Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

@PoppingUp luckily yes it's eased off. Luckily had a scan and consultant appointment today so reassured all is well.
Baths are my evening ritual to ease the aching and stretching. Could sit in a hot bath all day 😴

Glad yours is easing off too! I swear it's just normal every day movements. We're not doing bloody gymnastics 😂

@rupertbear91 mines at 1300 😍 I can’t wait to see what baby looks like, it’s so cool as also just before Father’s Day

Cat2022 · 14/06/2024 19:32

@rupertbear91 i keep getting light headed and dizzy spells too. It’s really annoying as catches me off guard. Also making me anxious about being in the office and client site for work but I think that’s because in my last pregnancy I fainted in the office at 25 weeks as they had the heating up too high.

I also keep getting braxton hicks most days.

rupertbear91 · 14/06/2024 19:57

@Cat2022 I feel the same I'm nervous going out anywhere by myself because I feel like I'm about to pass out quite frequently and need to lay down. It's really disconcerting

MrsM89 · 14/06/2024 19:58

Slapped cheek round 2. My little girl has now got it. 🤦‍♀️. Honestly I can't see how I'll avoid it. X

Cat2022 · 14/06/2024 20:02

@MrsM89 Oh no! I got a call back to say I’m not immune so got to wait 1.5 weeks to have the blood test to see if I had it. I was ill right after DD so I’m nervous. It’s definitely doing the rounds atm as Iv heard of so many pregnant women being exposed on various pages lately.

Honeyandsunshine1 · 14/06/2024 21:01

For anyone buying plastic baby bottles, I don’t mean to be a conspiracy theorist (and absolutely feel free to ignore me) but there’s a really helpful video on TikTok (username is TaborPlace - 8th video down) which explains the dangers of young children being exposed to plastic leaching and how even though some say “BPA free” they’re still sometimes substituting it for shite plastic.

I’m personally a huge advocate for glass bottles and I know lots of people aren’t too fussed but I deffo recommend giving it a watch if you can. She talks a lot about plastic baby items and good substitutes if you’re (like me) concerned about that type of stuff ❤️❤️

Had my 25 week midwife today and everything looked good except for my bump was measuring a bit big so have been referred for a growth scan next week. The midwife didn't seem at all worried about it tho and said it's just protocol that they refer at a certain size so I'm hoping it's all chill and not a sign of anything sinister. A consultant actually took a quick peek at baby during my appt on Weds and didn't see anything untoward so he can't be that freakishly large...! Anyway what with one thing and another we are going to end up with at least three extra scans this pregnancy 🤷‍♀️

WinsandSam · 14/06/2024 21:47

@malimoon I'm seeing it as a blessing, having all the extra scans! We get to see them regularly. Hopefully all is fine for you too x

MrsM89 · 14/06/2024 22:04

@Cat2022 oh no. I'm not immune either. My gp seemed to think I need to wait 4 weeks for repeating the bloods. Xx

Hopefully all is well 🤞🏻 and you get a chance to get another cute scan photo and some more reassurance. My midwife appt yesterday they measured my bump and it was huuuge. I did say, this is a bit of an archaic way of measuring no? Some people are just bigger surely? (Like me) and she just said “yeah, we do it just to keep track. As long as your bump stays on the same trajectory throughout we’re not worried, no matter what your original measurement is”

also if it’s any consolation, I had a growth scan after that appt (not for the bump measurement, reasons completely different) and at the scan everything was absolutely fine and baby girl is on 70th percentile, just like she was at 20 week scan, so does show that you can have a bump that measures “huge” but baby is growing absolutely fine and there be no concerns. Hope that helps somewhat?? ❤️

malimoon · 14/06/2024 23:09

Thanks @Honeyandsunshine1 and @WinsandSam , I agree that it didn't feel like the most high tech way of measuring! So I'm not too stressed, mostly as well because the midwife really emphasised that she wouldn't be concerned in my position. Plus I'm tall, plus I was overweight when I got pregnant (tho haven't put much weight on since with nausea and aversions) so lots of reasons why my tummy might be bigger! I will definitely take it as a bonus chance to see the little (not so little) guy.

Cat2022 · 15/06/2024 07:25

@MrsM89 yeah 4 weeks from when the rash started/ exposure happened is when mine are booked for. Fingers crossed you don’t get it this time!

WinsandSam · 15/06/2024 08:25

Had our 25 week scan and consultant appointment yesterday. As communication is poor, they didn't know why I was in, should have been at 28 and 32 weeks. Again no GTT test mentioned despite saying I needed it last time.
Baby is just over 50th centile so bang in the middle. Previously about the same.

I'd built up to this appointment as wanted to ask for an elective section for my mental health (I can't deal with the unknown.) don't want an induction/emergency section/episiotomy..thinking they'd try and put me off. But, she was like "yes that's fine, here's a consent form." We talked about risks. However, being 40 baby needs to arrive before 40 weeks so likelihood is I'd need help delivering. Can always change my mind up to the day.

I've been crying/worrying for weeks about this appointment.. working with a therapist about my anxiety and I'm so pleased with the outcome.

Here's baby! We giggled at her nose and said we hope it's a bad angle 😂☺️

Me again, I know a few of you have mentioned dizziness.

So just went for a very short walk. Felt a bit breathless. Went up a small hill and felt super dizzy. Ears ringing and spots in my eyes. Managed to get home and get on the sofa. Checked BP and it was 69/98- very low for me..

Is this what others are experiencing?

rupertbear91 · 15/06/2024 11:16

@WinsandSam yep sounds familiar it's so off putting, I can get it even just sat down my blood pressure just drops. Thought I was going to pass out in the car this morning 😫

WinsandSam · 15/06/2024 11:23

@rupertbear91 that's so scary!! How long does it last for? I'm meant to be at a wedding later but currently not a chance I will make it

rupertbear91 · 15/06/2024 12:24

@WinsandSam I feel light headed most of the time but the bad bouts can last anything from few minutes or until I lie down or drink. We are also meant to be at a party later and I feel really nervous.

Just had our 3d scan it's so surreal seeing his little face!

WinsandSam · 15/06/2024 14:12

@rupertbear91 that's really frustrating for you. I'm not sure how you cope with it! I don't think I'm going to make this wedding as still dizzy and nauseous so likely a rest day for me. I'm due to drive and my partner isn't invited so too risky.

Cute pic 💕 especially little button nose

HRP1990 · 15/06/2024 14:21

I’ve just spent the best part of 2 days wallpapering the nursery. I think I’ve unlocked a new skill and gone cross eyed in the process trying to line everything up 😂😵‍💫

Lillers · 15/06/2024 15:06

@WinsandSam I’m really lightheaded right now. I’m sitting down and husband has just made me a sausage sandwich, but it isn’t passing yet.

I don’t know if it’s pregnancy or because I’m generally not feeling well today (think I’ve got the start of a cold). Probably a combination of both.

I think I’ll go for a lie down in a minute and hope that helps.

WinsandSam · 15/06/2024 15:07

@Lillers sounds like a day of it! I still feel off 4 hours later and in bed.. really weird. Hoping it passes soon

I would be useless at wallpapering!!!!! We have just painted the nursery this morning. Waiting for it all to be fully dry and then we are furniture building tonight!! Fun 🤣

malimoon · 15/06/2024 16:26

We put up the cot last night... Probably backwards because we haven't painted yet but my partner was seized with the urge to construct hahaha

I can't wait to get the cot/wardrobe/changer all up! Because then tomorrow I can start putting her little clothes and blankets and muslins and bits away as it's just been a dumping ground for months!!!! 🥰
