Thought it might make people laugh to hear I had a total crying meltdown in boots pharmacy today as they didn’t have my prescription 😀 the hormones are real. Everyone was staring - I am mortified!

Bless you. Last week a couple of days before I went into labour I tried to exchange a pair of White Company pyjamas DH had bought me as a treat (but in the wrong size) and they refused the exchange as he'd torn the label. Went outside and cried Blush

(All's well that ends well, I complained on Twitter & White Company head office called the branch and ordered them to process the exchange Grin)

Edgeofthesea · 10/06/2024 18:45

Thanks everybody for your congratulations 💐 It was pretty traumatic, and he really is a massive newborn, but I'm so glad he's here safe now and it's all behind us. We're making the most of peaceful feeds at the hospital before going home to adjust to the chaos of 3 boys 5 and under, and I'm feeling as well as possible, all things considered.

It's really lovely to hear of other safe arrivals too, love to hear birth stories, well done everybody 👏❤️

Thinking of you @oop , hope all goes well x

Well done for going outside to cry - very composed! Glad you got your pjs in the end

Thanks @Anxiousheartbeat! The questionable decision behind buying a new Mum expensive pure white pyjamas however is a whole thread of it's own Wink

I'm due on the 30th June so I keep flicking between this group and the July one- it's so exciting to see your babies arriving!

My partner is a teacher so gets 2 weeks off. Luckily the 6 week holidays aren't too far away so he'll be around for 8 weeks!

Keep getting a very intense pressure feeling down below, and I think I have lost some of my mucus plug. It was very thick, egg white texture, and almost yellow in colour. Baby hasn't dropped yet though so I still think I'm a while away!

Goldie1234 · 10/06/2024 21:12

Oo sounds promising @glasshalffull0 !

@CheeseWisely what a totally bizarre thing for then to refuse to exchange on ! I'd have cried too! On a non pregnant day !

Thank you so much for all the well wishes everyone. Our little girl finally arrived this afternoon. I was induced with the gel (contractions had already started and actually kept up over night so think my body was finally thinking about labour anyway). Had second gel around 11.30 and she was with us before 4.30 after an extremely fast dilation from 4cm to pushing (less than an hour).
It was awful in the sense that it was very painful and fast for me and I only had time for a bit of gas and air but I actually pushed her out myself with no instruments this time so I'm feeling very proud. Definitely never doing it again though 😂
2nd degree tear and a bit shell shocked but so so happy! And she's over half a kilo bigger than her brother was 😳

Congratulations @Edgeofthesea , sorry to hear you had a traumatic time, I actually thought of you mid labour when I had this mental urge to push but the last time I'd been examined was at 4cm half an hour before. Crazy that our bodies do what they want in labour but very glad it all worked out okay for you in the end. What an amazingly big baby!

Yay @oop massive congratulations 🩷🩷

Hellooo!

I haven't been part of the group so sorry for crashing but I'm currently in hospital with a teeny tiny newborn in my arms. Who knew childbirth was a Monday evening activity!

I'm only 38+1 and was not expecting an early baby (feeling a little hard done to that I only finished work last week). Thought I was feeling something at 18.00. Decided to get checked out. Arrived at hospital at 21.18 and baby born in the birthing pool exactly an hour later!

Currently riding high on adrenaline so will surely crash at some point. I'm also starving and wish I had some kind of chocolate based snack!

Sending luck to everyone this month!

Congratulations @cheeseplease3 and to all the other new arrivals! Baby girl born on in the water on Thursday. So lucky as contractions started not long after my water broke and we were home the next day. My milk has taken a while to come in (only just properly appeared today) so riding that emotional rollercoaster and trying to rest as much as possible.

15rainbow · 11/06/2024 05:32

Congratulations to all the new arrivals! So exciting to see so many babies being born. I'm only 38+3 with my first but my waters went at 1.30 this morning in spectacular fashion so waiting for labour to start now. If not it's an induction after 24 hours so guess one way or another we are having an early baby!

Anxiousheartbeat · 11/06/2024 07:38

Congratulations @oop and good luck @15rainbow

beaniesunrise · 11/06/2024 08:19

Congratulations @oop and all the other new mamas with cute babies! How exciting 🥹 Welcome to the new joiners, always welcome to the group. Good luck to everyone- I’m still here waiting with random early signs 😭 doesn’t help I’ve caught ANOTHER cold from DC from nursery, so been coughing my lungs out all night and feeling horrible running to the loo every cough and no sleep! Doesn’t help that the cough also triggers cramps in my legs and lower abdomen and round ligament pain.

Suchardchoccy · 11/06/2024 09:15

Congratulations to everyone who have their babies and to those that seem to be imminent!
I'm 38+3 and fed up. No amount of sex, colostrum harvesting, walking or hoovering is doing anything. Just the normal Braxton hicks

DanisEndo · 11/06/2024 10:29

So many congrats due!!! Welcome to all the new babies to the world and the new joiners to the group.

Anxiousheartbeat · 11/06/2024 10:41

Are anyone else’s braxton hicks painful? Google says they aren’t supposed to be but they are!

CBM40 · 11/06/2024 12:43

Fabulous news @oop and congratulations to everyone else that's met their wee ones over the past few days!!! Currently getting into the swing of things and thankfully most things seem to be coming back to me after 15 years haha. So anyone else with big age gaps, don't worry, it's still all in there 😂

MrsTeepee · 11/06/2024 20:55

@Anxiousheartbeat Yes! Not all, but some have been for me.

I rang up a little while ago as I was worried when I was getting a lot at 36 weeks and they said as long as they're short (I think less than a minute, or maybe less than 30 seconds... I can't remember now sadly) then they won't actually be doing anything to your cervix. They're meant to only actually dilate your cervix when they're painful, frequent and longer in length. They also told me to keep an eye on movements though and if I was concerned about baby at all to come in. How painful are you finding them?

Catson · 11/06/2024 21:37

Yes @Anxiousheartbeat some of mine are quite sore

MizzMarple · 11/06/2024 21:47

In a previous pregnancy I had an irritable uterus so could be that rather than Braxton Hicks? The name did make me laugh - like even my uterus was pissed off with being pregnant.

Anxiousheartbeat · 12/06/2024 08:07

Some of them are so painful I have to stop and catch my breath. I’ve had a few close together and quite long which have felt real and then after a couple of those they stop! Tbh I had totally forgotten what a mindfuck this end stage is.
