To those of you already growing visible bumps - I am very envious! I have a ‘B Belly’ anyway and sadly have never had a flat stomach. I hold my weight largely around my belly and it’s really been getting me down, wondering how long it’s going to take for me to start showing and whether I’ll ever get that ‘pop’ later on down the line, or always have the B shape. When I lie on my front, I can definitely feel that I’m different/bigger, and I can tell in the tightness of my leggings/joggers/pyjama bottoms too. I have ordered some maternity leggings because everything is starting to feel uncomfortable. But I just feel fat and I’m finding it really hard on my self confidence.

Having a really low day today, but still insanely grateful to be where I am (10+4), and am just trying to enjoy the ride with all it’s ups and downs.

To those of you curious about not feeling nauseous around week 8 - I had a peak where I suddenly felt absolutely fine again… then it came back, then in week 9 felt like I’d turned a corner and was on the way out… and now in week 10 I’ve been more nauseous than ever 😂 so, you just never know!

Is anyone else starting to get really curious about what gender they’re having? I’ve been convinced BOY so far, but this last week I’m wondering if maybe I’ve been wrong. Who knows!

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 15/02/2024 15:27

11+4 weeks here and I've been holding up the first button of my jeans with a hair elastic since week 8 because of the bloat! Will probably show soon, I'm definitely getting rounder all over tbh. All the carbs and sitting on the sofa won't have helped.

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 15/02/2024 15:29

@Bakerbean are you doing an NIPT test? That will tell you the gender too but not sure they offer it in the UK? I live abroad at the moment so it's slightly different for me, I already know!

MudandMoet · 15/02/2024 16:20

🥳 12 weeks today girls!! WTAF ??? I'm not counting my chickens just yet (no pun intended, bastard fox had all mine in November) just never thought I'd get here after a hellish few years. Definitely not relaxing that all is okay or even telling folk yet but I can't help but feel a tiny bit hopeful this is actually bloody happening!!

@40andhopeful could you be a few days further on maybe? Ive been almost symptom free since 9 weeks and eating exactly as usual. I'm only thinking I'm still pregnant because of tender ish boobs and the constant pissing!

Has anyone else not told anyone yet? I am feeling like I'm getting ready now to want to tell folk but I do like knowing no one knows too in a funny way. Going to wait 3 more weeks I think 😏 xxx

Lillers · 15/02/2024 17:28

@MudandMoet Wow 12 weeks! Congrats! I’m 8 weeks today and every week feels like a huge milestone - 12 feels like the biggest one in the foreseeable though!

californiacooper · 15/02/2024 17:28

Congrats @MudandMoet !!! 12 weeks!!!
Man I feel like I've been pregnant forever already, I had my booking appointment today and my EDD has been given as 2nd October :( as I measured a week behind my expected based on my LMP. So I'm now still only at 7 weeks. It's going to be weeeeekkksss before my 12 week scan. I've pretty much sold myself on having another Pvt scan next weekend to hopefully see something a bit better than the last one. 5 weeks is ages away, my nerves will get the better of me I think!

How is everyone else doing?? I'm still
Not feeling nauseous. The vivid dreams are REAL. (When I'm not awake at 4am). Last night I had my first nightmare about post birth. I was trying to find nappies and turned around and the baby was gone and I couldn't remember what room id left him in and I was screaming "WHERE IS THE BABY!!!!!!" But there wasn't anyone there. I'm sure that this will continue for the rest of my life.....

Cat2022 · 15/02/2024 17:39

@Bakerbean I have a B belly too after my daughter but all bumps count. I found a few accounts on Instagram of people with similar midsize body shapes and it helps when I’m feeling self conscious.

NorthernMammy · 15/02/2024 18:14

Ive been following by haven't posted yet. 10+3 today and got some light bleeding. Looks pretty brown ATM. Would really, really appreciate hearing from anyone who's had this and it been ok.

MudandMoet · 15/02/2024 18:58

Thanks @Lillers @californiacooper 🥰

@NorthernMammy hi! Someone will definitely be along soon as we've had quite a few spotting on here, if you're not getting seriously painful cramps and it's more brown than fresh blood things could definitely be absolutely fine. Hope you're okay xx

siobhanmt247 · 15/02/2024 19:24

@NorthernMammy i had a bit of light pink slotting and called epau and the midwife said it sounded like nothing to worry about, it would probably turn brown which was ok too and just to monitor if it got any heavier. Lots of is have had spotting and been ok but call epau in the morning and see what they say

Khanga27 · 15/02/2024 19:35

@NorthernMammy i had brown spotting around the 6.5 week mark, and it really panicked me because of a previous miscarriage but it was fine. For me it was triggered by a transvaginal scan and I’ve seen things about people having it after intercourse for example as it can dislodge old (brown) blood. I had a scan on Monday at 11 weeks and all was fine and was measuring ahead.

i would still advise keeping an eye and calling early pregnancy unit or contact your midwife for peace of mind.

DH asked me what he could do to make me feel more supported. I said it might be nice if he asks me questions about what’s happening with me.

This morning, I told him I’d been sick while he was in the shower. He stopped, thought for a moment, and then asked, “Was the sick runny or lumpy?”

Not the kind of question I’d been expecting, but he tried 😂

I almost woke DD up snorting 🤣🤣🤣

Emmaev · 15/02/2024 19:40

I’m 11+1 now, got my 12 week scan next wednesday when I’ll be exactly 12 weeks. The anxiety is picking up again, we saw little bean at 9+5 and they were dancing away. But does the constant anxiety ever end?

MrsB2019x · 15/02/2024 19:43

Blump is definitely happening here too. One of my colleagues at work told me I looked pregnant when I was only 9 weeks 😂 (she did know, it wasn’t a really rude comment haha)

@Bakerbean I have a B belly too since DD and the hideous c section pouch 😩 I’ve felt best in dresses and leggings, I tried to put on some jeans today and I felt so frumpy I had to revert back to trusty dresses!

NorthernMammy · 15/02/2024 19:44

Thank you @Khanga27 @MudandMoet and @siobhanmt247. I've got a scan at ob gyn tomorrow at 9.30. I feel crampy now so pretty scared but trying to stay hopeful.

MudandMoet · 15/02/2024 19:52

@NorthernMammy come back and let us know how you get on. Fingers crossed for you that all is okay and well xx

40andhopeful · 15/02/2024 20:02

@NorthernMammy hope everything is ok, I have heard loads of stories of brown or pink spotting in the first trimester and it is considered normal and everything is fine. Hope everything goes ok for you tomorrow

@MudandMoet congratulations on 12 weeks! Such a milestone!
I don't think I'm further on than initially thought but I have started to feel a bit more nauseous this evening so I probably should have just enjoyed feeling normal for a day 😂

Loving the bump pics! I have definitely become more bloated this week (8weeks) and I'm starting to think people in work will notice but don't think anyone would dare say anything to me. Most definitely showing earlier 2nd time round because I remember not really having a bump first time round even at 12 weeks and being really disappointed! 😂

Cat2022 · 15/02/2024 20:40

@MrsB2019x that dress is lovely! I need to buy some new things that will last a while and are comfy

ForeverHopeful67 · 15/02/2024 20:50

Had my "12 week" scan today ladies! Here they are putting their middle finger to the world already 🤣

I'm more around the 11 week mark so have to be rescanned in two weeks, I think it's also because of my tilted uterus as they struggled to get accurate measurements but all looked good and little one was so active!
Feels very real now!!

Xur · 15/02/2024 20:52

@MudandMoet congratulations! Do you feel relieved? I hope I will.

@MrsB2019x that is an absolutely lovely belly! 💚

Xur · 15/02/2024 20:53

@ForeverHopeful67 awh that’s fantastic! Do they often invite for an another scan on the 12 week scan? Or is that like a one time/rare case?

VT6 · 15/02/2024 20:57

Ladies can I have some pregnancy pillow recommendations please…. The pain in my hips is unbearable- hoping that would help

Sydney1988 · 15/02/2024 21:19

@vt6 all my mum friends say the bbhugme pillow is life changing - I loathe to spend £150 on one though!!

I used bbhugme with my first and lent it to my sister during her pregnancy as she tried a bunch and they were all awful. Hopefully if things go well I'll be asking for it back in a few weeks! Expensive but worth it IMO, you can use it for nursing later too

Babno3 · 15/02/2024 21:23

@NorthernMammy oh I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this stress. I have two kids and in both pregnancy’s I had spotting throughout. A lot of the time bright red so brown or pink I wouldn’t worry about, obvs tell your midwife and get it checked. Is there much of it?xx
