Hey guys, new thread for the April due dates.

Looks like the other thread maxed out before someone could make a new one, so I'll tag a few people and then if they could tag a few and they tag a few and so on, so we can try and get everyone in.

There's no way I can get everyone tagged myself, it's a nightmare on mobile.

@Janeykat yes we have black out blinds too and i think they help. Our little one is not sleeping much at all these days, she naps for a max of 50 mins, most of the time it's 20-30 and at night she wakes a lot, last night she woke 4 times. I am hoping she will turn a corner soon!

Janeykat · 21/08/2024 13:22

@Ek21 my daughter is the same, maximum 45 minute naps and she woke 5 times last night, this has been going on for about a week😴 hope they come of this phase soon🤞

MumDaisy1980 · 21/08/2024 16:15

How's everyone summer baby, apart from the sleepless nights 😅?

Just want to update that my baby 4.5 month old and finally rolled over. I did make a post a while ago saying slightly concern about it. Not sure if anyone went to sensory classes ? I took my baby for two classes and he naturally rolled over by himself since then. I guess the classes might helped.

Ha, interesting that now I see him rolled over and over again, I asked myself what next?! What's next for 5 month old baby? I have been focusing on anticipating introducing solid food and expecting teething soon, not been reading much about baby movements. I guess crawling is next, and somehow feel another long way to go!

In terms of sleep, my baby still have one odd day here and there that wake up almost 1-2 hours, and would follow by mega-poos next day.

Aprilpudding24 · 21/08/2024 19:34

My little one has been doing a few rolls. She really isnt keen on tummy time though so when she rolls ends up on her tum the bottom lip comes out 😂

She's actually gotten so much better with sleep. Just one or two wake ups now for a bottle between 7pm-7am. She does keep spinning herself around in the crib though. I woke up to her horizontal n both her feet sticking out the side yesterday!
Naps however are anyone's guess. She can go for 30 mins to 3+ hours. She likes to keep me on my toes.

I'm thinking about solids soon too now. What's everything thinking for their first foods to try?

MumDaisy1980 · 21/08/2024 21:55

@Aprilpudding24 lucky you on the night time sleep! Any tips to share, though I know every baby is different!

yay, about solid I was reading about it today. It’s recommended to try baby cereal, and I have no idea what’s baby cereal and guess it’s something get from the supermarket and follow the instructions. But when i spoke among friends and family, they mention about fish soup and it’s something I yet to do more research on. The idea being fish is good for brain development but I am a bit daunted by the thought of potential bone haaa.

curious to know others thought on solid indeed!

Ek21 · 21/08/2024 22:52

@Aprilpudding24 I have been researching weaning and follow healthnut nutrition on youtube, she does great videos with recipes and freezes in batches which seems really handy. She also has a cook book. The health visitor recommended starting with veg, then fruit and then meat so that's my plan.

Pinkstuffs · 21/08/2024 22:57

My DS is also rolling (just turned 4 months) although can only go back to front. Sleep is a bit hit and miss but he’s getting much better with napping, I try to put him down in his next to me with the room dark which helps.

He was born tiny and is still tiny, we are seeing a paediatrician Friday. He’s only just getting out of newborn clothes!

Mrsttcno1 · 22/08/2024 06:05

My baby is also rolling, and has now started being able to sit up by herself without us holding onto her and reaching for things!

We’re going to start weaning in a month or so, she’s massively interested in food and is showing a few of the signs but going to wait just a bit longer as she’s still only 4.5 months at the moment. We’ll be starting with veg, then fruit then meat as that’s what the guidance says etc, baby led weaning is the plan!

Aprilpudding24 · 22/08/2024 08:22

@MumDaisy1980 yeah I've got some baby cereal ready. Some rice n some porridge. I can't wait to see her little face trying the fruits n veggies.
I did some sleep training to help her along with learning to self soothe n ever since she's been great at falling to sleep on her own. But who knows how long it will last I imagine she'll change all the time over the next two years. Some good weeks, some bad. She also had colic n reflux n both of those things seemed to have calmed down now so it could just be that.

@Mrsttcno1 aw wow sitting up by herself that's amazing I can't wait to see my girl doing that!

Aprilpudding24 · 22/08/2024 08:23

@Ek21 oh cool I'll take a look. Freezing batches sounds like a really good idea. Especially when I get back to work.

Mrsttcno1 · 22/08/2024 08:48

Ee @Aprilpudding24 it is so exciting seeing her sit up but it’s definitely a new level of anxiety as well😂

Ek21 · 22/08/2024 10:54

@Aprilpudding24 yes and freezing individual portions makes it easier for others if you aren't there for example. She has a really good video about how she makes everything, portions it out and then how to warm up. All organic too so nothing in it only goodness! I bought her cookbook, it's an online one so always on your phone then for when you want to look something up. Super handy. I'm going to stock up on bibs, plates etc soon!

ASGIRC · 27/08/2024 17:04

Hey guys!!!

My 5 month old is rolling, though not very often, and she cant roll back from her tummy to her back, so thats major upset times LOL

She has found her feet, but not putting them in her mouth yet.
We have been practicing her sitting up, now, and she sometimes is able to sit for a few seconds, but usually just falls over instantly!

Ill be starting solids next month, BLW is the plan, no purees (or rather... they wont be the main focus of her diet!)

As for sleep, shes been sleeping through the night since she was about 6 weeks old, that pattern has not changed, the day times naps tend to be no longer than 30 minutes though. But they seem to be enough for her! However, when she doesnt get them, she gets CRAN.KY!

MumDaisy1980 · 04/09/2024 17:10

@ASGIRC your little one sounded so cute!

@Aprilpudding24 thanks!

Hope all is doing well!

ASGIRC · 06/09/2024 21:21

And a few days after this, she started putting her feet in ther mouth, which is the CUTEST thing and makes me laugh every time! LOL

Cuteness overload 😍

Ek21 · 03/10/2024 15:55

How is everyone doing? Has anyone moved their baba into their own room or started solids?

Pinkstuffs · 03/10/2024 17:28

We’ve started putting DS into his own room for naps, he sleeps much better in the bigger cot although he keeps getting his legs stuck in the cot bars!

We haven’t started weaning yet but he was a mid-April baby. I can’t wait until we do as he’s so tiny still. He was 5lb 13oz when born and still is only 13lb. He’s not getting on with any milk so can’t wait until we can try solids. The HV is still pushing us to wait until 26 weeks to start.

sugarplum33 · 03/10/2024 17:46

@Pinkstuffs My little boy has had a tricky feeding journey and is a bit underweight. We ended up with a paediatrician appointment and although he's otherwise perfectly well and healthy they were very happy for us to start some high calorie weaning at 5 months to get a bit of weight onto him.

Pinkstuffs · 03/10/2024 18:02

@sugarplum33 thats interesting, he has been diagnosed with CMPA so we’ve changed his milk but he’s still not eating a lot. We saw a private paediatrician to get that diagnoses but the waiting list for an NHS referral in this area is 2 years, even for an underweight baby!

jeepjeep4 · 03/10/2024 19:34

Another underweight baby boy here! Suspected allergies which we're going to have investigated as I'd love to wean him onto solids but anything we've tried so far has resulted in a rash and vomiting. He's sitting around 13lbs at the moment at nearly 6 months bless him.

Ttcmumma · 03/10/2024 20:04

My little lady will be 6 months in 7 days. She's currently 15lb 8 oz. Not massive like her cousin the same age 🤣 but not too small! She has been weaning since she turned 5 months and she literally snatches food off my plate and out my hand she is so eager so I thought better to do it properly! We do a mixture of purees and baby led weaning. She LOVES food lol and so far all is going well. She does get constipated often tho so we try to stick to fruits and veggies more than anything at the moment. She's still sleeping in my room and I plan to keep her there for atleast a year or until she sleeps through the night if she isn't at 1 year. She only wakes for minutes at a time for milk and doesn't even open her eyes but I can't be arsed for that in another room. I also have a ridiculous fear of sids which I know is reduced risk when they sleep in the same room as mum! She is now rolling front to back and back to front. Wiggling on the floor to move, sitting almost completely unaided, babbling, putting her arms out to go to familar faces and JUST this week learnt to move the walker but only to get to her brother! Lol

Ek21 · 03/10/2024 22:11

@Pinkstuffs My little one is a mid April baby too, she was born 7lb2 and is 13lb6 currently, all her check ups have been fine, no concerns about her growth. We will start solids in a couple of weeks. I try put her down in her own crib for her naps, some days it goes ok and other days not. Have you managed to get your baby to self soothe? I need to work on this!

Pinkstuffs · 03/10/2024 23:21

@Ek21 i have to say we are totally spoilt with our DS as he is a fantastic sleeper and always has been. He has been self settling since he was about 12 weeks old and we were lucky enough to avoid a regression at 4 months. I’m sure karma Is going to hit later in life 🙈 I keep wake windows around 2 hours and he naps for 1 - 3 hours. Usually we will get a morning nap, long afternoon nap and a little cat nap around 5pm. I put him down for bed between 6.30pm and 7pm.

Ek21 · 04/10/2024 09:51

@Pinkstuffs oh my god you are living the dream! My little one sleeps but only in our bed really. Her naps are 40-50 mins usually and she goes to bed between 8-9 but 100% wakes up a few times. I follow wale windows on huckleberry but sometimes she just will not sleep for maybe an hour later than the app says!
