Hey guys, new thread for the April due dates.

Looks like the other thread maxed out before someone could make a new one, so I'll tag a few people and then if they could tag a few and they tag a few and so on, so we can try and get everyone in.

There's no way I can get everyone tagged myself, it's a nightmare on mobile.

@Ttcmumma Yeah back to belly would definitely involve more effort, my little boy just tips himself on his tummy a bit and the weight of his big head does most of the work in rolling him over 🤣 my daughter went back to belly first though like your daughter, mind you she was quite horrified at ending up on her tummy and refrained from doing it again for a while :)

MumDaisy1980 · 30/07/2024 11:10

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess Thank you so much for keeping us update. You are such a strong mama! Keep trying and thought of you! Stay positive!

My son is 4 months old and I have similar question about rolling indeed! my son did rotate 360 and roll side to side, but no sign of rolling to tummy. My friend's 4 month old roll up by himself , and I can't help to compare. Ha. So I became impatient again! Do you do any practice with the baby for rolling? or some of my family members said they will just roll by themselves one day!

Hope all is well! It's hot day!

Ttcmumma · 30/07/2024 12:24

@MumDaisy1980 they will get there, they are still young. My daughter has stopped doing it now. My so was 8 months before he rolled but in the same week he rolled, crawled, said his first word and got his first tooth. Then was running 2 months later! He's always been quite advanced since too. Don't stress x

MumDaisy1980 · 30/07/2024 16:46

@Ttcmumma thank you! Wow so many actions unlocked in one go, must full of joy to see! Good to be reminded to take the ‘chill’ pill time to time. Thanks! 😊

Sleep advice please! Little one is 16 weeks now and about 3 weeks ago decided to stop sleeping for more than 2-3 hours in a block. I made the mistake of taking her into our bed so we could all get some sleep and she will not sleep in her crib now. As soon as her back/side/bum hits the mattress she instantly wakes. Any advice girls??

Aprilpudding24 · 01/08/2024 12:35

@Ek21 I don't have any advice sorry just know that sleep has been the major issue we've had with our baby. I let her co sleep with me too because I'm just so tired with all the wake ups. But I'm worried I'm making it worse for the future n her learning independent sleep. I have been reading about controlled crying/ sleep training have you looked into it? It seems it's quite controversial but other people seem to have good results. As my little one is getting heavier n heavier though rocking her for an hour before every nap/sleep is becoming such painful hard work, my back is dying but I'm defo getting fitter from the squat bobs so every cloud I guess haha.

Ek21 · 01/08/2024 14:34

@Aprilpudding24 same here I am worried she will be in our bed forever! I did look into it, but as she was teething didn't want her upset. I bought lucy wolf's book but haven't had a chance to read it yet.

MumDaisy1980 · 01/08/2024 23:50

@ek21 sorry to hear that. Not think it’s your fault, sure you made decision feel right at the time. I don’t co sleep with baby, but whenever baby cried or screamed as soon as he lowered into the crib. I would start this routine again and again. Feed (with lullaby music), change nappy, tummy time, check room temp or his clothing. Maybe then pass to my husband try again. Then back to me again with all the above. Usually it is feedi g that put my baby to sleep. Even say I just fed him or he appeared full already!

also I learnt this trick from Instagram …when lower the baby to crib, your chest lower with baby so she feel your comfort. When you moved away and she start crying, just move back closer until she passed out.

Hope it helps!

Hello ladies, I wonder if anyone period has returned while breastfeeding?

I think I am seeing sign of period, but I don’t think I have been reducing breastfeeding. The only thing I imagine is I introduced dummy couple of weeks ago. Baby not really sleeping through the night. Mmm, I just wonder if my period return would it mean my breast milk is reducing???

I am pretty confused right now and not quite find a relevant answer from the internet.

wonder if anyone has similar experience ? Thank you!

Ttcmumma · 03/08/2024 08:37

@MumDaisy1980 its not a given that you won't get a period until your baby reduces feeding. Some woman breast feed day and night and get their periods as usual after birth. I have had one period after getting the contraceptive injection and nothing since. Though that could have been the contraception causing both the one period and no period since. I do exclusively breast feed (via pumping) but who knows! Your period can return whenever regardless of milk supply x

Mrsttcno1 · 03/08/2024 09:11

Hi @MumDaisy1980 my periods have been back from 4 weeks postpartum!😂

On a side note, after a broken condom incident typically right in the middle of what my app says was my fertile week, I now need to take a pregnancy test next week🥲

MumDaisy1980 · 03/08/2024 21:40

@Ttcmumma thanks! I just hope it doesn’t mean my milk is finishing! I am planning to feed for another two months~~

@Mrsttcno1 thank you! 4 weeks is very soon!! Was it your first pregnancy? hope the test goes as you expect. 🙂

I know this is a recurring topic , just to share the pain in the past few days , probably due to the heat, have been feeding at 8pm (regular tuck in time) then 11pm-3-4-5-6-7am then 8 or 9am to start the day. But before was pretty regular for one or two feeds at night. Not sure anyone had similar experience past few nights haa 😵

Pinkstuffs · 04/08/2024 10:25

How is everyone getting on with naps? My DS who is 15 weeks now sleeps from 7pm to 6am with a dream feed at 10pm. He sleeps much better when he naps properly during the day but I’m struggling to get him to stay asleep for more than 20 mins at a time. A lot of sleep schedules online suggest baby should nap for 1-2 hours?

Edited to say he sleeps like this I think because he is formula fed!

Janeykat · 04/08/2024 10:44

@MumDaisy1980 it sounds like the 4 month sleep regression where their sleep pattern changes... i remember it last time around with my son, suddenly lots of frequent wake ups as you describe. My daughter (15 weeks) has suddenly started having really short naps but doesnt seem to have impacted night sleep yet🤞
@Pinkstuffs that sounds like my daughter, she sleeps well at night with 2 feeds but during the day her naps are terrible 🙈she has also been waking at exactly 20 mins. I think it could be the 4 month sleep regression starting but could also be overtiredness-- I downloaded the huckleberry app this morning and it told me to put her down for a nap half an hour before I usually would. Im going to try the app for a month and see if it helps🤞the short naps are really frustrating!

sugarplum33 · 04/08/2024 14:08

@Pinkstuffs We are experiencing similar, his night sleep is really good and he goes around 7-7 with a sleepy feed at 2am but his naps are really bad and he's exhausted all day.

Ttcmumma · 04/08/2024 19:52

My 16 week old had a couple weeks of dodgy night sleep. Recurrent waking, only back to sleep in my bed, up at 3am etc. Nighttime seems to be better now back to around 10-11 hours with 2 feeds roughly but she also doesn't seem to know how to nap in the daytime lol. If we are driving somewhere she naps OK, put and about she's too nosey there is 0 sleep and home is one or two 30 min naps all day it's insane! She still sleeps fat better than my son did for his first 4 years of his life so I'm impressed 🤣

MumDaisy1980 · 05/08/2024 10:06

@Janeykat Thanks! I never really heard the term of sleep regression but would look more into it. Thank you!

Janeykat · 07/08/2024 22:59

I spoke too soon, my daughters night sleep now does seem to be being affected, shes now waking hourly and can only go back to sleep if I feed her. She also only had 2 naps today and I had to hold her for both :( anyone else? I am desperate for sleep

Aprilpudding24 · 08/08/2024 14:49

Yesterday my LO had four 20 minute naps. Today they've been over 2 hours each time. I haven't done anything different today. She really keeps me on my toes 😂. I've given up trying to find a pattern or logic haha

Applesandpears23 · 09/08/2024 09:03

For a breastfed baby it is really common to have 1 breast a 20 minute power nap, the other breast and back down for a deeper sleep. So if baby is waking after 20 mins try to feed back to sleep.

Janeykat · 09/08/2024 09:59

@Aprilpudding24 thank you that gives me hope🤞🤣
@Applesandpears23 thats interesting i havent heard that before, I will give that a go thank you!

Ek21 · 09/08/2024 11:34

@Applesandpears23 I had never heard of this either, going to give it a try today! Anyone else starting to plan for baby to be in their own room? I am planning on starting naps during the day in her own room to get her used to the cot - anyone tried this before?

I really would not recommend starting this until your baby is at least 6 months old. They need to be in the same room as you for all sleep/naps until 6 months, it massively reduces the SIDS risk x

Ek21 · 09/08/2024 16:06

@Mrsttcno1 thanks for the reply, I would be staying in the room with her, just wanted to start early to make the transition easier

Janeykat · 09/08/2024 20:49

@Ek21 I think thats a good idea to get them used to the cot early, I did it with my son qround 4.5 months and he actually slept way better in the cot. I plan on doing the same with my daughter in a few weeks. Just waiting on some black out biinds for the nursery which I also found helped massively. Good luck!
