Congratulations @MrsTeepee @user1473880439 sounds like contractions my midwife advised to get in the bath for 20 mins when you get out if you feel you have to get back in the bath don’t! Phone the hospital.

im in the worst mood ever. 41 weeks 1 day no sign! I have the midwife at 12pm and im ready to tell her book me in for an induction. I really can’t take the mental torture anymore. I have absolutely no signs!

That does sound like it’s it, particularly if you are having to do things to get through the pain. I really, really hope it is!! Keep us posted - eek!

@Moolywooly welcome - lots of us also overdue and pissed off so you are in great company 😀 I was also late to the party and tbh this thread has been a godsend for me, for emotional and mental support.

im running a bath now! Not quite sure what the deal is if I still go at 4pm or not

@Redheadx yeah I'm definitely going to ask for induction if I'm still pregnant by my next sweep 40+3 on Tuesday

Sorry just saw this! They have mentioned induction at 41+5 and I’m 41 exactly today. Going to have another sweep Monday 41+3.

basically I am extremely keen to avoid induction given 1) means no homebirth and 2) I did have a terrible experience with the first birth and induction (sorry to everyone who is having one - I’m sure we were just pretty unlucky! He was also back to back which couldn’t have helped)

Can the midwife check how far things are progressing when she comes? Then at least you know where you’re at! And hopefully you’re somewhere 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

41+5 😩 I don't think I can wait that long! Yeah the downside is the no homebirth definitely. I've never been induced so I have no idea what they're like, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Can you have an epidural with an induction? That's the only thing I can think well at least if I have to have an induction I will take all the pain relief I can take

My two have a birthday party tomorrow (coincidentally on my due date) and I was so so so hoping she would be here for that, looks like I'll be going with them as a penguin

sorry for the TMI (but isn’t that what childbirth is about) but a large bit of mucus plug literally fell out of me (still not wearing pants in order to manifest a head coming out - lol) whilst I was walking around. Surely that means cervix is open?!

You can have an epidural with induction so there’s that going for you!

i know How you feel re birthday party. My eldest two have sports day on Tuesday and I want to take her along but if she comes on Monday it’s a bit fresh isn’t it or do you think it’s fine? Not sure when I can take her out (if she ever arrives)

Ah it's so annoying not knowing and not being able to plan. I suppose it depends how you're feeling! I remember asking my midwife with my first, when she came for my postnatal check if I could take her out or if I had to wait for vaccinations 🤣 by your fourth I would say you're a pro by now!

I’m considering requesting my third and final sweep tomorrow at 41+1 i am not sure I can wait until Monday and if it doesn’t work surely she will come by herself anyway within the next few days

Final midwife appointment update.. head not fully engaged couldn’t do another sweep. Induction booked for Sunday at 3pm.
I think I have been losing my mucus plug all morning.. green/yellow snot like did anyone have this ?

really seriously considering a C - section rather than an induction and just take the longer recovery at the other end as it seems to me too many things can not work with an induction and then end up with a C section anyway

im sorry it didn’t go how you wanted it to - very frustrating indeed, and I hope you are ok/not too upset.

re induction/c section; it’s a tricky one, isn’t it? I always said if I had to have another induction I would just get a c section but it’s abdominal surgery and I’m not sure it’s preferable to induction, however balls that can be. You just need to weigh up your feelings and do what’s right for you!

On the plus side, at least you know on Sunday things will be happening, and you could always get lucky and stuff kicks off tomorrow! I suppose if you go into induction in a decent frame of mind and they have the gas and air ready nice and early it could all be pleasant. It’s just a bit of a faff - but then it’s a faff waiting around for the baby isn’t it so you may as well be in process!

@Anxiousheartbeat I thought it was my mucus plug. Is it only a good sign if it has red blood throughtout? I feel a little crampy now I’m praying this is it!

yeah it’s a hard decision ie induction or c section. I keep going back and forward. I really just want the smoothest journey but doesn’t everyone.

Ah I've been having that green/yellow snot too but I just thought it was discharge 🤔 I've been expressing colostrum like mad in the hopes to turn Braxton hicks into real contractions.

@Redheadx yes definitely weigh up the pros and cons of induction and c section, either way you will have baby very soon!! At least an induction date is a date!

Mucus plug does not need to be bloody, no!

Feeling a bit behind everyone at the moment. 39+1 and no suggestion of sweeps or anything yet.

Had our final growth scan today and she’s measuring well! 23rd percentile which is consistent with where she’s been throughout. confirmed she’s reeeeal low and just said to keep up the walking etc.

lots of lower back pain and hip pain and still cramping some nights.
