Went in for a sweep today, had a heart beat check which picked up ectopic beats so ended up in hospital on monitoring, have a scan booked for Tuesday and then need a consultant appointment too 😔 want her here but hoping she holds off until after the scan now to make sure her little heart is ok 😭

Hi @Moolywooly please don't torture yourself with the miles circuit, it's designed to open mid pelvis for engaged babies and you (and I) need to do exercises to open the top of it and hopefully help them engage. I found that they are pelvic tilts, deep squats and the fucking ball circles... and walking.
But personally all these things seem to work for me only for a day and in the morning I wake up with the baby so high again that I can put a finger between his head and my pubic bone...

Feeling mentally exhausted now... 40 weeks on Monday, baby not engaged, doctors saying he absolutely should have done it by now (1st baby) and wanting to keep me in hospital from coming Monday until either engagement or delivery. They are afraid of cord prolapse in case my waters break with baby being so high and the cord gets washed down and compressed by baby's head. It's quite rare but very dangerous. I think I'm going to decline and stay at home (will come for monitoring of course) but at the same time making this decision is quite scary... Had a proper meltdown yesterday. I think next person saying 'enjoy your pregnancy' is going to regret saying it.

No signs, no cramping, nothing at all. Feeling under pressure as I have GDM, baby is measuring a bit big and their policy is to induce at 41 weeks the latest in this case. The consultant said they will attempt induction and vaginal birth but with baby so high (floating) it's almost always emergency section in the end... oh and I'm so sick of that diet! No milky ways or ben&jerry for me. I think I'm going to eat only chocolate after having the baby haha

oh and I can't see the ball anymore and everything in the house is smelling of clary sage yes... our poor cat, he has to put up with it hehe

DanisEndo · 22/06/2024 22:31

Just collected 8ml of colostrum in one sitting and feeling very proud of the minimelons aha now just want the watermelon to get a shift on!!! Due date is Thursday and everyone is gagging to meet her

Wheeeeee · 22/06/2024 22:37

We've had a rollercoaster couple of days - some potentially serious issues came up in my 40 week appointment and I had to be admitted straight away. After lots of monitoring and discussions with the doctors about best next steps it luckily all resolved itself and I ended up going into labour on the antenatal ward after a sweep. Had a mad fast labour again - 5 cm to baby out in 15 minutes. He is gorgeous and we are so happy 🥰

Positive labour vibes for everyone still waiting 💪🏻

Ad12345678 · 22/06/2024 23:13

Congrats @Wheeeeee and well done @DanisEndo I have never managed that much in one go!

Suchardchoccy · 22/06/2024 23:44

Congratulations @Wheeeeee 🥰

I've been having back contractions and Braxton hicks for the last 3 hours been timing them but they are irregular. And DD1 and DH have both got a tummy bug 😃 which means I have to clean all the sick

Moolywooly · 22/06/2024 23:48

@Ad12345678 thats really interesting, I have days when I’m sure baby is engaged or at least slightly engaged, maybe they’re slipping out of place too. It’s only my first too so I thought that wasn’t meant to happen but who knows. I’ve had a day off from the ball and the exercises and even walking, I just needed to think about something else. So this definitely makes me feel less guilty too!
no ones told me I need to stay in hospital though so that’s really interesting that’s the advice for you.
completely agree I am sick and tired of hearing just enjoy it, get some rest now before the baby comes, like I can sit in any position at all without pain

Sorry to hear other people are feeling frustrated too.

@DanisEndo I can barely do a ml in a day!

@Wheeeeee congratulations!

went into the ward on Friday to be induced but was already contracting 10 mins apart so left to go into labor myself after a second sweep! Baby Boy was born 22nd June 2024 @ 20:16hours weighing 7lbs 1oz 🩵 he is absolutely perfect and we are head over heels in love with him!!

DanisEndo · 23/06/2024 11:24

@Ad12345678 @Moolywooly I struggled to get 0.5ml the other day after 3 hours of “relaxing” and trying so gave it a couple days of not trying, noticed some leaking yesterday so thought I should give it another go and it’s like I couldn’t stop!!! It just kept coming!!

massive congrats @user1473880439 and @Wheeeeee !!

seems like a lot of mixed reactions to sweeps. Really hoping those still in limbo have their babies in their arms asap

im currently 39+3 and soooo want things to progress soon.

Anxiousheartbeat · 23/06/2024 20:52

Omg
@Wheeeeee and @user1473880439 congratulations!

after 3rd sweep yesterday and lots of strong contractions which tapered off, and a huge crying meltdown, I went to bed and woke up with constant pain (not coming and going, constant, and a hard stomach). Called homebirth midwife and took her advice to go to triage, terrified something was seriously wrong.

got there and she was fine on the monitor etc but we were offered waters being popped. I had a very strong gut feeling that if we didn’t do it today; we would be back there on Thursday. Seemed to me at 41+2 and 3 sweeps down, all the stopping and starting for a week meant something was afoot.

popped waters and labour took one hour, start to finish. Baby girl arrived at 1.25pm, 8lbs/3.6kg and home in time for dinner and the boy’s bath!

happy newborn snuggles to everyone also delivered, and massive sympathy for anyone who is not yet xx

Redheadx · 23/06/2024 20:56

@Anxiousheartbeat @Wheeeeee @user1473880439 congratulations!! I am honestly so happy for you all. Hopefully it’s my turn next.

I had my induction today. I had the cooks balloon inserted after 4 attempts due to my cervix being so far but I am cramping etc now but I think this is normal after having it inserted. Hoping this works!

Eeeeeee so happy for you! So please you’re finally getting those cuddles

also everything crossed for you @Redheadx !!!

Anxiousheartbeat · 24/06/2024 08:42

Thinking of you @Redheadx

Redheadx · 24/06/2024 09:12

@Anxiousheartbeat thank you that’s so kind.

Balloon still in. Doesn’t feel like anything has happened. If not by time I go upto the hospital I have decided on a C section as I have tried so much and I’m mentally done.

Mumormummy · 24/06/2024 12:48

i finally got my bed on labour ward Saturday evening after being admitted Thursday for induction.

Baby boy arrived at 9:59 am yesterday weighing 7.5lb. Rather difficult birth, so glad he’s here, never again!
Home now and enjoying our newborn bubble as a family of 4, even with a 9 year age gap!

congratulations to any other births Ive missed and I hope those of you still waiting I hope your time arrives quickly!

Suchardchoccy · 24/06/2024 16:58

Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies the last few days!
I went into labour Saturday night (due date) and she was born 13:12 yesterday at home in the pool with not even gas and air 😩
I had a retained placenta and baby had concerns with her oxygen so we got blue lighted to hospital I got sorted out and she's been on NICU last night she's been discharged to labour ward with me for tonight hopefully home tomorrow 🤞🏻

Anxiousheartbeat · 24/06/2024 18:42

@Suchardchoccy @Mumormummy so many congratulations!!

well done - sounds quite dramatic.

this has been an amazing lesson for me in trusting your gut - I’m absolutely positive that my placenta had stopped working and she wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t had her yesterday!

MizzMarple · 24/06/2024 19:31

Congratulations @Suchardchoccy! Hope you’re doing ok. That sounds very scary.

And congratulations to @Mumormummy and those ive missed. Hope everyone who is still pregnant is coping ok with the heat.

Wheeeeee · 24/06/2024 21:11

Congratulations @user1473880439 @Anxiousheartbeat @Mumormummy and @Suchardchoccy! I hope everything is going well for you all ❤️

DanisEndo · 25/06/2024 13:25

DanisEndo · 25/06/2024 13:28

are there many other people still on here waiting? Such a wonderful influx of babies recently I feel I might be in the minority still waiting for our cuddles 😂

CheshGirl · 25/06/2024 14:36

I'm waiting, but due date from my calculation is 2nd July, NHS is 26th June

Feeling a lot of pressure in my bum!

GeeinItLaldyX · 25/06/2024 14:53

In waiting! 40+6 today. Had a midwife appointment at lunch time and baby now finally engaged so managed to get a sweep and now have lots of bloody gunk exiting so hopefully that's a good sign 🤞😂
