Mumsnet posters of the future will be able to describe 'doing a CaliforniaCooper' Grin

HRP1990 · 30/01/2024 21:38

@longingtobe23 I didn't work out in my first pregnancy, but have been for the last year (reformer Pilates) so I’m wondering if I’m going to feel any different/cope any better this time around? Most sources say to carry on with the exercise you were doing pre pregnancy so that’s what I’m planning to do. (However it’s hard to find the motivation in the first trimester!)

@ForeverHopeful67 amazing! Congrats on the beautiful scan 🫶🏼

Xur · 30/01/2024 21:48

@HRP1990 I’ve got no intention to do any exercises in the first trimester. I’m too worried I might cause some issues. My grandma, she stretched too much and ended up pulling the peritoneum when pregnant.

bouncingblob · 30/01/2024 21:51

Is going to the gym during pregnancy a bad thing?! Everything I've read said to keep doing it if possible, just no weights.

californiacooper · 30/01/2024 21:55

@Decaffe @MudandMoet oh my gosh this is brilliant. It's made my day 🤣. Well actually it's the second thing that made my day.

@emmatcc1 I think I missed the start of your story I'm so sorry about that, I hope your scan goes well tomorrow. How many weeks are you/what's happened so far?

What a day guys... this is a hard old journey and I've only been on it 10 days. 🤯
I'm still cramping (a bit more than earlier) and still bleeding (it's not heavy I guess just on wiping), so the lord only knows what will happen next... I'm trying to not feel deflated or elated however am managing both.. at the same time. This being a California Cooper pregnancy and all

HRP1990 · 30/01/2024 21:55

Oh no! I’m not going to lie, I had to google where the peritoneum was lol @Xur

californiacooper · 30/01/2024 22:00

Re exercise- I thought it was fine to do exactly what you have been doing so far, so people that lift weights can continue to, and you only need to make changes later. Probably not a good idea to start full on weightlifting if you haven't been doing so already.

I did go to the gym before The Bleed, so I miiiggghhtt just chill back on the leg press for the time being.

I think also getting so out of breath you can't hold a conversation is best avoided, which will obviously be a different level for all of us based on current fitness.

I might just try to not eat crap and do some yoga and go for walks until I know what's going on in there. The instant reduction in wine consumption must surely have some effect on calorie intake... I was hoping anyway!
Reformer Pilates is amazing but the place near me only does midday and I'm always working.

californiacooper · 30/01/2024 22:02

@decaffe @xur.... I might need that Facebook link again....

rupertbear91 · 30/01/2024 22:07

Wow a new thread already!

I'm having a bit of a panic this evening just wiped and had very slightly brown tinged cm and am now panicking like crazy. I went to a reformer Pilates session this afternoon but the instructor knows I'm pregnant and was super careful I'm terrified somethings wrong 😔

emmatcc1 · 30/01/2024 22:27

@MudandMoet I still have all my symptoms which are sore boobs and nipples, nausea, vivid dreams, thirst, dry skin and fatigue.

@Xur That comment made me laugh lol. I wish but my gyno is and older lady with 30 year experience in ultrasounds so highly unlikely she missed anything.

@californiacooper I went in last Wednesday for an ultrasound at 8 weeks and measured way behind with small fetal pole and no heartbeat so I have another ultrasound tomorrow to check for growth.

I have been getting occasional pains here and there but there more on the sides and dull pinching that last a short time. No cramping or bleeding so far.

MrsB2019x · 30/01/2024 22:30

Beautiful scan @ForeverHopeful67 Best way to start a new thread 😍

MrsB2019x · 30/01/2024 22:31

Best of luck for your scan tomorrow @emmatcc1 whst time is it? Hopefully you don’t have to wait around too long

Loveyourselffirst · 30/01/2024 22:36

6-7 weeks here 🧡

emmatcc1 · 30/01/2024 22:41

@MrsB2019x Thank you! They told me to come in between 7-8 am so I’m glad I don’t have to wait all day to find out.

MudandMoet · 30/01/2024 22:44

@emmatcc1 those symptoms seems spot on and like you say no bad cramps or bleeds so it's all sounding really positive - good luck for tomorrow xx

@ForeverHopeful67 lovely scan pic 🥰

californiacooper · 30/01/2024 22:48

@emmatcc1 it's great that they are keeping a really close eye on you, everything crossed for tomorrow, I can sympathise with how unsettling it can be being told something you aren't expecting. Let's hope your little bean has had a growth spurt this week.

@rupertbear91 I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, the sonographer I saw today said bleeding of all different types was really normal, more than you think, even full bleeds like a menstruation, and baby is still tucked up growing normally. Which seems wild to me but it gave me a bit of comfort. Even though they told me to contact them if it bled again.🥴 (<- what does that emoji actually mean???)

longingtobe23 · 30/01/2024 23:26

Thanks to all that replied - I know GD can just be a thing you get not caused, but I guess I’ve been told I’m high risk so I will do what I can in my control and stay as healthy as possible

I will continue to work out I have decided, I walk up and down 8 or more flights of steps x4 times a day minimum at work carrying student folders/workbooks etc I literally have to stay strong or I would collapse in a heap in front of students 🫠

until I admit defeat and use the lift I will be peloton and light weights as normal x

Starlight11111 · 31/01/2024 00:02

@longingtobe23 fellow peloton user 👋🏻 I've still been doing 3x classes a week, maybe just at slightly less intensity!

Starlight11111 · 31/01/2024 00:03

@emmatcc1 will be thinking of you for tomorrow and hoping for a positive update! X

Hi! Not really sure how this works but marking my spot here 👋

WolfMother326 · 31/01/2024 06:24

Just wanted to share a positive update. I spent the last several days terrified because my symptoms had gone, which happened in my last pregnancy that didn't stick. I'm still abroad but decided to get checked out instead of waiting. Was so relieved to see a wiggly baby on the screen with a strong heartbeat. Measuring ahead of what I thought, so I'm 9 weeks today with a revised due date of 4 September. Feeling so happy and much calmer.

Due September 2024 PART 3 ❤️🩷💛💚💙💜
Bakerbean · 31/01/2024 06:32

@WolfMother326 what an incredible scan picture! So happy & relieved for you 🥰
