Hey guys, new thread for the April due dates.

Looks like the other thread maxed out before someone could make a new one, so I'll tag a few people and then if they could tag a few and they tag a few and so on, so we can try and get everyone in.

There's no way I can get everyone tagged myself, it's a nightmare on mobile.

We are in the same boat here. 12 weeks old and has gone from sleeping for 5-7 hours a night to 2-3 hours if we are lucky. Health nurse said it could be a growth spurt or the regression so we just have to roll with it!

sugarplum33 · 12/07/2024 19:58

My little one is 12 weeks and so far his night sleep is unaffected but day sleep is hard! He does sometimes nod off in his car seat and I go against all guidance and leave him in there (supervised) so he gets a bit of a rest but otherwise he can go hours and hours without so much as a catnap and getting progressively more exhausted and unhappy poor thing.

@Janeykat The pulling and fussing! Mine has beeb awful to feed today, just scratching and unlatching and throwing himself around, I don't think the tiredness helps :(

Amf2508 · 12/07/2024 20:02

I feel for you all, I have been soo fortunate and my 14 week old little one is normally sleeping so well at night 8-4 and during the day he just tires himself out under his play gym, he does appear to be showing signs of teething but he has also started holding toys and putting them in his mouth so is able to help himself a little bit! Hang in there ladies it definitely does get easier!

MumDaisy1980 · 22/07/2024 10:20

Sorry to hear the odd sleep pattern. indeed hang in there! my 16 week boy pattern is similar to @Amf2508 and also showing signs of teething. I wonder when need to start buying some sort of teething toy? He just started using pacifier a couple of weeks ago, and I read also pacifier not good for teething. ha. Would I need to replace pacifier with some teething toy?! Hope all is well!

Cora24601 · 22/07/2024 13:43

@MumDaisy1980 my boy isn't teething yet but is at that stage where his hands are always in his mouth so I bought him a teething toy which he absolutely loves from the Aldi baby event if you are in the UK, they are called matchstick monkeys I think. you might be able to get something similar elsewhere. And I've got him some teething mitts which he really likes as well.

MumDaisy1980 · 22/07/2024 15:23

@Cora24601 Thank you for the tips! I thought putting the hands in th mouth means teething! I did more googling a realised not quite the case. I presumed teething will really make the baby upset? I wonder how long will it last? we will be in overseas for a month when the baby is 5-6months old, I would anticipate teething kind of changes taking place and want to prepare everything I can in the UK.

Amf2508 · 22/07/2024 15:26

Yes we have similar to the matchstick monkey, most toys he has are teething toys, that and a few rattles as he has a good grab now!

Ek21 · 22/07/2024 21:56

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. My little one is 14 weeks tomorrow. Like the others have said she is defo teething chews everything! I am looking for some advice about her sleep (I posted previously). She used to sleep for 5/6 hours at night, but in the last 2 weeks will only last 1/2 hours max in her crib. I resorted to taking her into the bed with us and she will sleep 4/5 hours then. My question is: will letting her sleep in the bed affect her going back into her crib?? I really want to get her back into sleeping in her crib like she used to so any advice would be great thanks!

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 23/07/2024 16:34

Hi everyone,

Hope you and your little ones are all doing well.

Some of you may remember me, some may not, but I very sadly had a stillbirth at 39 weeks. She was called Eleanor.

So I'm 13 weeks PP and thought I would just update anyone who remembered me. I'm pregnant again! Just found out today.

We're hoping for a sticky bean. While bittersweet, we are delighted with the news.

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess aw so pleased for you. Congratulations ❤️ xx

Amf2508 · 24/07/2024 18:22

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess that's amazing news, congratulations ☺️💕

We're now nearly at 16 weeks and I was just wondering where your babies are at developmentally those that are at a similar stage!

We've just learned to roll today so he can now go both ways front to back/back to front most of the time without help! And can grab toys for long periods of time and likes to put them in his mouth 🤣 he's also very loud when he chats 🤣 we can't watch TV if he's playing under his playgym 🤣

Iamcatmum · 24/07/2024 21:14

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess such wonderful news. congratulations 💛 xx

Janeykat · 24/07/2024 21:18

@Amf2508 wow sounds like your boy is doing great, very impressive that he is rolling both ways, my girl isnt interested in going either way🤣 the chats are so lovely though, and the smiles😍

My girls sleep has gotten really bad the last few days, she cant nap much all and is sleeping less at night. she has cows milk protein allergy but I think I she is probably reacting to something else I am eating as she has loads of silent reflux symptoms 😔 So I am really trying to enjoy this stage but also very sleep deprived

Iamcatmum · 25/07/2024 00:50

@Janeykat I ended up going a bit mad and cutting loads out my diet (around 9 big food groups) to try and stop the symptoms. Have never really gotten to a baseline where he’s symptomless but I definitely think it’s a part of why sleep has been so bad for us too. I am trying to add stuff back into my diet now as it’s bloomin’ miserable to not be sleeping and then also have hardly anything nice to eat during the day, I’m sure you have found the same. Also the micro exposure to the allergens is good to preventing allergies developing. You probably already know but there is a FB group called ‘Breastfeeding with CMPA and other food allergies…’, where mums ask questions and share tips.

Janeykat · 25/07/2024 01:59

@Iamcatmum oh wow 9 food groups, that must be really hard, there must not be much left you can actually eat! How is your son doing now? Does he have difficulty sleeping during the day also?
I hear you about it being tough not eating nice things or sleeping much :( I have very high hopes for things improving in a few months when we can start weaning (especially re the reflux!) but I am not sure if Im being realistic.

Thanks for the tip re the Facebook page, I hadnt actually seen that one.

Aprilpudding24 · 25/07/2024 09:28

@Amf2508 my girls starting to roll now too. She only goes from side to side from her back n still isn't keen on tummy time but I think that's her reflux, she's never been keen on lying too long on her belly.
Her sleep still isn't great n half the time she fights it so much she's sobbing herself to sleep it's horrible to watch. Even soothing her back to sleep in the middle of the night is harder too now. She just wants to be awake all the time 😣. I'm hopeful it will improve eventually and we can finally sleep through the night again 🎉
Her chattering is SO loud also, it's really cute. I put some teething mittens on her the other day n she was just looking at them for ages shouting at them 😂

Ttcmumma · 27/07/2024 20:34

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess congratulations I'm so happy for you. I pray for a healthy baby for you! ❤️

Has anyone else's baby started rolling already? My son didnt roll over until 8 months. Today at 15 weeks my daughter has started rolling back to belly. She has been trying for a few days when on her playmat. She usually just ends up rotating around the playmat until she's done a 360 back to where she begun lol but today she got over onto her belly! It seems too young?

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 27/07/2024 20:49

Unfortunately it was a chemical. But we'll be trying again in a couple of months and have our fingers crossed

So sorry to hear it @XenaTheWarriorPrincess and wishing you lots of luck for the coming months.

@Ttcmumma My little boy starting rolling belly to back this week at 14 weeks, I think it's relatively early but not abnormally so. Now I can't get him to do any tummy time as he just immediately flips himself haha

Ttcmumma · 27/07/2024 22:21

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess oh I'm so sorry 😔.

@sugarplum33 how cheeky I love it! They say back to belly is harder than belly to back so I find it strange she is doing back to belly first. I guess she spends more time on her back so more practice.

94kj · 27/07/2024 22:51

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess so so sorry. Wishing you luck xx
