Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

I can't wait to get the cot/wardrobe/changer all up! Because then tomorrow I can start putting her little clothes and blankets and muslins and bits away as it's just been a dumping ground for months!!!! 🥰

This is what I can’t wait for! I need to get my toddler out of her cot and into a toddler bed, so I can put her cot in the nursery lol. But bring on the tiny washing, organising into drawers and buying all the unnecessary but cute things 🥹

Xur · 15/06/2024 19:39

@rupertbear91 gorgeous lip shape on your little cuddle bear 🤩🥰
I had my 3D/4D scan today, baby has a lot of face expressions. He graced us with a smile 😊
after the scan I went and bought more baby clothes (sleep suits, hats, socks). I also went into a card factory to pick a card for my husband to add to his Father’s Day gift I prepared for him and when I was trying to choose a card and reading the cards I saw some that touched me and I actually started bawling 😭 in the card factory. 🤣 I can’t believe I did that, there were some cards with really touching texts. So is this the new me? Crying over cards? 😅

Btw I started washing all the baby stuff I’ve bought. Idk I just thought why wait

Emmaev · 15/06/2024 21:31

@malimoon I wouldn’t worry about the measurements the midwives do, I don’t think they’re entirely accurate. I’m measuring below the 50th centile on fundal height, but when we had our growth scan baby girl was measuring on the 90th. With our daughter every measurement came up normal and she wasn’t even on the percentile chart.

You girls with your 3d scans, absolutely gorgeous. So magical seeing those little faces. We were on the fence about getting a scan, but due to all our extra scans I don’t think we will. But I just love seeing their little faces. Just amazing they have so many expressions already

Lillers · 15/06/2024 21:44

Does anyone else ever feel a bit queasy when the baby is constantly moving/kicking? I am immensely grateful to feel so much movement, but at the same time it’s a little bit like being seasick at times - I can’t think of any other way to describe it!

FuppinNora · 15/06/2024 22:25

Yes Lillers, love feeling the movement but makes me feel queasy at the same time. I also have extremely bad indigestion for the last 6 weeks or so, constantly eating rennies. It doesn't matter what type of food it is, anything starts it off.

I'm 28 weeks today, anyone similar time to me been told to start counting movements yet, maybe it is too early? I have appointment on Monday so will ask then anyway.

Had a growth scan last week and was told instead of baby being small it is on the 90th. While it is great that baby and placenta are growing great I did cross my legs at this news, ouch 😂

MrsM89 · 15/06/2024 22:47

@Cat2022 how are you feeling? Have you had any symptoms yet? This eve I suddenly feel so worried about the slapped cheek exposure. Xx

RosiePH · 15/06/2024 22:49

I’m starting to get so tired again! In bed by 9 a few times this week, and I’m only 25 weeks. Thought I had a bit longer to enjoy the second trimester energy…

I did order a cute little from bump card on Etsy for Father’s Day but classic Royal Mail haven’t delivered it.

Martibum · 15/06/2024 23:00

I haven't been on in forever!
Just an update, I basically was very ill from March to May. I was anemic but managed to pull my iron levels up just a few days before my iron infusion! A chronic cough that I couldn't shift for 3 months, episodes of feeling faint.... its been really rough to be honest. Now I'm over that, I can barely walk with my massive bump!

I've been given a cut off date, the twins need to be out by 22nd of July (at 34 weeks). My due date was technically 3rd of September.
I am now at the packing hospital bag stage, getting house ready etc. Twins heads are down and I'm already feeling pressure. They were measuring at 2lb 6oz and 2lb 10oz at my 28 week scan. I really feel like I'll go before my "new" due date
I'm mentally preparing myself for premature babies and NICU admission. I've been signed off work for weeks and have been trying to take care of myself (hard with a very demanding 3 year old).
I hope everyone enjoys the last stretch of their pregnancy. I feel like I'm in a tailspin 😄

SpicyMoth · 15/06/2024 23:05

So my day was fun!
I spent the entirety of today at my maternity hospital in both A&E and Triage due to suspected kidney stones.
Threw up, cried, got on all fours on the floor, you name it I did it.
spent £3 per bottle vending machine water because they had no coolers available at all, and went all day without food until I got home at around 8 or 9pm and ordered and ungodly huge Maccies.

Baby all fine all things considered, but I am EXHAUSTED.
Due to have an ultrasound on my kidney next week some time with any luck - Really hope I pass it by then.

Does anyone know if it's true what they say that kidney stone pain can be worse than labour? x.x
Because if this was essentially a practise run for what labour will be like? I'm fucked.

Thanks for the new thread!

@mrsmoggy im not sure if I can tag you in this one yet? But just wanted to say my first baby measured small too, we had fortnightly growth scans, but the actual size was less of a concern, it was more about if she was growing steadily on her own trajectory. So if baby is 6th (I think you said) centile now, I’m sure they usually just keep monitoring to check they stay on that and if they do (we were 8th I think) I don’t think they do anything.

The growth scans were to make sure she didn’t drop further, indicating a potential placenta issue. Had she shown any slowed growth, they would’ve induced me, but as long as they keep plodding on along their own wee track then all is hopefully totally fine - just dinky ♥️

Hi - this is what I was told by my consultant too, as long as they’re on “their” path it’s fine - some babies have to be 6th centile and some have to be 96th!

Luluem · 15/06/2024 23:10

Sorry to hear this - I’ve had kidney stones but not been in labour as had elective CS first time round, however I’ve heard kidney stone pain is worse and also there’s nothing natural about how it comes on (the colic pain of a kidney stone) whereas friends who’ve gone through labour says it coincides with pushing etc and all feels like it goes together, if that makes sense? So please don’t think kidney stones is a dry run for labour, it shouldn’t be. Also I was left up medicated for hours with stones, you should get something in labour!

That's quite the relief to here ! I'm not religious by any mean but I'm praying with all my might that you're correct, today was absolutely hellish x-x 😩

@Martibum Oh my goodness, looks like you’ll be the first in this group to pop! It’ll be so weird seeing one of us go from having a bump to actual babies - we’ll all become your little ones’ internet aunties 🥰. I hope you’re feeling better now, sounds like you’ve had a really difficult time.

Lillers · 16/06/2024 03:12

3.10am, and my goodness I miss being able to take cold and flu tablets to help get to sleep when you’re not feeling well.

It’s also really hot in this room - we have air con but dh controls it from his phone and I don’t want to wake him up (I could ask Alexa to switch it on but that would also wake him up).

Considering just getting up and going downstairs rather than continuing to lie uncomfortably on my side staring at the back of dh’s head.

Lillers · 16/06/2024 05:04

5.03am. Still awake. Since last post have fed the cat, been horrendously sick (first time in nearly 3 weeks) and done some work. Now going to see what mindless tv can keep me entertained at this time of the morning.

Cat2022 · 16/06/2024 07:18

@MrsM89 the week following her rash starting I had some sort of viral illness - sore throat, cough, tired etc. and the midwife said that could’ve been it unfortunately. I’m definitely feeling nervous having to wait to find out but I already have my 28 week growth scan a week on Monday so I just need to try and not think about it till then.

Are you feeling unwell at all?

WinsandSam · 16/06/2024 08:06

@FuppinNora I had my 25 week midwife appointment and they said we don't count the kicks anymore. Just look out for patterns in movement- eg active am and night.

@Martibum wow, that's both exciting and terrifying at the same time! But you're going to get to meet them soon 💕 you must be overwhelmed with all you have to do in such a short space of time. Good luck and glad you're starting to feel better.

@Lillers sounds like you're in for a looooong day!! It's cool but muggy where I am. Felt damp all night. Imagine you'll be needing a nap later

MrsMoggy · 16/06/2024 08:24

Well the latest in my small baby saga…

First trip to triage last night as she hadn’t moved all day (very lazy baby anyway but hadn’t felt a thing).

She “passed” the heart monitor but no other investigations done on her or me. I now have to go back tomorrow for scan to check blood flow and fluid then back up to triage with the results. This as well as the growth scan that’s scheduled for the following week.

I know I’ll spend today worrying about movements again. This weekend was my “birthday weekend” but not been able to enjoy it with all the stress. One worry after another with this little lady

MrsM89 · 16/06/2024 08:32

@Cat2022 oh no. Hopefully the viral symptoms were something else. I'm not feeling ill. But have seen so many cases where adults get no symptoms. My little boy only got the cheeks and rash even nothing else. My little girl is much worse poor thing. So it's made me worry more. I know the risk is lower at this stage but knowing baby already has a kidney problem I think I worry it'd be too much to deal with an infection aswell. X

Lillers · 16/06/2024 09:48

@WinsandSam I went back to bed just after 7 and still couldn’t sleep 😭. Eventually drifted off around 8ish, and been awake again since 9. I still feel really unwell so goodness knows what today will be like!

SpicyMoth · 16/06/2024 16:37

I'm sure a lot of you already know this as you all seem far more experienced & researched than me, but I thought I'd post it here just in case;

Antacids can cause kidney stones!!

Really wish I'd known that, I'd have given anything for horrendous heartburn over what I endured yesterday 😩

HRP1990 · 16/06/2024 17:27

I’ve come up to the hospital for reduced movements.. laid on the bed and ended up fainting 🙈 how embarrassing. It was all of a sudden, I felt dizzy, literal sweat dripping off me and blood pressure went down to 63/31. The midwife got the gas out for me and then my blood pressure started to come back up 🤷🏻‍♀️ So I’m now sat eating toast as if nothing happened lol waiting for one last check before I can go home. Typically baby is moving now which is the main thing!

longingtobe23 · 16/06/2024 17:42

gosh you’re all going through it ladies … hope you’ve had a restful Father’s Day weekend with your other halves!
I was lucky and spent with my dad and husband … but cooking a full roast and hosting pregnant was hardcore 😂
i usually absolutely love it, so that’s a sign it’s my last time for a while. Also just got an invite to a wedding for November! Ekkk 7 weeks postpartum I am panicking at the thought 😂

WinsandSam · 16/06/2024 20:06

Can anyone recommend a baby monitor (video style) that doesn't cost the earth?
