Aw I really feel for you all, it's so uncomfortable at the end. I still can't believe I went 11 days over and had to be induced. I was so miserable by the end!

I'm finding newborn life much easier than those last weeks of pregnancy, the actual joy of being able to bend forward and to last multiple hours before going for a wee!

It goes so fast once they're here too, can't believe my little girl is already 11 days old.

Still no baby 😫😫😫😫😫 41+1 today

how are you @Redheadx and @Suchardchoccy ?

Redheadx · 22/06/2024 08:30

@Anxiousheartbeat still no baby! I thought with all the signs yesterday something might of happened during the night but nope. Think the induction is the only thing going to help this little one along 😫 how you feeling x

glasshalffull0 · 22/06/2024 08:41

Has anyone else had a sudden big increase in clear slippery discharge? Every time I wipe when I go to the toilet there’s loads! One time I wiped there was a very small thin steak of blood but other than that it’s been clear

I have midwife coming here within the next hour for the third sweep. They keep on being like “are you SURE you want this sweep now? It’s the last one”.

yes, im
sodding sure. If it works now it’s better for me at the weekend than on Monday. Just get on with it.

really feeling the pressure as only 4 more days until induction.

also been up since 5.30 due to anticipation so shattered.

thing is for all of us it can’t go on much longer 🤣😭😫

@glasshalffull0 sounds like you’re using your mucus plug bit by bit. This mucus plug thing is so gross it goes on and on and on

Redheadx · 22/06/2024 09:50

@Anxiousheartbeat good luck with your sweep! You may aswell just do it especially if it works better for you at the weekend. you still have a bit of time the midwife’s recommend I don’t go over 41+3 and that is tomorrow so my days of waiting are up unless it happens today.

i am still deciding between an induction or C section. Part of me wants it over so just say a C section.

Hotmalibu94 · 22/06/2024 10:17

I'm only 40+4 and nobody has mentioned induction needing to be earlier than 42 weeks for me so glad I have the time but equally want her here asap now 😭
Off to the midwife for a (hopefully) sweep this morning and if not successful I'll have another on Thursday I think which will be 41+2.

Just hoping she's much more engaged at least 😅

Anxiousheartbeat · 22/06/2024 11:35

Baby’s hand is over her bloody face so although my cervix “melted”’to 4cm when touched, it isn’t getting the pressure from her head because it’s not chin tucked in at the right angle because of her hand! She managed to get hand around head several times for sweep and having some cramps so my god I hope this is it.

if not we have induction booked in for 41+6 on Thursday which will be straight to popping waters - no pessary. So happy with that but really need it to just happen now.

@Redheadx it is such a tricky decision for you I feel for you! LMK what you decide - no right or wrong xx x

how are you @Redheadx and @Suchardchoccy ?

It's my due date today 😭 my first two were born on their due dates so everyone is expecting this one to be bitten on her due date too! I doubt it!!
Good luck with the sweep today, and good luck with your decision @Redheadx what have they said they recommend?

*born not bitten 🤣

@Anxiousheartbeat hoping this is it for you! You definitely seem to get more info than I do my midwife doesn’t even check my cervix I need to go to hospital for that. Can the baby move its hand back? Sorry I’m clueless?

@Suchardchoccy they just said it’s totally uptoo me. They gave me the pros and cons of both. I am thinking I might try the balloon and if that doesn’t work baby obviously isn’t ready to come then I’ll just go for a C section. Then at least I have tried it. I feel it’s hard to make an informed decision because the mid wife doesn’t check my cervix so I don’t know if since Monday if I have dilated anymore but since I have lost my mucus plug I’m hoping I have and baby just needs a nudge.

It’s a great plan to just see how cervix is doing and assess then. Also to try balloon (although im
still not sure what this is) and then you’ve tried something. Can they not just pop waters in birth centre?

re the hand in face - yes she can move it. She can also be born like that it’s just that it’s preventing her head from Being in the optimal position to move down firmly against cervix to progress.

im
about to have another bath in the last of my Clary sage 🤣 I’ve had a very extremely strong contractions which made me think this was it but spaced apart hope they keep coming!!!! But then it’s the story of my week 🤦🏻‍♀️😭😫

Anxiousheartbeat · 22/06/2024 13:03

@Redheadx

also why can’t they check your cervix at home?! Maybe they are just checking mine as it’s happening during the sweep though?

Hmm I think the midwife should be checking your cervix during the sweeps at least? Yeah maybe tell them you want to give it a try but if nothing comes of it within so many hours or whatever then go for the c section, see what they say. I hate making decisions!

Redheadx · 22/06/2024 16:35

@Suchardchoccy @Anxiousheartbeat Because the head fell out of being engaged she has no longer been doing sweeps so hasn’t been checking my cervix. She advised I need to be in hospital for that incase of cord prolapse. Very annoying so I have had minimal information since Monday.

I feel mentally ready for tomorrow now. Nothing will happen today/tonight.. I am wishful thinking it will happen. I’m so ready to get going now.

I hope it happens for you girls soon!

Mumormummy · 22/06/2024 17:37

Hey 👋🏻
well I was called in at 5pm on Thursday to be induced with the balloon catheter… i am
still on the induction ward, waiting for a bed on delivery so they can break my waters. I’ve had to stay in too which is absolutely driving me insane and I am like and emotional wreck.
If anyone is due to have the balloon induction it’s not that bad however the pains for the first 6 hours were intense, it did do its job as I dilated to 3cm.
good luck to those of you still waiting. Hope our one arrives soon and it all goes well ☺️

Redheadx · 22/06/2024 17:52

@Mumormummy aw bless you I can imagine how mentally tough this is but you got this mama! Your little one will be here soon!.

I have this scheduled for tomorrow at 3pm. Were you dilated at all before it was put in? Did you take any pain meds? How come you have to stay in?

x

Mumormummy · 22/06/2024 19:42

@Redheadx
I’m sure before she put it in she said I was around 1-1.5cm, I didn’t take any pain relief but they did say they had gas and air available if needed.
I have had to stay in due to having 1 case of reduction movements and baby’s growth has slowed down.
Having another sweep done soon so hoping there’s been some change 🤞🏻
Good luck for your induction

Redheadx · 22/06/2024 19:47

@Mumormummy ah I see!

good luck with your sweep ❤️

thank you!

CheshGirl · 22/06/2024 20:00

39 weeks on Tuesday with baby number 3.
Delivery will be a homebirth again like last time, will not be accepting any form of induction including sweeps but feeling very ready for baby to arrive!

Keep telling myself - Baby will come when baby is ready!

Anyone waiting for baby... read Dr Sara Wickham "In Your Own Time", it's brill.

Have had lots of braxton hicks and dull period like pains for a fortnight, but prodromal labour can be common in subsequent pregnancies!

Hope you manage to get your homebirth again! Had homebirth with 2 and 3 and hoping for again with 4th but I definitely don’t feel comfortable going past 41+6 which is only a few days away for me so not much choice as I want to avoid risk factors.

this is extremely interesting! Midwifery is such a fascinating area.

whole afternoon of strong cramps / even called homebirth team to check they have enough people on call. Went from
every 15 mins,
10 then 5 now back up
to 10 I’m close to having a proper Meltdown I can't go in like this it’s too much of a mindfuck, I feel a total failure as my body is so clearly trying to do something and not fucking getting to the stage it needs to. How? It’s the 4th time!!!!

Anxiousheartbeat · 22/06/2024 20:24

@Redheadx also just to wish you massive luck for tomorrow I hope everything happens in a very speedy manner ❤️
