@Ttcagainnow last night was somewhat of a restless night for me so I totally get that! I felt so nervous but it does feel like a little weight has been lifted now, I wish you the best of luck with your scan and hope you feel a little bit more at ease afterwards💖

Sopshef · 27/06/2024 16:41

@Ttcagainnow I have mine tomorrow and feel the same. Today I've been like this time tomorrow it'll be an hour, this time tomorrow it'll be half an hour etc.

Marney12 · 27/06/2024 18:05

Having had a scan last week as part of our NIPT (and results coming back as low risk) we had planned to share our good news with our families (parents and siblings) this weekend as it’s also my mums birthday lunch.

My NHS 12 week scan is next week and we are going to ask everyone to wait until we have the scan before they tell anyone else. We have been trying for a few years, with a miscarriage and a couple of unsuccessful IVF cycles, so we know everyone is going to be so excited about our news!

I am now considering going for a quick private scan tomorrow just to make sure everything is okay before we see everyone - am I massively overthinking it? This would also be 3 scans in 3 weeks, with exactly a week between each…

HopefulllHolly · 27/06/2024 18:07

@Marney12 I say just tell them, it’s only a few days until your 12 week one (though I totally get your anxiety!)
Save those pennies and buy something nice for yourself or save it for the baby 👶 ❤️ hope you have a lovely time celebrating with your family!

Edited

Personally I wouldn't if I had one last week and have one coming up next week but I know the stress.
We had a miscarriage so we had a scan this time around 8 weeks. We then told immediate family as I would want the support with a miscarriage this time.

LS888 · 27/06/2024 20:20

@Marney12 that’s a tricky one. We had an early scan due to a bleed and I was measuring 5/6 weeks. Was expecting to be 7 weeks based on dates so that’s thrown me a bit. We were going to tell our family next weekend as we have a family occasion too and everyone is staying with us. But now my nhs scan has been pushed back to 14 weeks. So I’ve booked another private one for the Friday - they will arrive Friday evening. We have also had a previous MC and I have been having regular spotting. So think it’s just reassurance for me really. Hubby seems fine with just telling them!

MyPinkViper · 27/06/2024 20:21

A few of you have said you have had NIPT before your 12 week scan. Is that routinely offered? I thought you got your combined test at 12 weeks, then you may be offered NIPT if your results come back high risk. Just wondering what to expect really.

HopefulllHolly · 27/06/2024 20:24

@MyPinkViper They don’t do NIPT on NHS. I’ve had mine done privately today at 10 weeks as they are more accurate (and therefore less stressful to me!) than the NHS trisomy tests. I’d rather know something was wrong sooner so just a personal choice x

MyPinkViper · 27/06/2024 20:27

Ah I see. Thank you @HopefulllHolly !

HopefulllHolly · 27/06/2024 20:37

@MyPinkViper Im not actually sure if some NHS may do it after the NHS trisomy test though tbh! Maybe some do and others don’t. Definitely worth asking your midwife for sure. Mine don’t they just do the trisomy and other tests and then go straight to amniocentesis. So rather than do all that if something was to be wrong I’ve just decided to do them privately because the stress would kill me off 🤣

Firsttimetrier · 28/06/2024 15:45

Haven’t been on here for a week or so, so catching up.

I’m currently 12+3 with my second and this pregnancy has been SO different from my first. I genuinely forget I’m pregnant, whereas my first I was so ill for 14 weeks, so the weeks have been flying by this time.

We have our NHS dating scan on Tuesday when I’ll be 13 weeks and had a private scan at 9+5 and baby was bobbing around, so hoping everything is okay in there still!

m8ybeb8by · 28/06/2024 17:28

Update from me

Has private scan today - measuring 10 weeks. They saw a small bleed in the uterus which I have told my midwife about but I somographer reassured us flagging it was common and nothing to worry about since I'm not actually bleeding.

Anyone have any experience ?

LS888 · 28/06/2024 18:55

@m8ybeb8by at my early scan they saw a bleed - I had been spotting which is why I went for the scan so that was probably why. She said to expect to have some more bleeding which I have had. It’s just so hard to know whether the bleeding I’m having is ok and just the bleed she saw or something else but I have another reassurance scan booked in for next Friday.

m8ybeb8by · 28/06/2024 20:54

@LS888 I haven't had any bleeds interestingly

The advice they gave me was if it's light and brown nothing to worry about but if it's dark red then it's fresh and I should call EPU! Hopefully that helps!! Good luck for next week!

Apparently it's very common to have bleeding during the pregnancy and some women don't ever pass the blood as it gets absorbed!

Hoping that it's nothing and trying to stay positive. Smile

SavedByGraceAlone · 30/06/2024 14:50

Hi all, congratulations to everyone!
I'm cautiously optimistic to join this group after 4MCs and one successful pregnancy (my son is 15 months).
Currently 10 weeks pregnant, due 26 Jan 2025!
Is there a WhatsApp group going too?
Thank you!
Xxx

warmbutteredtoast · 30/06/2024 18:43

@SavedByGraceAlone Welcome, we're due date buddies! Sorry to hear about your miscarriages, I've also lost 3. 10 weeks feels like a good place to get to I think! Have you had any scans yet?

warmbutteredtoast · 30/06/2024 18:45

@m8ybeb8by I have a bleed, it was quite big compared to baby at 7 weeks, my scan at 9.5 weeks showed it's reducing on its own, no one has been very concerned about it so I think it's nothing to worry about especially if it's small and you're not actually bleeding x

m8ybeb8by · 30/06/2024 21:36

@warmbutteredtoast thank you!!! That's super reassuring!

Have you stopped exercising/walking or has it gone by itself?

warmbutteredtoast · 01/07/2024 12:11

@m8ybeb8by I'm not doing any heavy lifting but just walking and life as normal

Vik27 · 04/07/2024 13:02

The anxiety of waiting for the dating scan is real. It’s harder because I don’t really have any symptoms either.

HopefulllHolly · 04/07/2024 14:04

@Vik27 I feel you there! Just had my NIPT and gender back though so that’s kept me a little sane until my scan next Weds. When’s yours?

reimah · 04/07/2024 17:32

I don’t have any symptoms (apart from ligament pains?)
Dating scan went well, waiting on NIPT report.
Now need to stress about the anomaly scan!

TerryRose · 04/07/2024 22:48

14 weeks this week and nausea issues still going strong 🙃🤮

Vik27 · 05/07/2024 07:01

@HopefulllHolly mines next Thursday. That’s exciting you know the gender now too and assuming everything else was all good too?

HopefulllHolly · 05/07/2024 07:14

@Vik27 Awww almost scan buddies! I don’t count the weekend towards the days I’m waiting so 3 more days to go haha - and for you 4! 😊 Yeah NIPT all came back low risk thank god, it’s a massive relief. And we’re having a little girl (shocked as I was totally convinced it was a boy!) 🥹🥹 so exciting. Just hope she’s ok in there when we go on Wednesday! Did you get NIPT or just waiting for NHS tests?
