7+4 today!
It’s just nerve wracking isn’t it? The nausea has been dreadful but also reassuring in a weird way.

I’m 7+5 (I think) and it’s been really up and down this week. It really is nerve wracking! But it will be ok, the fact we are even at this stage is great. X

Jenroxy5 · 07/04/2024 09:42

Morning all
I think I’m actually miscarrying :( I’ve been having some spotting brown discharge/ light pink but last night it was everytime I wipe and this morning it’s more pink and watery which is usually an early symptom of miscarriage I suppose. It’s not fresh red blood yet but I don’t feel much symptoms this morning and I have been feeling nausea but today I just feel meh and nothing. My tests are still really dark but I’m assuming HCG takes a while to go down I had a scan yesterday which shown no yolk sac only gestational sac at 5 weeks 4 days so I was told to be guarded :( I’ve had lots of losses before so used to it but still stings x

Sparksi · 07/04/2024 09:42

Sorry for tmi tissue pic. I’ve wiped this morning and got quite a bit of yellow discharge, there’s more than you can see on the pic.

What could it be?? Do you think I need to get checked? Never had anything this colour before! My pregnacare does make my pee bright yellow but it’s definitely not pee as didn’t go before I wiped.

@piechipsgravy did you have this a few weeks ago I seem to remember? Sorry if it wasn’t you!!

piechipsgravy · 07/04/2024 09:45

@Sparksi yeah I've had yellow thick discharge on and off quite often! Also had white clumpy but came back clear for thrush 🤷🏼‍♀️

So sorry to hear you’re going through this. I had bleeding/spotting a week after my positive test. It lasted for 2 weeks, with some days worse than others. I had a scan which only showed the gestational sac, then another a few days later which showed a yolk sac. 10 days after that they saw the embryo with a heartbeat. Don’t lose hope xx

I’m also going through this right now so know exactly how you feel. My discharge had blood in yesterday which progressed to full bleed. I can’t get a scan until Tuesday and it was 6 hour wait at a&e for dr to look at cervix so I went home. I’m 8 weeks.
not all bleeds end in MC of course, can you be seen anywhere? I hope it’s not the end of either of us. Sending a big hand hold x

Ah I’m really sorry to hear this. It’s just awful that women can’t be seen when this is going on. I’m so sorry you’ve got to wait until Tuesday.

y0rkier0se · 07/04/2024 10:25

I really feel for you all going through the peak of the sickness! I know everyone is different but for me, week 6-8 were the worst & I’m so much better now at week 10, even though they say the peak is week 8/9. We had a bbq yesterday, I was sick in the morning and then gipped when preparing salad but other than that I had a burger, a sausage & a whole bottle of Nosecco 😂 which felt like a massive win as 3 weeks ago I couldn’t keep down toast. There is light at the end of the tunnel xx

Jellybelly888 · 07/04/2024 10:56

@Jenroxy5 so sorry to hear this. As difficult as it is, I would watch and wait until the EPU is open and you can get a definitive answer. Sending love and hope your way x

Jenroxy5 · 07/04/2024 11:56

Thank you @H20202 its so awful I’ve got some cramps now but I have eaten and been constipated lovely pregnancy symptoms I’m just feeling so down and upset. I’ve just spoke to EPU but they’ve said that their protocol is soaking a pad until it’s full for a period of 20 minutes otherwise they wouldn’t scan in less than a week time frame as they will still see my for scan that I’d booked for Wednesday morning. I’ve got the kids today myself so hiding in the kitchen crying into a cuppa whilst I let them have time in the garden with their iPads and lots of sweets.

it’s such a crappy time being in limbo and unknown. I feel so sad as you almost lose that part of your future when you bleed.

CurlyWurly1991 · 07/04/2024 12:05

@Jenroxy5 I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It is so hard having to wait. Don’t worry about the kids being on iPads with sweets today they will be absolutely fine and love it… take care of yourself xxx life is so cruel sometimes

I've had this a few times too. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about as long as it's not accompanied by itching / burning / pain / weird smell xx

Shroedy · 07/04/2024 13:15

Thinking of you both @H20202 and @Jenroxy5 💐 - hope you get answers soon xx

Starrysky812 · 07/04/2024 13:21

Just getting caught up. Sending best wishes to you both @H20202 @Jenroxy5 ❤️ xx

How do people get through pregnancy more than once? Serious question. If it really just a case of gritting teeth through the first trimester for most people? I feel like I just don't have the stamina for this to do it again. It's the fucking nausea. Just when I think it's stopped it comes back and I don't want to eat or drink anything but I have to and it's just so fucking awful. Sorry. I know people have it worse. But this is shit.

SouthwestSis · 07/04/2024 16:53

Honestly @Meatballsandpasta I forgot.
I forgot how bad it was with my first.
Every day feels like a struggle at the moment and I asked my OH, "I wasn't this bad first time round was I?" And he said yes.
Maybe it was a bit easier as I was a bit younger (although I'm only 35 now so not ancient!), and I know it was easier without a toddler in tow.
But the truth is the time passing and the love for my little one made me forget!
There certainly isn't going to be a no 3, so I'm telling myself it's the last time and worth it in the end.

Totally agree. You forget, just like lots of people don’t really fully remember what labour was like. Oh and the sleepless nights.. otherwise I don’t think we’d do it again, especially having a child already to take care of!
But I can honestly say it’s completely worth it once you meet your little bundle of joy!

Literally about to post something similar to this. I think people must forget or have it quite easy the first time 😂 it’s valid though if you decide you only want to do it once, for whatever reason. We were already thinking about being one and done (mainly finances, but lots of reasons) but the nausea and utter lethargy is making me feel that more strongly right now! Xx

muddlingthrou · 07/04/2024 17:13

@Meatballsandpasta - this is exactly what has been running through my mind all day, except this is my second. I can't believe that not only have I voluntarily put myself through this again, but I went through fertility treatment to do it!

But my DD is so amazing I know it will be worth it. Also makes you marvel at just how amazing hormones are at making you forget bad experiences 🤣 hopefully by Christmas, we'll all be sat cuddling our adorable babies, with a nice glass of wine if that's your poison. And even water will taste good again!

Meatballsandpasta · 07/04/2024 17:16

I wonder whether because this is my first it's the fact I don't have a sense of the "finishing line" and I'm hoping maybe getting through it will give me context... but I'm seriously sceptical at this point. Just feeling so guilty for hating this process, knowing what others go through, balancing that with feeling so lucky to be pregnant in the first place. I'm all over the place today.

CurlyWurly1991 · 07/04/2024 17:23

@Meatballsandpasta yeah it was so awful the first time it took me over 9 years to consider TTC number 2… haha it is awful but it does pass… like all the tricky bits of pregnancy and parenthood, nothing lasts too long so just try and grit your teeth and get through it where you can… easier said than done though I know.

PermanentlyTired03 · 07/04/2024 17:28

@Meatballsandpasta my nausea was terrible
in my first trimester with my 1st. Weirdly I was never actually sick. But did lose 5kg from lack of appetite. It was a breeze after that (kept that quiet from other pregnant ladies I knew!) apart from leg cramps at night. Knowing my luck it’ll be hellish the 2nd time around- whenever that decides to occur!

waryandbored · 07/04/2024 17:43

Time for a new thread guys. Anyone want to do the honours or shall I?
