Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now šŸ™‚

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit šŸ’œ

@torturedpoet13 @CosmicLove @Lemonbalm8 thank you so much, I really appreciate it. It's so good to have the support here isn't it, such a god sendā¤ļø

It's wore off for now šŸ¤žšŸ¼ I know it can be sooo normal in early pregnancy but my mind jumps to worst case. I think it's an enormous trigger for me and I'm trying to remind myself that I don't have control. I completely understand how hard this is for everyone. Sending out so much positivity for us all to get through the week ā¤ļø

purplecolouroffunk · 01/07/2024 11:47

@Beks96 I completely understand that. That false hope must just have been just devastating. At least at 8 weeks you should have a definitive answer. My thinking in waiting til then is similar too. It's such an anxious wait šŸ’œ

@purplecolouroffunk it was just so confusing I think. The doctor said that usually when they see the heartbeat, it's a good sign, but she couldn't be certain. It was just an extreme high, starting to get excited and then 2 weeks later an extreme low.

It was good for us to see a little heart beat, because it kind of gives us hope, that even with bleeding we still saw a heartbeat etc. Just need to focus on the good, but it's quite difficult, need distractions!

I think by 6/7 weeks, usually people do tend to see a heartbeat and my situation probably wasn't the most common. If it had been different I definitely would be ringing the EPU at 6 weeks just to check, 100%.

Lemonbalm8 · 01/07/2024 12:11

@Beks96 that's confusing and very sad. I'm sorry you went through that. The wait is a form of torture, hopefully your work trip makes this week go faster.

Lemonbalm8 · 01/07/2024 12:14

Is anyone feeling a bit of pressure on the belly button and around? Also a bit of nausea? I feel like I'm making it up because I'm anxious though.

I think I ovulated on my left this time. But weirdly I'm having pressure on both sides.

Beks96 · 01/07/2024 12:27

@Lemonbalm8 thank you lovely, I think it should take my mind off things definitely.

I hope you're doing good and still got the calm vibes. Definitely trying to live by your mantra at the min, day by dayā¤ļø

Mommabear96 · 01/07/2024 14:20

@Lemonbalm8 yes I’ve been feeling the same things. Belly feels kinda full/pressure and have been having light bouts of nausea on and off throughout the day the last week.
With my last pregnancy I felt sick on and off at set times of day but was never actually sick thank god so hoping it’s the same this time!

Also think I ovulated on the left but having been feeling twinges (ligament pain?) on both sides…
My MC in April was also on the left side so hoping everything’s healed ok there and this one has implanted well and is all ok and not too much scar tissue there 😬
I’m 4w4d today and got a 2-3 on a digi test so that’s good, going to test again in a week so hopefully get that 3+

Bubbles19818 · 01/07/2024 14:24

@Beks96 sending hugs your way and I really hope work is a good distraction. I had a similar situation with my last pregnancy where we saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks and then found at 8 weeks it was a MMC, so I understand wanting to delay scan. I knew last time at 6 weeks though as the heartbeat was to slow and it was measuring 3 days behind, but there was still that hope so o was crushed when we had our second scan. Think I’m going to go at 7 weeks as we’re off on holiday when I’m 8+1 and want some breathing room in case we find out the worst. Wish I could delay to 8/9 weeks when there is more certainty after a scan.

@Lemonbalm8 - had some mild nausea too last night and this morning but think it’s just anxiety 😐

purplecolouroffunk · 01/07/2024 14:34

@Beks96 it must have been so confusing, especially as you hear a lot that having a heartbeat is a really good sign. Totally get the ups and downs feeling. And also understand why you wouldn’t want to see the EPU just yet šŸ’œ

@Lemonbalm8 my belly feels like I’ve done about a million sit ups. Just generally feel so achy and so so tired, almost like I can’t concentrate properly. I’m so rundown with a really sore throat and head too, it’s annoying.

Been getting little hints of nausea here and there, it feels a bit like motion sickness, but it’s not too bad.

My mood seems to be all over the place too and I’ve been finding myself getting very irritable, which I hate cause is really unlike me.

I called my hospital today and explained my 4 miscarriages and that I was having a scan next week & they said I could come in tomorrow and get a prescription of progesterone! I've never taken it before so really hoping it helps!

purplecolouroffunk · 01/07/2024 17:35

@torturedpoet13 oh that’s great! So good they’re giving you progesterone 😊

@purplecolouroffunk that's great! Gosh having the dates in the diary must make it feel real. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling a bit crap - I've also had this sore throat thing for just over a week and it became a cough but today is the first day I'm feeling better. Hopefully it's on the way out now and hope it's short lived for you too. I'm knackered atm and being ill doesn't help!
@torturedpoet13 great you're getting progesterone. Anything that might help is a good thing! Xx

That's great! It does seem real now. Mine is also mid July.
Did you end up telling your manager? I'm considering telling him when/if I get to 10-11 weeks

MrsB2019x · 01/07/2024 20:34

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on here, just got back from a busy long weekend in Cornwall which was sooo nice! And much needed. There was a development over the weekend..
I finally have sore nips!!! 🤣🄳
It’s helped ease the anxiety of a lack of symptoms… for now at least lol

MrsB2019x · 01/07/2024 20:35

@Beks96 Glad everything has settled down šŸ’– Hope it stays that way!!

Cornwall sounds amazing this time of year! I'd love to go on holiday again, even though I was back only 2.5 weeks ago. Feel like first trimester is a lifetime! Maybe after the scan, I can head back out for couple of days with the family
And good thing about sore nips šŸ˜‚ I've also had a few more symptoms.

CosmicLove · 01/07/2024 21:51

@MrsB2019x I've also been having sore nipples! I'm still BF my 18mo overnight (although trying to wean) and it's been so sore to feed over the past few nights. Nothing else so far although feeling much more exhausted than usual, so I guess that's something. In both my pregnancies, the intense nausea hit me at 6 weeks so I'm gearing up for that this week! Hope you had a lovely time in Cornwall. We were in Bude a few years ago and it was beautiful xx

MrsB2019x · 02/07/2024 08:07

@Lemonbalm8 Definitely get away for a few days if you can, it was so lovely. Weather wasn’t the best but we made the most of it

@CosmicLove BFing with sore nips sounds so painful!! Hats off to you 🫔

CosmicLove · 02/07/2024 09:29

Thank you @MrsB2019x I didn't want to still be BF when I fell pregnant again but here we are. I was worried it had caused / contributed to my MC although everyone around me including health professionals said it definitely wouldn't have had an impact. When I was scouring the internet for answers as to what could have caused it (stupid idea, as how can I know for sure?) I came across some studies about BF delaying foetal growth due to it depleting oestrogen and progesterone. In my head it makes sense why that could be the case but so many thousands of women the world over BF throughout pregnancy and it's fine. I wanted to have her fully weaned before it happened again but I fell faster than anticipated. You hear some people say they're children just stopped naturally - they could take it or leave it etc. My daughter is not like that! She still wants it so much and it's taken a lot to cut out daytime feeds. Working on nights now! It does mean though that if anything goes wrong again, I'll think that was the cause and it will be my fault again for not giving up BF quickly enough šŸ˜”

CosmicLove · 02/07/2024 09:30

*their children 😳

I had a MC just after stopping bf at 19 months. My son stopped as he got hand foot mouth disease from the nursery and had blisters in his mouth. I actually felt sad having MC after he stopped as I felt like I lost my baby and my son not needing me as much (it sounds silly when I say it). I grieved him stopping bf for about a month and then I felt amazing, it was a good time for me.
I thought the same as you and did prolactin test just after my first MC thinking maybe getting pregnant so soon after bf was not good, and all was ok.
Don't worry it's all good šŸ‘šŸ» it might just be a bit tiring first few months, so it's really up to you and your little one, when you feel ready. I guess what I'm trying to say is there are tests to check but also don't feel like it caused MC because that's very unlikely.
For me progesterone is always a good idea to stock up on, it supports the pregnancy.

Lemonbalm8 · 02/07/2024 10:06

@CosmicLove my son was also a boob monster, so if he didn't get the illness, I don't know if I could have stopped. But it was a good time for me. After the month passed after bf, I felt good, more free.

Lemonbalm8 · 02/07/2024 10:07

How's everyone this morning?
