Congratulations @babydust23

Just wondering (as completely naieve to all of this) do you just complete a midwife self-referral or do you also have to inform your GP?

I contacted my GP just so they have it on record. They asked me to self-refer to my local midwife unit. Very easy process!

@Sangels267 so sorry for your previous loss.

babydust23 · 30/04/2024 10:04

Thanks all!

@Newhere1993 I did call my doctors and they did not seem to care, didn't take any details off me and told me to self refer on my health board's website which I did and the midwife visited 3 days later x

@babydust23 ahh how exciting! Look at those lovely dark lines too. I haven’t been brave enough to check for the 3+ weeks yet lol. Think I’ll leave it another day or two.

Have woken up today with a sore throat and bunged up nose, good old crappy early pregnancy immune system 🤧

GreenSparkle1 · 30/04/2024 19:52

Good Evening,

I never thought I would be back on Mumsnet but here I am. 👋

I found out today I am pregnant. I am in huge state of shock. I have a 12 year old and me and my husband were not trying for a baby however I have not been feeling quite "right" and this was the result today.

I think I am around 5 weeks pregnant but I am unsure. We are both surprised but happy. We wanted a baby, but just never thought it was the "right" time.

Nice to meet everyone on this thread!

Hi everyone. Ttc after MMC in December 2023. I normally ovulate early in my cycle, about 3-4 days after my period ends, my next AF isn't due until 9th of May. Took tests today and can't help but think there's a vvv faint shadow. Could it poss be an indent?

Hi everyone! So cute seeing everyone's tests, I am wishing everyone a healthy pregnancy!

I tested at the weekend and am pregnant! We'd been TTC after a second trimester loss last year. We lost our baby girl at 15w+6. Feeling slightly anxious but trying to just take it each day at a time and stay positive. It's hard not to spiral into full blown excitement and also fear though!!!

My due date is 5 Jan! I have my first midwife appointment on 1 June and my first scan towards the end of June, but I might ring up to see if I can have any earlier checks just to help with keeping calm.

Excited to start the journey again and looking forward to hearing everyone's progress! Xxx

@Gooses123 Congratulations again! ❤️ I'm glad to see you on this thread! If you want to join our WhatsApp group too, the link is on the thread 🙂
I hope you get more checks due to your second trimester loss, I'm so sorry about it ❤️

CityGirlintheCountry · 01/05/2024 14:29

Hi guys, joining the group! 5 weeks preggo according to the calculators, due 1 Jan! Had a MMC in Jan this year at 8 weeks, so currently trying not to get overly excited yet. Will probably book in for an early scan if all goes well for the next few weeks.

Sangels267 · 01/05/2024 15:40

@CityGirlintheCountry congratulations and welcome 😍
So sorry about your loss! Fingers crossed everything will be ok this time ❤️

Ftm2025 · 01/05/2024 18:19

I hope you don’t mind me joining. I tested on Friday the 26th April and I was surprised with a BFP! I’ve been very emotional from shock, feeling utterly terrified if I am honest, but of course I have to say I am absolutely delighted 😁
eta due date based on last period is 2nd Jan. I have not seen a doctor or nurse just yet booking in next week!

Havasham · 01/05/2024 18:56

Hi! Congratulations everyone 😊 I'm due 4th Jan with baby number 2, my DD is 18 months old. Feeling really nauseous today, slightly concerned as it wasn't this early last time and I had sickness for my whole pregnancy 😵‍💫

Wishing us all happy and healthy pregnancies! X

CadoAvo · 01/05/2024 20:08

Hello, can I tentatively join please? I'm 10DPO. Had a negative digital yesterday and a positive digital today.

I believe I'd be due around 12th of Jan. I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks at start of April and haven't had a period since so purely judging it on when I ovulated 😅

This is second pregnancy, will be first baby 🤞🏼

Orlahoping · 02/05/2024 08:31

Nervously joining. I found out I was pregnant on Monday. I'd be due very early Jan. I had an MMC in January of this year (first pregnancy) so am super nervous. Fingers crossed for this one 🤞

Firsttimetrier · 02/05/2024 10:04

Can I also tentatively join? Currently 14DPO and got a decent line this morning. This will be my second pregnancy as I have a nearly 2 year old son.

Feeling wiped out already (that could be due to the toddler 😂) but I didn’t feel anything until 6 weeks last time!

babydust23 · 02/05/2024 10:41

Congrats @Firsttimetrier ! My first is currently 21 months so we're going through the same thing!

How is everyone feeling? My anxiety seems to be getting the better of me the past few days. Constantly thinking that something is going to go wrong 😢 forgot about these first trimester worries

Firsttimetrier · 02/05/2024 11:12

@babydust23 ah same age as mine!

I’m in complete denial tbh! Had a negative test at 8 and 9DPO, so didn’t expect this as I really thought I was out for this cycle.

I’m exhausted, feel so lethargic and almost fluy, didn’t feel anything until later on with my first!

WonderingAboutBabies · 02/05/2024 11:18

Congratulations @CadoAvo and @Firsttimetrier

Also feeling anxious... this is my first pregnancy, so I'm not sure what to expect! Creeping up to 5 weeks pregnant now and nausea is starting to set in! I have found that taking my mind off it does help with the anxiety. I put on some music and go for a walk! The early days are quite hard as no one else really knows about apart from DH... and he barely believes I am pregnant - refuses to accept it until I've done a digital! 😆We're doing one tomorrow, hopefully we'll have a nice, celebratory moment!

I am feeling really anxious this time around. I feel like the tests are a mistake!
I keep getting pain like period pains and then slight hip pain.. is anyone else getting this please?
