@glasshalffull0 I was getting a heavy feeling in my pelvis when walking a couple of weeks before labour, maybe about 4 days before I started feeling pressure on my cervix. Waters started to break and bloody show started on my due date with contractions increasing over the day but he wasn't born until early morning 40+2

That’s really interesting I’ve noticed this week a really heavy weight in my pelvis when walking and I’m 38+3 now.

I was hoping to still have a week at least so that’s reassuring aha

Hotmalibu94 · 16/06/2024 13:41

@Mountainview8 ooh interesting. I've felt like she was lower and causing more pressure for a couple of weeks and I started getting lightning crotch on Friday so maybe my girly is going to start making an appearance soon 😂 possibly wishful thinking but 🤞

Nesting fully kicked in yesterday too 😂

Anxiousheartbeat · 16/06/2024 16:14

Really had a feeling it would be today but nope. Not sure I can cope with everyone at the school gate tomorrow - have so many people messaging me to ask if I’ve had her 😫

MizzMarple · 16/06/2024 16:28

@Anxiousheartbeat people who do that can fuck off! Either I’ve had the baby and wanted you to know so I’ll have told you, or I’m in labour so too busy to update you, or there’s nothing to say.

I am getting so much grumpier as the days go on though. Thought I was in labour yesterday but it petered out. Which is good as I’ve got my c section booked for Tuesday and that’ll be so much calmer than anything else but I’m so fed up with being pregnant now.

Redheadx · 16/06/2024 17:21

@Anxiousheartbeat I feel for you! We are both in the same position. I didn’t go to church this morning as I couldn’t face everyone asking me. It’s so difficult. Everyone is starting to annoy me saying it’s because I won’t relax! It’s hard to relax when you don’t know everyday what is coming. I hope your ok 👍 nearly there x

Mumormummy · 16/06/2024 18:50

I’ve been getting this from my mum, had to tell her to stop messaging me as I will inform her when anything happens.
last week I had my routine midwife appointment which happened to be at 3pm so I couldn’t do the school run, I had 2 mums message me to ask if i was ok…

MizzMarple · 16/06/2024 19:06

Is anyone still pregnant absolutely shattered? All I want to do is sleep.

DanisEndo · 16/06/2024 19:29

@MizzMarple absolutely. shattered.

Yes! Haven’t had this with the others but I need a daily nap this time.

glad everyone else also fucked off and grumpy and sick of feeling harassed! We can all be grumpy together. Midwife wants to do a sweep Thursday at 40+6 so there’s light at the end of the birth canal….

Yes / so hard to relax/plan anything/know if someone needs to do the school run for you! X

Two days to go / one really, as only tomorrow and Tuesday is the big day! Rest up tomorrow xx

hi all. I’m 39 weeks tomorrow and no signs yet. I only get some very light cramping after sex or clary sage oil aromatherapy which lasts for a few hours and then nothing again. A week ago the baby wasn’t even engaged. We’ll see tomorrow what they say. A bit afraid to go overdue as the baby boy keeps measuring on 70-80th percentile and I’m petite.
Main thing I learned so far is that pregnancy isn’t supposed to feel like an illness… 1st timer here haha. When I felt absolutely exhausted - it was anemia which wasn’t diagnosed for a month “because you’re pregnant and it’s normal to get tired” as my gp said. Tiredness was completely gone 2 days after I started double dose of Ferrograd C. Still on it and sleep like a baby (sorry!).
When I felt very hot and thirsty and couldn’t sleep in a room at 20 degrees it was diabetes… Gone within 24 hours of starting the diet.
When it started to hurt in my hips turning in bed and getting up/sitting down again the only thing I heard “it’s normal in pregnancy”. Gone after 2 visits to a chiropractor who said my hips were one an inch higher than another.
Every time it was me to sort the things out not the doctors. Now I honestly feel fine (sorry all!) just very annoyed with the diet and eating by the clock. But not exhausted, not unwell or anything. It’s sad how much advocating for ourselves we need to do…
On a positive note - just done collecting colostrum! Almost 3 weeks to fill in these 15 syringes - 2 hours per day. I feel so proud of myself 😀about 45ml in there.

I feel you re the hips in bed I’ve had that for a few weeks it’s horrible

Budge up on the grumpy bench...! I am shattered and emotional and feel like I'm being a terrible Mum to my DS1. Admittedly he is being quite challenging at the moment but that's understandable really - he didn't ask for all this and I feel so guilty on top of all the rest of it Sad

On the plus side I've started getting some mild period style cramping so hopefully that's my body slowly starting to gear up!

Welcome to the grumpy bench!

any night time happenings for anyone? I’ve been up since 4.44 with very mild cramps and can’t get back to bollocking sleep as now I’m anticipating stuff happening. Have regrets about staying up until 23.30 watching MAFS and have no reason to suspect this cramping is labour anymore than the other cramping but for some reason I do - bound to be posting in a few hours that it stopped and I’m fed up.

it’s so hard knowing at what point to put the labour plan in place/remove any children etc

Suchardchoccy · 17/06/2024 08:54

Yep I'm on the grumpy bench too, and the absolutely shattered bench. I feel the same, I can't give my 2.5 yo and 1 yo as much attention as I would like so I'm feeling very guilty. I also understand the "it's normal to feel like that in pregnancy" I've had that from doctors, basically just put up with it, it will go after birth. I've got my sweep tomorrow at 39+3, it's got to work because she is so low it feels like she's going to drop out - TMI but I can't stop needing the toilet but there's nothing left??

Wow well done on the colostrum!! My midwife was impressed when I said I had 11ml frozen, now I have around 20ml so 45ml is amazing!! She didn't have anymore syringes to give me at my last appointment so I started using Calpol ones haha

Wheeeeee · 17/06/2024 09:16

I am also very impressed with the colostrum - so far I've managed to get one single, solitary drop 😅 I didn't have any success expressing before birth last time and ended up breastfeeding for 2+ years so I'm not too worried, but it would be nice to have a little stash in case of a slow start.

Suchardchoccy · 17/06/2024 09:26

@Wheeeeee 2+ years is incredible. And well done to you for breastfeeding when they can bite! I breastfed my first for 6 months and my second for 10 months and I did well with the colostrum for both of them. My midwife said she could never express antenatally. Our bodies are so strange aren't they

Feeling like the worst parent at the end is the nature of the beast - you are very much not alone. Too tired to do anything fun, snappy and hormonal etc. can’t wrangle them. I always spent the last few weeks panicking about having another when im
doing such a shit job with the existing, and then I remember that the day the new one comes I get the superwoman hormones and adrenaline and it’s actually much easier! You will be ok and I am here in solidarity - your children are very little and needy ages too!

this thread is a godsend tbh it’s so nice seeing other women in the same boat.

my cramps aren’t fucking progressing but still here come the fuck on cramps.

I don’t bother expressing colostrum as like you I’ve done the BF for 2-3 years each time (sometimes overlapping which was not easy) so I just assume it will be ok but I have to say I am also extremely impressed with the sheer volume
of colostrum in the photo! Very well
done @Ad12345678

Wheeeeee · 17/06/2024 09:43

@Suchardchoccy "bodies are so strange" = So. Very. True. 🤣

DanisEndo · 17/06/2024 09:49

@Ad12345678 that much colostrum is insanely amazing! Well done!!

@Anxiousheartbeat i was also up all last night with cramping. Some really uncomfortable some light but on and off all night and morning. I did worry at one point that it was leading to actual contractions but then they eased up.

@Suchardchoccy sending love, good luck with the sweep tomorrow.

Suchardchoccy · 17/06/2024 10:40

@Anxiousheartbeat you're so right about the superwoman hormones! I just want to be a normal human being again.

I hope your cramps turn into the real thing, I've been having the same especially in the evening/night 😫

Suchardchoccy · 17/06/2024 10:40

@DanisEndo thank you! I'm very anxious.
