@piechipsgravy yeah I'm not a sicky person either. Never throw up when I'm hungover etc. My mum didn't get actual sickness with me so maybe I'll be the same. Do you know about your mums experience? Eeeek good luck for Saturday! They'll look so different to what they did the first time. I'm just hoping if I have lots of early nights Friday will be here before I know it, and same for Saturday for you xx

Anyone else’s symptoms coming and going? I was so tired earlier in the week but I’ve had lots of energy yesterday and today. Boobs are now much more sore but they were ok last week, when I was tired! Do you think it’s normal for them to fluctuate?

Yeah, mine flucuate.

I can't believe I’ve only had one wave of nausea. I absolutely hate throwing up, so I love that for me as long as everything's OK with baby. I'm another one who hardly ever throws up in general, but I do get motion nausea so... 🤔

Hi, lovlies. Hope you don't mind me joining. I'm due November 24th, 2024. Fifth and final baby. :)

I can already feel the HG creeping in!

Nice to see more newbies, welcome all 😊

I've had a lovely day, went out for afternoon tea then came home and had a nap 🤣

Although this morning my partner and I were listening to a podcast about miscarriage which was very detailed (and graphic) and it's been on my mind all day and made me think it's "probably" going to happen to me 😟 2 weeks on Wed until first scan and can't come soon enough!

Kinsters · 25/03/2024 00:54

A couple of my pregnancies I wasn't sick at all, never even felt like I was going to be. With DD I was sick a couple of times. This has been my worst one in terms of how many times I've actually been sick. I've convinced myself the baby is a girl because the two I weren't sick with were boys and that is the old wives tale that you're sicker with a girl. I didn't want to find out with my last pregnancy but on the ultrasound he was unmistakably a boy! I'll try and keep it a surprise this time I think but I don't expect to be successful!

Oh also has anyone tried the Chinese gender predictor?? I'm sure it's rubbish but it's been right for all three of mine!

https://www.baby-chick.com/chinese-gender-calendar/

Its been right for all of mine too!!

Mine says boy on some and girl on another haha. So will have to wait!!

Regarding sickness, it's awful isn't it. I get HG and it was definitely worse with my youngest baby and she's a girl! But it was also terrible with my little.boy! Always in hospital. Hooe you are okay, xx

I'm ok, even with this one I'm only sick a couple of times a week so really nothing to complain about. The nausea has eased a lot already at 8 weeks. I don't remember what my previous pregnancies were like but hopefully it's normal. I've had lots of miscarriages before so I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping! Another scan next week..

Mine says girl. My partner and friend already think it's a girl. I'm not sure though 🤣

I had a very strong feeling early on with both of my boys. I am so sure I knew! But then I looked it up and a study done on whether mothers know the babies sex showed that they guessed correctly...50% of the time 😂

That's so funny 😂 I sometimes pretend I'm having a girl and other times a boy to see what it feels like.
I'm 6 weeks now and my boobs have started to let me know I'm pregnant. I'm still not feeling sick though - that could be a 7 week thing 🤔

Sharing this link for anyone worrying about miscarriage - this has helped me with perspective. It's a chart, and if you click "reassure me" it gives you more detail about your current stats. It's really lovely.

datayze.com/miscarriage-chart

Thanks for that link: I had no idea the risk dropped so significantly even in the first few weeks!

How is everyone doing this morning? My head is finally getting better (will sit with an ice pack on it for a few minites just in case), so hopeful I'll be able to function normally again. I've been taking a pregnancy nap in the afternoons over the weekend, and honestly it's been making me even more tired!

omghavingababy · 25/03/2024 08:13

Welcome to all newbies !

Love the Chinese baby calendar thing mine says boy (and is correct for my daughter) also my pregnancy is completely different even 6 and a half weeks in by this time with my daughter I was already puking multiple times a day!

Is anyone tempted to do a "sneak peak" gender test which you can do from 6 weeks? I might do it for the fun of it but obviously understand it's not reliable but you do get your money back if they're wrong!

I seen a funny video on tiktok last night about all the midwives being so busy in November because of all the Valentine's babies! We were trying for months so deffo not Valentine's Day planned although think I ovulated around that time! Do you think it will be busy in all hospitals because of valentines ? Haha

You're welcome. I have found it enormously helpful so far to keep perspective! Even in 24 hours the risk can drop quite a bit.

Hello! I'm 7+1, due Nov 10th. Glad to join you all. I've got a private scan booked tomorrow and I'm so excited! Anyone else here in Newcastle? DM me and maybe we can do a meet up!

It was correct for all 3 of mine! It's predicting girl this time. I'll find out for sure when I do the NIPT test.

1yearplan · 25/03/2024 09:54

@omghavingababy I'd be tempted to do the sneak peek test, but I'm too much of a wimp to get the sample needed 😂
Lots of the mums in my last pregnancy group did it and all of them were correct.

I'll find out the sex of the baby when I have the NIPT test. I'm not patient enough to wait for the birth.

Jellybelly888 · 25/03/2024 10:04

Hello to the newbies and congratulations!

Who’s decided to have a NIPT? I had one with my DS 6 years ago but so far, we haven’t decided with this baby. I feel like I want one as it’s a huge reassurance.
