We did it before and we can do it again 🤪

MizzMarple · 20/06/2024 09:13

It’s the anticipation that’s awful I think as there’s nothing you can do about it. Once it’s started at least you’ve got something to focus on.

Suchardchoccy · 20/06/2024 09:21

💪🏻💪🏻 it's true

Redheadx · 20/06/2024 09:29

I hope everyone is well. Good luck with sweeps etc I have got over the fear as I just want baby out now I suppose that’s the good thing to come from being over due that you become over it. 41 weeks exactly today. Had cramps last night and this morning but nothing intense.

Anxiousheartbeat · 20/06/2024 09:50

Wheeeeee · 20/06/2024 08:53

If it's any consolation I also feel the fear big time if I actually stop and think about it. I'm just trying to distract myself from thinking too much! Fingers in ears, lalala 😁

This is also my method 🤣🤣 la la la la

midwife has gone to another birth and the other midwife I spoke to was saying she couldn’t come until the afternoon and I fully had a crying breakdown because I want stuff to happen whilst other children are at school! Anyway hopefully she’s now coming this morning.

how much are people just getting on with their life? I feel like mine is on hold so much as I don’t want to be driving around with contractions etc and that’s not helping

Happy 41 weeks! 🎉

@Anxiousheartbeat I could have written this yesterday! Went in for an aromatherapy appointment and possible sweep if she was more engaged, got through discussing the pros/cons of a sweep and then the midwife got called away to a labourer and had to rebook me for Saturday 😭 I'm 40+2 today so keen to try a sweep and get her out! She's definitely feeling lower so I'm hoping she's more engaged now 🤞
But I had a cry on my way home because I was just frustrated and didn't even get to find out if she'd at least made progress from her position last week! 🙈

Suchardchoccy · 20/06/2024 10:21

@Wheeeeee yep 😂 also it has to happen so tough is another way to think about it 😭

@Anxiousheartbeat yes the childcare is worrying me about the homebirth, I'm not so bothered about them being home at the time although it would be better if they were in nursery but If I need to go to the hospital I will have to go on my own and DH stay with the girls, another thing that's worrying me

Suchardchoccy · 20/06/2024 08:53

This is my third and I'm also terrified

@Wheeeeee @Suchardchoccy im trying to shift the fear by looking at all his wee clothes and focusing on the end result 🩵. Had a bit of a cry/break down this morning saying I can’t do it but I can! I can! Hopefully tomorrow when I go in things are progressing and I’m more than 1cm and I don’t need the pessarys and best case scenario would be I do not need the hormone drip 😖

Generally people always say they come at night when you’re having a homebirth, because you don’t have to worry about them so your body lets go. hopefully this happens for you and I’m sure you won’t need to go to hospital.

mine are shocking sleepers and all end up in my bed so nighttime is the worst case scenario for me and I need it during the day!

im sorry - hug!

yes by Saturday you’ve had 2 full days for stuff to have happened alone, or for things to have progressed. The further from your due date the more likely a sweep will work anyway.

im 40+6 and this sweep had better fucking work 🤣😭🤦🏻‍♀️🧹

Hotmalibu94 · 20/06/2024 10:38

@Anxiousheartbeat yeah that's the silver lining, potentially be more effective (or not but I'm going with PMA 😂) the further past my due date we are 😂 I definitely think I've dropped since last week and the student midwife agreed who saw me last week so hopefully things are happening in there 🤞
Fingers crossed for you that today's sweep does something for you!

Suchardchoccy · 20/06/2024 11:04

@user1473880439 yes me too! And just thinking about having her here 🩷 and it all being over. We absolutely can do it 💪🏻 but it's easy to say we can't

@Anxiousheartbeat yes night would be better I suppose. Mine also come in with us most nights 😂 but they have been better lately. The midwife warned me that if the hospital is busy they might not be able to accommodate a homebirth as the midwives get pulled. So it's sent me into overdrive panic

Anxiousheartbeat · 20/06/2024 11:49

Bit of a mixed sweep - on one hand I’m only 1.5-2cm and the cervix is quite far back still. On the other hand the baby’s head was insanely low and she thinks when this starts it’s going to be extremely fast as the baby is clearly there and ready to go. Plus she’s no longer back to back.

she did an extremely through sweep and the pressure is intense so all I need are some contractions to start and off we go!

@Suchardchoccy which hospital are you at? I’m sure they are just saying that to manage expectations and will have enough midwives to send to you x

Anxiousheartbeat · 20/06/2024 16:33

Anyone had little bits of something on the loo roll when they wiped? Like lots of little specs of something

Suchardchoccy · 20/06/2024 17:56

@Anxiousheartbeat Anything? 🤞🏻 My hospital is mid Cheshire, I suppose it varies from trust to trust and staffing levels/amount of women in labour etc. I hope it all works out tho, the last thing I need is stress in labour.

Also I have been having a lot of discharge for the past two weeks but I don't think it's the plug

Redheadx · 20/06/2024 18:17

@Anxiousheartbeat nope nothing unusual apart from usual discharge for me.. sorry I can’t help.

mamahg · 20/06/2024 18:43

I’m currently in hospital waiting to be induced and officially become part of the 2u2 club 😀. I was supposed to have been induced a few hours ago but I kept having tightenings (3 every 10 minutes), so they are holding off inserting the pessary as it could overestimulate my uterus - they don’t want more than 4 tightenings/contractions within those 10 minutes as that could be too much for baby.

Anyone else had this happen to them and what happened next? I don’t want to be sent home, as I am being induced for overall reduced movements since 34 weeks and baby’s growth dipped a bit on Mondays growth scan. But I also don’t want to sit in this hospital for days on end. 😅 i miss my little one too much.

No I actually want to cry I’m trying to stay positive but obviously we had to discussion the idea of induction next week ant 41+5 which would mean bye bye homebirth and my final sweep being monday 41+3. I’ve had some contractions but not growing closer and I’ve just had enough tbh - I was really expecting her to come and this feels like our lives are just on hold waiting.

wish I had taken a photo of the strange flecks to show midwife as I’m very unclear on wtf it is as mucus plug is gone.

@mamahg i don’t know about any of that but I really hope your tightenings turn into labour and you have your baby and can go home!

user1473880439 · 20/06/2024 22:06

I’ve just lost a bit of my mucus plug!! Due to be induced tomorrow at 4pm as well..

@Anxiousheartbeat after my sweep yesterday I had bitty discharge if that’s what you mean? It was white but bitty/gritty

MrsTeepee · 21/06/2024 00:35

Hi all, our little one arrived today via planned c section, all very calm but I did have quite a few tightenings this morning and last night, just to keep me on edge I think!! Just wanted to say a massive thank you to you all and wishing you all happy dilation thoughts!!!

@Anxiousheartbeat - hope you work out rhw botty discharge mystery and things get going for you in time for a home birth. Just a thought, have you tried the miles circuit? And maybe aromatherapy with clary sage and rose oil? Worth a shot if not already as it worked a treat with me last time!

GeeinItLaldyX · 21/06/2024 07:21

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well, so lovely to see these babies being born 😍

I'm now 40+2 today and still no sign of baby coming at all. Had midwife earlier in week at 39+6 and baby wasn't even engaged so feeling a bit disheartened about it all. Trying everything I can to get them engaged but have been walking loads every day with dog etc for whole of pregnancy and feels like if they aren't there by now anything I do probably isnt going to work😓

So many congratulations to you!!! Hope you’re not in too much pain and able to enjoy snuggles. ❤️

what is the miles circuit? I’m doing all the oil etc but nothing. Feel reassured that @user1473880439 youve also had some bitty discharge and pleased you’re losing mucus plug - yay! Good luck for 4pm ❤️

have woken up to a few contractions but now I am not going to believe them unless I’m doubled over in agony

Moolywooly · 21/06/2024 09:18

Hi all, can I join you very late
I’m 40+3 with dc1 and absolutely no signs of arrival
have been to the midwife this morning who said baby isn’t even engaged. I’ve been doing spinning babies and the miles circuit for weeks with no success so far.

congratulations to everyone who has already had their baby!

user1473880439 · 21/06/2024 09:30

so I think I’m having contractions and I know this is going to sound silly but I’m not 100%. I’ve basically been up all night with this really tense pain in my back when it comes it spreads to my stomach and it gets tight and hard. I feel like I need to rock back and fourth or get on my feet and away from side to side until it passes. Once it passes, tummy is soft again and just a dull ache in back/lower tummy. Due to go in at 4pm for induction today!
