Starting a new thread. Congratulations to all the arrivals so far, can't wait to hear about all the rest of them!

After having on and off intense back pains last night I've woken up to nothing. I had a dream I was in labour tho!

Hate that for you - so frustrating

Thanks for creating a new thread.

We welcomed the rather adorable baby James to the world last Wednesday by planned c section.

This past week has been full of ups and downs (have struggled emotionally at times) but the newborn squishy cuddles have made up for it.

Feeling very guilty already about not being able to give equal time to a newborn and my 5 year old - although he is loving life. It's an emotional rollercoaster isn't it.

Congratulations to all the mummas and new arrivals and good luck to those patiently waiting x

Suchardchoccy · 13/06/2024 10:26

My sweep has been brought forward to Tuesday tho!

@waster86 congratulations!! 😍 The baby blues aren't fun are they, but sounds like you're doing amazing.

I can't remember who told me about the massaging my left breast for longer 🤔 but it's worked!!

Congratulations!!!

I’ve been having very long cramps all day. Painful enough to not ignore but not quite at the level to think it’s definitely happening. But surely this has to be it they are several minutes long and it’s been this way all bloody day.

MsNeis · 13/06/2024 15:20

Ohh, so many babies already here!! 💖Congratulations everyone!! This is beautiful!💗🤗

I've also been having what seem to me like menstrual cramps, on and off, for the past week. I'm 41 weeks +2 days, and honestly this is starting to feel rather tiresome. I'm scheduled for an induction next Monday, but I'm really hoping to start labor spontaneously before then... This last trimester has been like a roller coaster for me: I had scheduled a c-section and, when I had made up my mind about it (not an easy job!), it was cancelled. Then, I hoped for more time for my baby to come when she decided... and it seems she has taken that very seriously!!

My feelings are all over the place, to be honest: some days I feel better, but I'm tired (physically and emotionally) and also frightened... But then I think that's what it's supposed to feel like, isn't it? 😅
Anyway, I just want everything to be OK and for the both of us to be safe 🙏

I'm sorry: this was me thinking out loud. But seeing so many of you with similar stories (passing your due dates, etc) I feel very fortunate to have found this thread and you people: THANK YOU 😍

And, again, CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who have welcomed their little ones 🙌

Suchardchoccy · 13/06/2024 15:28

I'm having back pains again but the midwife said yesterday she thinks she's turned back to back 🥲 so that's what all this could be

@Anxiousheartbeat I hope it turns into something! 🤞🏻

Do you feel your baby less because of this? Movements have really lessened today but I am not sure if that’s because my stomach has been cramping for most of the day so not sure if worth the faff of going to get seen only to be told once on monitor it’s all fine!

im sorry for you - a week of this would be exhausting im exhausted and its just one day

MizzMarple · 13/06/2024 16:23

@Anxiousheartbeat i would go in. It’s not worth the risk.

beaniesunrise · 13/06/2024 16:46

Hi ladies, so just update from me - so it seems the day has arrived! I had cramps and aches in my lower abdomen all night along with the tickle cough I’ve been struggling with for the last few weeks keeping me awake. Running on no sleep.
woke up to what I thought was waters gone and the ‘show’, went into triage to get checked this morning & couple of tests & 5 hours later they confirmed my waters are gone! Also lost my mucus plug & have bloody show whilst there..

booked in for my induction tomorrow morning! Already started cramping/contractions - so if they pick up I’ll either head in tonight or be admitted tomorrow morning.

so scared & nervous 😥

DanisEndo · 13/06/2024 17:17

I love seeing these updates, so many arrivals, so many so close 🥹♥️

my midwife cancelled the 38 week appointment for this eve as I’ve been in so much lately and said everything’s looking good. Scheduled one for next week along with my last growth scan instead.

is anyone else still working? I’m fully remote now but really looking forward to finally signing off once those signs start!

oop · 13/06/2024 17:37

@Anxiousheartbeat definitely go in if you think the movements have reduced, they shouldn't decrease at the end.

@beaniesunrise good luck!!

Congratulations @waster86 !

I understand what you mean: I've had a couple of days where I've been feeling very stressed and throughout the day I haven't felt her so much, and then at the end of the day (evening and night) she's resumed her active routine as always. What I've done is that I set myself to wait a little for the evening or night (when she's always very active) to decide if I should go to check. That way, I give myself some perspective and time to not feel so stressed (which definitely for me interferes in feeling her), but at the same time I don't worry that I'm not taking care if there's something serious.
Do you recognize the pattern of her movements to determine which is her most active time?
Also, the old trick of eating something sugary (or cold) and lying down to see if she reacts.
Of course, if this doesn't sound good, or if you feel something is not right, go check: midwifes always tell me to go in if I sense some her movements decreasing.
What do you think?

This is what I’m telling myself. Usually she is a big mover so it’s a noticeable decrease but certainly she has moved about during the day and would probably be hitting the 5 times an hour mark. Midwife is coming tomorrow and maybe we can make a plan for me to go in if she’s not. It’s definitely not worth risking anything but it’s so embarrassing when you go and get hooked up and then the baby has a disco and you’re sent home like a maniac. Having some
fizzy orange juice and chocolate now
though to just see - I think I would be more likely to have gone in if not for the cramps all day, just because I sort of understand her
moving less with all the cramps.

although im
in 2 minds because she’s usually very very active at this time and she’s not really so I’m having horrible thoughts but don’t want to be dramatic/do want to sleep.

@beaniesunrise good luck - i hope stuff happens overnight naturally for you! X

Anxiousheartbeat · 13/06/2024 21:55

Now she’s parting so hard I can’t sleep 🤣 so all is fine - the magic of toblerone

good luck to everyone who has a baby tonight!

DanisEndo · 13/06/2024 22:13

@Anxiousheartbeat glad to hear!!! Sleep easier tonight

Goldie1234 · 14/06/2024 06:57

Ahh glad she perked up @Anxiousheartbeat but also hope you slept 😅 hope the midwife can give some good advice about her movements changing. I went in for the same - his movements had changed and reduced although I could still feel him, and because I was 37 weeks they kept me in and induced !

Congratulations to all the new babies, hope everyone is doing well !! And good luck to everyone close to the end 💪🏽💪🏽🍀

Wheeeeee · 14/06/2024 08:14

Congratulations @waster86 ❤️ and hope things are going well @15rainbow and @beaniesunrise !

Not much to say here. 39 weeks and no real signs apart from bump has dropped a bit. I swear I'm even getting fewer Braxton-Hicks than a couple of weeks ago 😅 I've been off work for a week now, have done far less than I intended to and am starting to feel a bit stir crazy, though lacking the impetus to do much about it 😬 it's a very strange time!

Redheadx · 14/06/2024 09:38

40+1 today had my midwife appointment. Baby isn’t fully engaged but starting to become engaged. Booked for a sweep on Tuesday with plan to induce a week on Sunday if no movement. Hoping baby hears the plan and shuffles down and comes out on its own! Hope all you other girls in the same position are hanging in there. I feel better today with a plan x

Suchardchoccy · 14/06/2024 09:39

@Redheadx ooh I have a sweep on Tuesday too! Exciting! You are a bit over a week ahead of me tho, I'm 39 weeks tomorrow

Oh! Keep me posted! I take it your baby’s head is already engaged?

MrsTeepee · 14/06/2024 09:44

So lovely to hear of the babies arriving!!! 🥰

So my 2yo DD has just been sent home from nursery with chickenpox... C section booked for Thursday... Horrendous timing!!

Thankfully I've had it already, and so has DH, but we don't have any childcare options now as nearby grandparents are nervous about being around her with it.

Looks like my week of mat leave being a chilled time to relax and be fully prepared has gone out the window!

Suchardchoccy · 14/06/2024 11:13

@Redheadx you too! Well it's my third so I don't think they engage until labour but I'm not sure. The midwife did say she's very low and my pelvis is very full. She had hiccups last night and I could feel them in my vagina 😂 is this your first?

Suchardchoccy · 14/06/2024 11:14

@MrsTeepee oh no! That is bad timing. I hope she's okay and at least she gets mummy to herself through this time 😊 sorry about your plan to chill tho, I do feel for you!

Anxiousheartbeat · 14/06/2024 12:26

Had quite a nice pep talk from
midwife today - she offered me a sweep as it’s my due date but actually she thinks due to all the contractions I’ll be 3cm dilated anyway and that baby is now engaged so I’m quite happy to give it a bit more time and see if she comes along (just not tomorrow please God).

I wonder how many Father’s Day babies there will be here?

@MrsTeepee oh no! So stressful for you! Is baby at risk of catching them or will it be past the contagious bit
