Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

Page 40 | September 2024 - Thread 7! 🐣🧡💛❤️ | Mumsnet

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

@Emmaev @Lillers I'm planning on breastfeeding again too. I did try to pump also with DS, but realised it wss a bit of a catch 22 as if DH was giving a bottle, I'd still have to pump at the same time as the feed to maintain supply. So it didn't really give me too much of a break, although lovely for DH and family to be able to give a bottle. I'm now thinking more along the lines of combi feeding - breast and formula - so that the breaks I have from breastfeeding are actually breaks. The hope is that initially I will feed baby, go to bed around 8pm, leaving baby with DH, he can formula feed around 10-11pm, then bring baby up with him. Then I'd be up around 1am for the night feeds. So then at least I get a decent 4-5 hour stretch of sleep in one go. Obviously all dependent on how baby sleeps/feeds. We were lucky with DS that we had no real issues with either.

@Cat2022 advice is great, especially about introducing a bottle too early. We went at least a month before introducing DS to a bottle to avoid nipple confusion, then went with MAM bottles and cold water steriliser. I'd also suggest that when introducing a bottle, either your partner or someone else does it, as baby will be able to smell your milk so may be more difficult.

Just had a big ol’ breakdown at work because they asked me to do something I don’t want to do.

I literally feel like a child having a tantrum.

I’ve told them I’m going home sick if they make me do it. I have never in my life been so unprofessional and can’t believe I’m behaving this way - hopefully they’ll forgive me 🥴

I’m feeling the exact same recently! Well actually, most of the pregnancy, I really don’t feel like “myself” at all. I’m sure they will forgive you, people like to give pregnant women grace. Hope you feel some solidarity though in that you’re absolutely not alone. 🤍

Are you having a girl too? I genuinely think, and many disagree, but in my experience I have been acting WILD whilst growing a girl. With my boys, I felt fabulous and tip top. Girl? I’m like an unpredictable banshee 🤫

Honeyandsunshine1 · 13/06/2024 09:37

I’m planning on breastfeeding too, just hoping these dried out old pitta breads can withstand a third call to action 🫣😂 My first was an absolute milk fiend so we ended up doing breast and bottle as my boobs simply could not keep up. So just another bottle recommendation coming from me - Dr Browns in the glass version. This is a good option for anyone like me who is a plastic bottle hater. It didn’t feel right having hot milk/substance in a plastic bottle to give to my baby and I really worried about the leeching, so opted for this glass version and they really served us well. I’m sure MAM and other companies by now will have glass bottles too now, but jusy throwing this out there

Xur · 13/06/2024 11:34

@Honeyandsunshine1 yeah I was looking at the DR browns because I have similar feelings about the materials but none of my friends have used Browns so couldn’t get any feedback wether they are good or no.

@Lillers I’m sorry I know it’s not funny but I really laughed at that 🤣 because I know how it feels the realisation when we are aware we are being unreasonable but we cannot help it 🤣 someone was being rude to me at work yesterday (one level higher on the hierarchy level, but he’s usually like that) and in order to avoid telling him to fxxx off I just put the phone down like an unprofessional brat. I don’t normally do that, normally I can come up with a professional and acceptable way to relay the same message, but yesterday I could feel the profanities sitting in the tip of my tongue about to spill and I just abruptly put the phone down which is not better really🤣

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 13/06/2024 11:51

@Honeyandsunshine1 @Lillers unpredictable banshee here too 👋😂 I'm growing a girl too!

I went away last week and ended up crying in the arcade in public (over my 4 year old being grumpy on our first day away...so literally over nothing) ...I had to take myself outside and cry in the rain 😂

Today I've got upset because my mum is on holiday and I miss calling her daily. She only went on Monday. 🤦‍♀️

Khanga27 · 13/06/2024 13:47

Hi all, just marking place, hope everyone is doing well.

Finally getting around to buying things, ordered a snuzpod yesterday and looking into bath bits and high chair. Like the stokke Tripp trapp even with the price tag, as my brother has one and the newborn bit is such a good idea. I can’t remember who posted the link to the bundle in the last thread but just wanted to say thank you to whoever that was.

SC126 · 13/06/2024 13:52

Ahh here you guys are! Thought I'd lost everyone for second there 🤣 just place marking. Finally started painting the nursery which is exciting. Movement has definately ramped up too.
However I think the pgp is on its way back. By the end of each day I'm in quite a lot of pain and can barely walk.
5 weeks left in work and counting!

Lillers · 13/06/2024 16:21

@Honeyandsunshine1 @Xur @BeautyAndTheBump1 Thanks ladies, the solidarity definitely helps!

I am indeed having a girl, and have been really trying to control the amount of banshee that work gets to see, but today was just too much! Luckily, hysterical crying pregnant woman threatening to walk out makes the men I work with uncomfortable, so the only thing they could do was to exactly what I wanted 😜. So I didn’t have to do the horrible job they gave me, and they also took something else off my plate too, and then kept checking in on me all day to make sure I’m alright/still here 😂

Honeyandsunshine1 · 13/06/2024 16:59

@Xur Glad to be of use! 🩷🥹

@BeautyAndTheBump1 I swear it’s a girl thing! But like I said, some disagree with me 🤣 is she your first? Xxx

@Cat2022 @Lillers @cd24x

Thanks girls! I’m gonna wait to introduce a bottle, it was so long ago we had our daughter and she was in nicu for 5 weeks so this all feels new.

I’m still in total shock that baby girl was measuring on the 90th percentile at our growth scan. How accurate are these scans because it looks like if she stays on her curve I’ll have a 9lb baby. Bit of a leap from our previous 3lb 8oz babe

mrsbgb · 13/06/2024 19:12

I've been doing the Birth Uprising hypnobirthing course and really enjoying it. The Positive Birth Company is also doing a webinar this evening - it'll be available until Sunday on YouTube they said - in case anyone's looking for other options! 9

Can anyone remember the brand of maternity dungarees that was recommended on here a few threads back? Just wanting black comfy ones , not sure if I can pull them off but they look good on other people 🤣

Lillers · 13/06/2024 20:56

@SpicyMoth Love The Birth Uprising! They’re so down to earth and have helped me feel so much more relaxed and empowered about the birth.

PoppingUp · 14/06/2024 08:10

Starting the new thread off with a moan!

I rolled over funny last night and am getting such horrible round ligament pain on my right hand side this morning. I can feel baby kicking away like normal and so am not worried about anything untoward but the muscle strain feeling is really unpleasant. Any level of bending to the right is off the cards for the day.

Really want to just wallow in the sofa but I left a couple of reports to write until today and so am going to have to grin and bear it for at least a few hours. Feeling like I'm back at school and getting told off by the teacher for leaving my homework until the last minute 😂🥲

Has anyone got any experience of belly bands? I'm wondering if investing in one for trimester three might be a good idea.

Xur · 14/06/2024 09:36

@PoppingUp mine eases with exercise and active lifestyle. If I keep active I don’t have them, if I sit too much or don’t move enough they come back.

I woke up tonight with a nosebleed with an actual period like clot coming out of my nose! I think it’s because the house was too warm, my husband is a comfort addict and likes to have a warm house, especially at night. I told him in the evening that the previous night it was too warm for me but he insisted I don’t lower it or switched it on and this night I woke up with a scary nose bleed 0400AM. It took me some 15 mins to stop it.
The blood clot that came out of my nose was like 10cm long and like a cheese string! I was shocked! I never had anything like this before. The regular pregnancy nosebleeds I had so far were light and about 2-3 minutes. Not like this. 💀

SC126 · 14/06/2024 12:36

@PoppingUp i used a belly band in my last pregnancy and I do think it definitely helped take some weight off the bump. I'm getting to the point now where I need it again as I'm in quite a bit of pain by end of the day.

Also for more moaning. To top off all the crappy pregnancy symptoms, I've now got haemorrhoids too 😩 got barely any sleep last night between heartburn, leg cramps, needing to pee and my arsehole hurting!

RachSmile · 14/06/2024 12:46

I’ll join in with the moaning - pregnancy hormones are getting me today! Was waiting all morning on a call back from my doctor about getting a fit to fly note, and they chose to ring at half twelve just as I was leaving work so I missed it! My totally logical reaction was to burst into tears 🤦🏼‍♀️ very embarrassing as they simply called again a minute later to say they were happy to write me a note and it would be ready for me to pick up whenever! I need to get a grip 😂

rupertbear91 · 14/06/2024 13:04

Can I join in the moaning too. Still feeling so dizzy, keep having episodes of not being able to catch my breath and am knackered no matter how much I sleep at night. And to top it off caught a lovely sore throat and runny nose at the hospital.

On the plus side I have my 4d scan tomorrow so trying to focus on that hopefully cheering me up!

Xur · 14/06/2024 13:42

@rupertbear91 I also have a 4d one tomorrow!!! What time is yours??

rupertbear91 · 14/06/2024 14:19

@Xur how exciting! Mines at 10:45 so hoping for a nice lie in and to go enjoy the scan feeling refreshed 😂😂 when's yours?

SpicyMoth · 14/06/2024 16:42

@PoppingUp "Has anyone got any experience of belly bands? I'm wondering if investing in one for trimester three might be a good idea."

I just got one a few days ago for my PGP and it's helped a fair bit!
Think it was Argos I found mine in~

WinsandSam · 14/06/2024 17:43

@PoppingUp I also hurt my belly during the night, rolled over and felt like muscles ripped lower abdomen.. so painful!

I'm definitely finding the more active I am the worse the pain gets. Especially on walks so think my body is telling me to chill a bit

PoppingUp · 14/06/2024 18:15

@WinsandSam ouch! I hope the pain is easing off now! I realised pushing through was making it worse so have been staying off my feet this afternoon. Paracetamol didn't help but alternating hot and cold compresses has finally made the pain disappear...I'm going to be very wary of sudden movements from now on though! 😅

Lillers · 14/06/2024 18:16

Here for a moan too!

I think I’m coming down with something - got a horrible scratchy throat that’s making me feel quite sick. I’m definitely run down - work has been really busy, plus I’ve taken on an extra short term project that pays well but means when I get home I’ve got a couple more hours of work each night, and can’t relax 100% because I’m running a team that need me to be available to get the project through in the time scale. It’s a lot of work in a short period of time, but I couldn’t turn it down with needing the money before mat leave starts. I’ve done it for several years so knew what I was letting myself in for, but my god am I tired!
