Ah, found the new thread! Hi everyone.

Feeling really low and having a bit of a wobble. Strangest thing, been ttc for a few months and was immediately delighted with my BFP. Its been 2 weeks since and I am just feeling really overwhelmed and worried that I've made a bad decision. I wish I didn't feel like this and I feel ashamed to :(

I have a supportive DH, my own home, a good job. I have no idea why I'm having this wobble when I know that I'm in a good position for a baby. At the same time, I'd be heartbroken to miscarry I think. Maybe the reality is creeping in.

Ugh, not sure what's going on :(

Oh bless you. I think this is normal. Our bodies are full of hormones and it is a huge life change! But you will be fine, you’ll see. Remember why you wanted this. You will still have your job, your house, your DH. Things might look different for a while but you can still do what you enjoy. Try not to worry. Could you speak with your midwife? Xx

RedCords · 24/03/2024 10:38

@Sparksi thank you for your kind reply ❤️ yes, I'm going to mention it to the midwife. I know, for months I worked out potential due dates and tracked ovulation, I really wanted this! I think it's anxiety 😕 hoping it passes soon. I had to do a FIT test for blood in stool, which thankfully came back negative but they want me to do an urgent sigmoidoscopy now (this is all adding to my anxiety and worry). I feel very emotional and hormonal. I have 4 excited grandparents to tell (if everything works out 🤞), and loving siblings with kids, so I've got a good support network! I need to just try and relax and enjoy it.

I definitely felt like this with my first pregnancy. I was similar to you - happy relationship, good job, house etc. But it was like the enormity of it hit me and I didn’t feel like I could talk to anyone about it. I wish I had because I’ve since found out that a good friend of mine felt the same when she was in the early stages of pregnancy.
I think it’s totally normal. It’s a massive life event and when you’ve not done it before, you don’t know what to expect but you know your life is going to change hugely. Don’t beat yourself up.

RedCords · 24/03/2024 10:49

Thanks so much @waryandbored ❤️

Yes, I think because its the first one, I just have no idea about the enormity of the love I'm going to have for them yet. So, I keep having these moments of 'oh life is so nice and easy and I'd be giving up XYZ', because I can't quite properly understand everything I'm going to gain (not lose).

I'm struggling to come to terms with it and feel excited as well because of the sigmoidoscopy. I'm scared to get the enema (the chemicals?) And some people say there's a risk of miscarriage. I think I'll feel better once it's over.

Loz365 · 24/03/2024 10:54

Morning everyone!

@RedCords it's such a stressful time, and I think we such different experiences and issues it can cause so much anxiety. As Sparksi said you'll still have all those things and remembering why you wanted this can be really helpful. And talking to others about how you feel too.

My bleeding is still going on, only seems to be when I wipe but there's quite a bit there. Tiny amount of a pad but nothing significant and I've still got some cramps. It hasn't got any worse so praying it will work out okay but also trying to be realistic that this might be bad news ☹️

RedCords · 24/03/2024 10:57

Thank you @Loz365 ❤️ yes, I spoke to my sister who had a baby last summer and she told me she felt the exact same. Made me feel better and more normal!

Sorry to hear about your bleeding! Do you have an appt or anything for it? Fingers crossed for you 🤞

Loz365 · 24/03/2024 11:19

@RedCords no not yet, my local EPU isn't open on the weekend and typically my bleeding started yesterday morning. I'm going to call them tomorrow and hopefully they can see me in the next couple of days 🤞 just want to know what's going on now

strawberrycake12 · 24/03/2024 12:14

Is anyone else tracking their weight? I thought it might be useful to see how I'm progressing and maybe to show midwife. So I have this little chart app. Not sure if I'm eating a bit too much already but I'm constantly starving 😅😂 how much should you put on a week? I'm guessing it's more important in the second trimester?

CurlyWurly1991 · 24/03/2024 12:16

@strawberrycake12 can you let me know the name of the app?
In my first pregnancy I was starving non stop. I think it’s really normal. I put on a lot of weight but it did drop right off with breastfeeding. I think unless you are overweight already it’s not something you need to be concerned about, midwives will track your weight. Most are pretty sensitive about it (although not the one I had around 36 weeks who told me I was now in the ‘obese’ category grrrr)

It's the Premom app and switch to pregnancy mode. I've found it really interesting. I'm just doing every 2 weeks and then if the midwife does question if I'm putting on enough I can show her in real time 😂 that's good to know it's normal! I'm happy to put on a bit, will be so worth it for baby. That's awful! I'm dreading the comments, hope i get a nice midwife 😂😂

Same. 💜My situation is very different to yours, but I've also had a few wobbles. Last night in bed I was having a little panic to myself. I feel like I've gotta grow up so fast now (I'm 19), and I was crying thinking "I want to go back to being a kid!!!" (silly I know) and "everything is going to change...I don't want my body to change!!!" It's just such a huge life change. But I'd also be heartbroken if I miscarried.

@Loz365 wishing you the best 💜

Symptom check...my boobs aren't constantly painful since yesterday, but they still are off and on. They definitely look a little bit bigger to me. Some general pulling/twinges off and on. Dry mouth and super thirsty most of the day, that is worse when I first wake up. Increased hunger. Increased discharge.

That's where I'm at right now!

1yearplan · 24/03/2024 13:18

Welcome @RedCords congratulations! you'll find the group lovely and supportive I hope. I think we will all have a little wobble at somepoint. You're not alone.

Rolly321 · 24/03/2024 17:07

Hello! Just joining after my BFP yesterday. 4+1 today so early days. Can't quite believe it yet!

Workissue25 · 24/03/2024 17:23

Joining in too!
I got my BFP on Thursday. The line came up in about 20 seconds and very strong.
Took a digitial which said I was 2-3 weeks.

4+4 today and boobs feel like theyve grown a cup size (very sore too) Mild nausea has hit morning until early afternoon and I am exhausted today!

Im wondering why I am having stronger symptons so early. This is baby #4 and previous pregnancies everything started much later.

whoops2024 · 24/03/2024 17:23

@SouthwestSis thanks for the welcome! And gosh isn't being pregnant with a toddler another ball game! Luckily, yes, my partner is super helpful and is looking after me. He makes sure I'm surrounded by snacks, makes sure I drink and looks after little one for most the day. He's told me to go bed early tonight, so I may just do that!

How about you?

Hi everyone. Sending so much love to you all! Read a few posts that some of you have experienced bleeding! Prayers sent your way hoping it's nothing to worry about 🙏

Hi ladies! Just had some light pink discharge - do I need to be worried? No pain or anything else 🫢

shohopeful · 24/03/2024 17:35

Hi everyone. Sorry I've had a mad few days so not had a chance to catch up. Hope everyone is doing ok! Hoping my boobs stop hurting soon?? Driving me mad. Was very close to spewing this morning but haven't yet. I'm 7+2 and got an 8 week scan this Friday (it's come round quite quickly!) xxx

Bratzy · 24/03/2024 17:38

Welcome, @Rolly321 and @Workissue25!

piechipsgravy · 24/03/2024 17:41

Is that your first scan @shohopeful ? So exciting! My nausea has definitely ramped up over this weekend - turning 7 weeks seems to have done something to my hormones!

Don't actually take my word for it, but from what I've read it's red with pain that's most concerning? Hope everything is fine for you 💜

Sharing this link for anyone worrying about miscarriage - this has helped me with perspective. It's a chart, and if you click "reassure me" it gives you more detail about your current stats. It's really lovely.

shohopeful · 24/03/2024 18:20

@piechipsgravy yeah first one! Hoping we see the baby really start to take shape. Though this was when I MC last time so feeling quite anxious and hoping that the same won't happen again. Have you been sick or just feeling really nauseous? I normally have such a sweet tooth but genuinely not that interested in chocolate or anything like that just now! Xx

Sparksi · 24/03/2024 19:03

Anyone else’s symptoms coming and going? I was so tired earlier in the week but I’ve had lots of energy yesterday and today. Boobs are now much more sore but they were ok last week, when I was tired! Do you think it’s normal for them to fluctuate?

piechipsgravy · 24/03/2024 19:07

@shohopeful I completely understand the anxiety- I'm sure it will be lovely though and youll get to see a gorgeous baby with heartbeat! I have a private scan on Saturday and even though my last one was good news I'm still anxious!

I haven't been sick yet- just lots of nausea and some sick-y burps when the nausea is particularly bad. Have crouched in front of the toilet a few times but nothing. When I'm not pregnant I usually really struggle to vomit anyway so was expecting this sort of thing. What about you?
