Hey guys, new thread for the April due dates.

Looks like the other thread maxed out before someone could make a new one, so I'll tag a few people and then if they could tag a few and they tag a few and so on, so we can try and get everyone in.

There's no way I can get everyone tagged myself, it's a nightmare on mobile.

OP posts:

@MumDaisy1980 I am sure the doctors have seen much worse! And thats what they are there for!

Mine hasnt even bothered me after #2s. It just feels like a paper cut.
But it is getting better, so I am hoping it will go away before the baby is here next week!

I am glad yours is better and hopefully it will continue to improve and you wont even need a doctor!!!

SummerOak · 16/03/2024 07:00

@ASGIRC so exciting that you'll be having your baby this week. What day have they booked you in for?

Pinkstuffs · 16/03/2024 07:45

Had my 34 week appointment yesterday but bump was still measuring at 31 weeks so midwife has referred me for a scan on Monday, has anyone experienced similar? I can still feel him kicking away a lot! He’s changed position too and is luckily head down after being transverse since 28 weeks. Not sure if this is would make my bump change size.

SummerOak · 16/03/2024 09:53

@Pinkstuffs I had a 36 weeks appointment the other day and the bump was measuring at 34 weeks. We've also been referred for a scan. She said he dropped more into my pelvis so that could be the reason it's measuring smaller. And she did say that any time they change positions it can change the measurements. I wouldn't worry about it if you feel the baby moving and growing.

I think Im booked in for Wednesday, but my OB had forgotten her diary at home at the last appointment, so couldnt give me exact dates and times....
I have another appointment on Monday, so should know for sure then, as time will then be of the essence!! (OB is going on holiday on the 23rd, so it will definitely happen either on Wednesday or Thursday!)

I am SOOOO ready! This phase is absolutely miserable... I cant sleep, between the hip pain, and reflux and the heartburn, I would rather not sleep because I am taking care of my baby!!!!!

BuzzybeeMum · 16/03/2024 13:27

@Pinkstuffs and @SummerOak

I was referred for a growth scan after my bump was measuring slightly under (around 32 weeks, I think?) but I went to the scan and everything was absolutely fine. On the contrary, she was a bigger baby! And growing well. So don’t worry about it - it’s likely to be fine. The bump measurement is known for being a bit hit and miss (we had different midwives measuring ours) so they just do it as a precaution in case baby isn’t growing as they should be.

MumDaisy1980 · 16/03/2024 18:42

@ASGIRC thank you!

also good luck on your delivery! Exciting!!

SummerOak · 18/03/2024 08:56

@ASGIRC hope you get booked for Wednesday then! It must be so exciting knowing when the baby will be here. And I get that you would rather have them here already since you're so uncomfortable, hopefully it all goes away once you give birth.

ASGIRC · 18/03/2024 14:39

@SummerOak It is booked! Wednesday ay 2.30pm! A bit disappointed its so late in the day (Have to fast from 6am!!!!!!!! If it was in the morning, id cope sooo much better, as I dont eat in the morning, but by 11am I am STARVING), but its great to have it all booked!

@chlo299 hows your baby girl?

Mrsttcno1 · 18/03/2024 15:43

Eeek good luck @ASGIRC is it a c section you’re having? If so (and of course only if you feel up to it while in your newborn bubble) please come back and let us know how it went! I’m currently deciding whether to try an ECV or whether to accept their offer of a planned c section but I am so so nervous at the thought of a c section. So hearing from someone who has been through it would be a huge help! X

Pinkstuffs · 18/03/2024 18:17

Had my growth scan today, baby is on the 50th centile but no other issues so have been referred back to midwife. The sonographer seemed to think the turning might have caused measurements to be off. He’s low in my pelvis now so hopefully he doesn’t turn back!

MumDaisy1980 · 18/03/2024 20:10

Hello all, we are all close to the finish line! As first time preg, just want to ask how do you prepare for water broke? As in do you wear pantyliner or maternity pad with you?

just that I am 37 week now and with the growth scan last week indicating everything in right direction. Baby head is down. Est weight 6lb. So got the feeling it happen any minute. But my mat leave not start until Easter break next Friday. And happened my cover joined the company today so ideally I am going to office everyday to make sure smooth handover. Back of my mind also donno how to handle the situation of the what-if!!

and maybe I am being overthink I got the feeling since the growth scan I experienced super mild period cramp. But it’s like one time after the growth scan and one time this morning . So it’s like few days apart and super mild. Or I was just thinking it’s a cramp. No clue!

I just don’t want water broke at work and causing embarrassment on my clothes etc!!

what’s your thought? Or am I asking questions not making sense?!

thanks!!

sugarplum33 · 18/03/2024 20:33

@MumDaisy1980 Waters rarely break in dramatic sudden tv style and generally go once you're already in labour. It would be worth making sure you have a waterproof mattress protector on but I wouldn't panic about wearing a pad (which is unlikely to help much anyway if your waters go fully).

sweetdreams23 · 18/03/2024 20:42

@MumDaisy1980 mine went when I was already 10 cm and in the birthing pool pushing. I did have some bed pad things which I think we put on the car seat on the drive to hospital on labour! There’s usually other signs first- losing mucus plug etc. Ofcourse there are times waters will go absoloutly randomly but I think that’s unusual. At that point- you probably wouldn’t care anyway!

MumDaisy1980 · 18/03/2024 21:45

@sugarplum33
@sweetdreams23
thanks!
good tips for the waterproofing
indeed we bought a new bed and new car - and never thought about waterproofing whatsoever !

yes agree very unlikely and hope it keep it that way!!

just whenever I read the news of miracle delivery (like few days ago somebody gave birth in the air on the plane) I really have no clue how that could happen. Given - yes in theory it explain contraction first … gradually build up with all signs before water broke. Perhaps that’s an unusual incident!

Ttcmumma · 19/03/2024 16:23

Oh wow didn't notice the new thread that was a lot of catching up to do!

Hope all is well with everyone.

Yesterday I had some cramping and lower back pain, seemed to somewhat ease when I went number 2. However today I seem to have quite a bit of period like pain, low down in my belly. Sometimes quite uncomfortable. Doesn't seem to be any tightenings, nor much frequency/set timings to it. I have used the toilet a few times to try to relieve it and doesn't seem to be an upset tummy or constipation as I can go somewhat normally.

Is this normal for this stage? (37+1) Or do you think my body could be gearing up for labour? With my son I had some mild on off contractions for maybe 30 minutes before my waters just completely burst so doesn't seem to be quite the same as that.

Amf2508 · 19/03/2024 19:42

@Ttcmumma I've been similar 37+4 and had period like cramps intermittently but not really contraction like! Such a fine line at this stage could be something, could be nothing 😩 Everytime I get a strong BH I'm like oooo please be the start 🤣 I had a few cramps every 10 minutes yesterday with light tightenings that eased off into nothing after a couple of hours! It's so frustrating!

Petris123 · 19/03/2024 22:46

Anyone else struggling with weight gain? I reckon I'm putting on too much (something like 1 kg a week), I'm reading everywhere that it should be a max of 500g a week but the midwife didn't seem to be bothered! I've already put on all the weight you're supposed to put on over the whole of pregnancy and I'm only 34 weeks. Doesn't feel like I'm overeating, but I'm definitely more hungry. Anyone else worried about it? Any advice? Thank you in advance.

Ttcmumma · 19/03/2024 23:12

@Amf2508 it's so confusing 🤣. I feel like I am getting tightenings now and the discomfort is somewhat more regular. I'm supposed to be on a school trip with my son tomorrow so just hoping she stays put until after that atleast haha. Can't see myself still being pregnant this time next week tbh

MumDaisy1980 · 20/03/2024 02:09

@Ttcmumma i remember we are on the same due date. Are you still on track to the same due date? I wonder if you have any indication of colostrum?! My body doesn’t have any obvious labour symptoms like period pain, but got tired and hungrier more often.

Good luck if it’s really happening soon!

Ttcmumma · 20/03/2024 06:33

@MumDaisy1980 hey! I'm still due April 8th but I'm anticipating her early as my son broke my waters at 37+5 which I know means nothing but I just feel my body gearing up. I contemplated colostrum harvesting so have had a small attempt, a little tiny bit came out of both nipples but I'm not sure enough to actually collect. With my son I didn't see anything but he latched fine and stayed there for 2 hours after he was born so don't panic!

Than you! There's every chance it will all stop and nothing will happen again for a week or two haha but the period like pain is actually waking me at night too so hoping it progresses within the next week atleast. I just about managed to birth my 7lb son naturally so I'm a little scared if she goes bigger than that. I have a naturally very small frame lol

ASGIRC · 20/03/2024 07:01

@Mrsttcno1 Of course! I will let you know how I feel after my c section! I am pretty optimistic about it! 2 fellow IVFers had theirs in the last couple of weeks and were up and moving around a few hours later, home the next day, and out and about a couple of days later.

@Ttcmumma my friend who was due on the 6th had her baby on Monday! Both her kids before were born early, so it was no surprise. Shed been losing her plug since Saturday morning.

My BH contractions have moved to the back and I also get loads of period cramps. Pretty damn uncomfortable, but it doesnt seem like it is a sign of labour at all...
In any case, my baby will be here later today!

SummerOak · 20/03/2024 07:35

Good luck today @ASGIRC!! Hope you're holding your baby soon enough.

Petris123 · 20/03/2024 10:25

Not strictly pregnancy related but what the hell have I just been eating, ever seen this in a banana? Anyone knows if it's dangerous? I'm already panicking 😥😥😥

Anyone due in April part 4
SummerOak · 20/03/2024 10:36

@Petris123 To me it looks like blood, probably from your gums when you bit into it. I've had that happen couple of times during pregnancy. Try cutting a banana next time and see if it's already there and then just biting into it and see if it appears after your bite.
