the baby stopped growing or hasn’t grown or hearts stopped. And the scary part is so far with this pregnancy I haven’t had any cramps or spotting which is actually a positive thing for me as never not had issues, my body is almost giving me hope because of how it’s making me feel etc but I’m scared that it’s just the progesterone which is keeping my symptoms alive and the spotting from occurring. I just don’t know if I can have the scan but I know I need to for my own mental state of mind to know the situation

I am so sorry for your losses. I think it's natural to be approaching a scan and feel extra anxious. I have a scan next week and am so scared. I hope it works out for all of us šŸ€

purplecolouroffunk · 03/07/2024 14:05

I called the EPU and they’ve booked me in for a scan tomorrow just to see what’s happening. Said we wouldn’t be able to see much but can check if everything is in the right place etc.

AAHH I’m terrified!! I was not expecting to have to get a scan this early and I bet they won’t really be able to see anything and the anxiety will be awful šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”

maybe you could delay until Monday?

purplecolouroffunk · 03/07/2024 15:42

@Lemonbalm8 I'm really not sure what to do :( On the one hand I want to check everything is in the right place and find out even earlier if things aren't okay. On the other hand I don't want to be left with more anxiety.

@CosmicLove I'm right in thinking your scan is tomorrow too? And you'll be v similar at around 5+5 or so? How are you feeling about it?

OP posts:
CosmicLove · 03/07/2024 15:56

@purplecolouroffunk that's great that EPU are happy to scan. I totally get it might make you more anxious but might be nice to just have a snapshot (although early) to see that everything is as it should be for now in terms of location and measurements. Then they might be happy to see you back in 2 weeks to check progress. That's what I'm hoping for. I'll be 5+6 tomorrow xx

purplecolouroffunk · 03/07/2024 16:00

@CosmicLove you're right. And I guess if we just go in definitely not expecting to see a heartbeat cause I know it's too early. So really all I'm looking for just now is reassurance that everything is in the place. I hope they're able to offer another scan in a couple of weeks.

What time is your scan tomorrow?

If it helps, I've had scans before 6 weeks before and while there was no foetal pole, they were able to see an yolk sac both times, which meant they were able to tell me it was just one fertilised egg, which ovary it came from, that it was in the right place, and that they expected further growth because of the yolk sac being present.

I totally understand the anxiety, I was an absolute wreck yesterday and cried before she'd even started from the trauma of all my last scans. But both scans I had pre 6 weeks previously did at least calm my nerves about some things. At 5+6, they might even be able to see the beginnings of a foetal pole.

KittyFantastica · 03/07/2024 16:04

Sorry, pressed send too quick! @Lemonbalm8 I still haven't had a single symptom beyond a bit of bloating and constipation and they were very happy with my scan yesterday at EPU. Obviously, there is still a long way to go and aging could happen, but baby is measuring bang on time and with an above average heart beat for 6+2. It was shocking to me considering how much growing and developing is going on without my having any symptoms, but that's the current case. I'm holding on to that hope that it continues and everything is fine.

CosmicLove · 03/07/2024 16:12

@purplecolouroffunk I took the first one of the day so I would have as little waiting as possible! So it's 8.20am. I'm so nervous. That's so reassuring @KittyFantastica I'm also having next to no symptoms - I'm tired and sometimes feeling a bit sick but I think it's probably more anxiety that pregnancy related! What time is your appointment Purple? Xx

Thank you! šŸ‘šŸ» That's reassuring. When I got my 3+, I was shocked as I had absolutely zero symptoms by then, so yes it's true lots could be going on behind the scenes. Did you do any hcg tests? Also are you taking any medications if you don't mind me asking?

Lemonbalm8 · 03/07/2024 16:15

@purplecolouroffunk @CosmicLove rooting for you tomorrow, hope the little embryo is in the right place. It absolutely makes sense to get checked especially with spotting, even if heartbeat is yet to come. šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ€šŸ™šŸ»

purplecolouroffunk · 03/07/2024 16:18

@KittyFantastica thank you - I'm glad to hear they gave you a little reassurance at least. It's all happened so fast that my head is all over the place. 100% expected them to wait until after 6 weeks to scan me so I'm really surprised.

@CosmicLove good idea on the early slot. Mine is 11am so won't have to wait too long at least. I'm glad we're both in it together. I'm terrified to go back to that waiting room and possibly even same scan room at the EPU. Feels like groundhog day.

@Lemonbalm8 thank you so much. Trying not to panic too much and assume everything is going to be okay unless I hear otherwise.
