Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

@WinsandSam yes actually!!! We bought this
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ZOSI-Camera-One-Touch-Dual-Band-CCTV/dp/B0CN6BSHYD
we tested it for a week, we set it up on the kitchen counter and checked how it works. Cool widgets about this:
-it is operated via an app on your phone, you can video call the camera and speak to whoever is on the other side like face time
-you can move it from your phone, as in, then the field of view
-the night vision is good
-you can set it up to send you notifications about an array of events

it cost pennies.

WinsandSam · 16/06/2024 20:27

@Xur thank you.
Forgot to say, I want a monitor one not a phone one! Hear they're more reliable

malimoon · 16/06/2024 20:50

@longingtobe23 one of my good friends is getting married October 6... She invited me when I was still in the first trimester so I had to wait a few weeks and then let her know it probably wasn't gonna be a goer for me. I'm sad because it will be a good party!

Lillers · 16/06/2024 20:56

@SpicyMoth I didn’t know that, but just looked at my trusty pack of Rennie’s and of course it’s got calcium carbonate in, so that makes sense! Did they say anything about how many are too many, or is there no real safe limit?

Decaffe · 16/06/2024 21:07

Strange question alert… Has anyone got an aching undercarriage?! Hard to describe, but… I imagine it’s what it would feel like if I went horse riding or mountain biking and was sore the next day. I don’t feel it all the time, just when I’m in certain positions?!

TripleESept24 · 16/06/2024 21:08

WinsandSam · 16/06/2024 20:06

Can anyone recommend a baby monitor (video style) that doesn't cost the earth?

I have quite a few on my Amazon baby wishlist..... All under £50! And all decent reviews!

@Decaffe that’s PGP for me! The only place I feel it. Sometimes when walking, always when turning over at night, and sometimes generally if I’ve been quite busy.

Oh crumbs, is that what it is? Thank you, off to google… Yes I feel it turning over too!

I also am starting to get bad lower back pain when walking, I wonder if that’s related. I had assumed it’s just because I have an anterior placenta so baby’s weight is to the rear of the bump?

RosiePH · 16/06/2024 21:24

@Decaffe does sound like it if you’re getting when turning! I also get it when getting dressed into trousers and when getting out the car.

I got some good exercises from a pelvic floor physio and although I’ve had it since 15 weeks, thankfully it hasn’t got any worse so far 😊

SC126 · 16/06/2024 22:00

@TripleESept24 @WinsandSam i have the GHB one off Amazon and on your list. It’s lasted me years with no issues and the camera is good enough for me. No need to buy expensive things.

HRP1990 · 16/06/2024 22:16

@longingtobe23 @malimoon I was bridesmaid for my best friend for her wedding.. I was 8 weeks post partum 🙈 I wore the biggest shape pants I could find lol. I couldn’t miss it, my daughter was with us which was lovely to look back on! (Obviously no eyes were on me, just the bride!) it was an amazing day. Definitely go if you can 🫶🏼

longingtobe23 · 16/06/2024 22:18

@HRP1990 this is true I’ll be with mostly people I don’t know, no apart of the party. Might be easier as less pressure haha. Just worried I’ll be a leaking mess 😂
but might be nice for a slap up meal with hubby!

I had her with me whilst getting ready lol and pumped before I got dressed 😂 my boobs were rock hard by the end of the night, but I’d have kicked myself if I hadn’t of gone. See how you feel nearer the time. It is easier to get out of if you’re not part of the bridal party lol.

Xur · 16/06/2024 22:21

@RosiePH I am also doing pelvic floor exercises, I incorporated them in my gym program and I also picked a certain type of squat that is beneficial for pregnant ladies.
I stopped having pelvic discomfort ( stretch pains, girdle pains and lower back pains) after I restarted gym. If I don’t attend for long enough it comes back!

malimoon · 16/06/2024 23:09

@HRP1990 that sounds so nice. I'm due right at the end of September so I think October 6 is probably out for me unless bab makes a surprising early appearance... Conceivably he could be literally a few days old at that point. But I guess you never know til you know 😅

Unfortunately not really, just a passing mention followed by a google search by me to confirm I'd remembered right once I got home - But there really wasn't very much communication at all to be honest.
They were very busy in there and I didn't want to be a bother as I was rushed off to the maternity triage when I knew full well it was a me problem and not a baby problem, I could hear very new babies and I felt so horrendously guilty being there!

I'm due to go into maternity triage again on Wednesday for PGP physio so I'll try and pluck up the nerve to ask a few more questions then, as at least then I'll be expected there as opposed to just rushed in from A&E so hopefully I won't feel like I'm such a burden and will have the balls to ask 🙈

Anyone else struggling with pelvic joint pains? Usually at its worst for me when I’ve been laying down, and mostly on one side. It’s bloody excruciating at time, and makes me hobble for ages

Decaffe · 17/06/2024 03:48

Anyone else wide awake? Foolishly nodded off on the sofa 11pm-1am, came up to bed and wasn’t able to get back to sleep - reflux and sore lower back.

Came downstairs at 3 for a cuppa and some cereal! Had so much to do at work tomorrow (this) morning too 😩

Decaffe · 17/06/2024 04:46

Still awake… what am I meant to do with work?! 😅

Lillers · 17/06/2024 06:07

@Decaffe That was me yesterday! No sleep at all, and had loads I needed to do work-wise (luckily from home). I did the essentials and tried napping but couldn’t even nap during the day! Managed to get more sleep last night but seriously considering not going in today as I still have that horrible cold - although I know I’m screwing myself for the amount of work I have to do this week. But if I go in today, I’ll probably get more ill, not be able to do the work properly anyway, and need up having to take more of the week off. So I think I know what I need to do.

FuppinNora · 17/06/2024 07:37

@WinsandSam I bought the vtech one the other day it was about £50. I set it up and pleased with it. I had been reading about WiFi ones being able to be hacked or something but I didn't do a deep delve into how common/true it is.

@Honeyandsunshine1 yep I have that pain, it does come and go but if I've either been sitting or walking too long it comes back and I nearly need a walking stick. It is only on the right pelvic bone but it is like it is grinding together. I have an appointment with midwife today so will ask is there anything I can do. I'm going in with a list of moaning today, god help them 😂

WinsandSam · 17/06/2024 07:54

@malimoon i feel you. I'm due to be in Spain for a friends wedding on the 10th August. So gutted!! Too scared to fly at around 33 weeks

Thanks for all your monitor recommendations. @FuppinNora yes I don't want a WiFi one for safety/hacking reasons. Sound creepy!

Like a few others @Lillers I've decided to call in sick today. After nearly fainting on Saturday, feeling run down and tired. I felt a rest day or two was needed. First time and the guilt did try to stop me!

Cinai · 17/06/2024 08:16

Ladies, do you have any wisdom to share on sleeping positions? I’m just in so much pain with side sleeping - hip pain, nerve pain in my bum…I only manage 3-4 hours per night, then the pain gets unbearable and I’m getting up, usually around 2am. I’m absolutely knackered working all day on so little sleep. Can’t even call in sick because I’m self-employed. I’ve tried everything I could with pillows / pregnancy pillows (although I don’t have a bbhugme…is it really making a difference?), the only thing my midwife suggested was sitting upright against a wall, but no way I can sleep in a fully upright position. The two positions I could do are sleeping reclined (half way inbetween laying flat and sitting upright), or putting a pillow under my back at the right side and sleep in a 45 degree angle (half way inbetween laying on my back and laying on my side) but I’m not sure if either of these is safe?

Lillers · 17/06/2024 09:18

@Cinai I’m finding sleeping really painful too, and I have a bbhugme. I do think it’s helped to an extent, but not to the point where I’d say it’s a fix.

The only 2 positions that have helped are these:

  1. On my left side, bbhugme in front of me, right leg on top of bb and left leg straight underneath me. Husband then folds over an extra pillow and stuffs it under my ribcage at the back. It means I can rock slightly backwards without ending up on my back, which helps relieve any pressure as it builds up through the night.
  2. On my right side, bbhugme behind me, but pulled through my legs between my knees. I then hold the extra pillow between my boobs to take some of the weight off those, because they are so heavy!

It feels like such a military operation and I can only see it getting worse!

Lillers · 17/06/2024 09:19

@WinsandSam Yep I made the decision and called in sick. Got loads of work on but I just need a day off.
