My nausea is so bad today - it’s been bad on and off but this has been the worst day so far. To make it worse, my cat just threw up and husband isn’t home so I had to clear it up. It doesn’t normally bother me at all but I gagged so many times this time 😭

Xur · 31/01/2024 14:41

@emmatcc1 I’m sorry about the outcome❤️ I hope it doesn’t take long to conceive again

@Lillers I know it sounds horrible but I read that and I found the image of this extremely funny 😂
I had business meetings with business partners today and just before them and in the car on the way to the meetings (my boss behind the wheel) I was holding on to my dear life to manage the nausea😂 He was talking about business objectives and about the upcoming meetings and what we will try to discuss and I was just thinking to myself “don’t spew on the director’s dashboard 🤢” 😂

Lillers · 31/01/2024 14:49

@Xur God the nausea is the worst! When I was clearing up the cat sick I just kept thinking it would be so much more horrendous if I then threw up on the cat sick 😂😂😂

Hi 👋 can I please join you guys? I’ve been following your threads for days (read all of part 2 and have finally caught up!) I’m pregnant with number 4 (I have 3 girls aged 9,3 & 1). I’m really anxious about this pregnancy though, not necessarily about the pregnancy itself but rather the need for a new car and to organise sleeping arrangements. My symptoms seemed to have pretty much disappeared today but im not concerned, quite glad actually to not be feeling sea sick! I really can’t believe I’m going to be doing this all over again (This will definitely be my last pregnancy) I had my first in 2014 and if this one sticks my last will be in 2024. 10 years of babies 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you guys! I reckon I’m due September 28th but I’m not sure as I’ve not had any scans or appointments yet.

tierneytarny · 31/01/2024 13:53

@californiacooper I must admit, your experience has made me think seriously about it. What an absolutely awful situation (though thankfully such a wonderful result with EPU). My husband is 50/50 which makes me think we should wait….but I think I’ll just be like this every day 🙈

I am feeling a bit more chilled about it now tbh. After hiding this thread (sorry girls) I headed over to the miscarriage/loss threads, and it seems that (as we all know) the first trimester is risky and seemingly things can just stop developing for no real reason we can tell. So although I've got a bean for now (or a poppy seed or whatever it is) I know I've got a journey ahead of me, one which I can actually do nothing about. She may be all tucked up in there dividing and whatnot. Or not. So I was all fully signed up to scans as often as I can get them, but I think I'll just let it be for now.
... if I get to 12 weeks and actually see a fully formed fetus, then I think I may change and get excited and want to see him all the time.

Cinai · 31/01/2024 15:05

Joining team nausea 🤢 For the past 3 days, I’ve been living on toast bread and didn’t leave the house (luckily I WFH) because it just didn’t feel possible to get anywhere. But I think I need better coping strategies for the coming weeks…did anyone try / consider asking for medication?

longingtobe23 · 31/01/2024 15:22

TMI but anyone had bowel issues rather than just sickness?

I am having a bit of both … but today I was in agony again with toilet pain 🥹 I had this last on Sunday. It comes on so suddenly like IBS. I’ve read it can be rising progesterone but wow. It’s like nothing else.

Not very fun when I am in a work setting Tuesday-Thursday, praying for the half term to come kick!

tierneytarny · 31/01/2024 15:26

@californiacooper that’s such a sensible way to think about this. I caved and booked; I think I just want to know that there is a bean there and these symptoms aren’t in my head and that there’s a heartbeat. After that, I’m hoping I’m the same as you (I was in my other pregnancies).

@longingtobe23 I had the same issue last night. Horrificly urgent and stuck in the bathroom. It has eased today thankfully.

Xur · 31/01/2024 15:32

@longingtobe23 I’ve had constipation for weeks now. Makes me wonder how am I going to push a baby out if I can’t get digested toast and yoghurt out 😂

Decaffe · 31/01/2024 15:33

I caved and booked; I think I just want to know that there is a bean there and these symptoms aren’t in my head and that there’s a heartbeat.

That’s exactly how I was feeling on Sunday night @tierneytarny, I’d worked myself up into thinking I wasn’t at all pregnant and it was game over. Interestingly since my scan on Monday, my resting heart rate has gone down quite a lot over the past two days which I can only attribute to the stress I was under and feeling that a weight has been lifted.

Fik88 · 31/01/2024 15:38

@emmatcc1 so sorry to hear your sad news. Take care

My symptoms don't seem to have come back, hoping everything is okay. I won't be booking a private scan, i will just wait and see what happens. I bled only a little bit last time at 10.5 weeks but they managed to get me in for a scan but baby had stopped growing at 9+1 so did medical management at home to pass everything. Its making me anxious now the closer i get to 9 weeks

MudandMoet · 31/01/2024 15:45

Welcome new ladies 👋🏼 congratulations 🥳

@longingtobe23 it's funny you should mention this because yesterday afternoon I was out on a lovely long walk with the pooch and then suddenly I was like whoa!! Put it this way, I daren't fart!! Rushed back and thankfully wasn't caught short and been fine since but that's so unusual for me, I can go days without and never really get a good urge to go. Been busy all day today and anxious of it happening again but thankfully been fine! So far today Ive just done 2x 30 mins walks just in case 🤣

SmushyButt · 31/01/2024 15:49

@longingtobe23 yea I’ve had bowel issues today too 😮‍💨 came out of nowhere. Glad to know I’m not alone!

ForeverHopeful67 · 31/01/2024 15:54

Omg @Lillers I am totally with you. I feel like everyday since I found out I'm pregnant I've came downstairs to a lovely puddle of puke left by one of my cats!! I almost cried one day 🤣 it's like they are out to test me morning sickness each day!! ( totally not every day and I'm very much exaggerating but it's a real life struggle right now haha)

Lillers · 31/01/2024 15:58

@longingtobe23 I’ve had bowel issues on and off - actually a few days before my BFP I had a horrendous bathroom half hour for no apparent reason, and when I got my positive test I did think back and wonder if it was related. Since then I’ve had a couple of bad nights (waking up in the night needing to desperately get to the bathroom). Once it’s out I always feel loads better with all my other symptoms for a couple of hours.

Lillers · 31/01/2024 16:00

@ForeverHopeful67 Whyyyy are they doing this to us?? I’m also finding the smell of cat food tricky to deal with - once it’s come back as sick it’s unbearable!

hol92 · 31/01/2024 16:20

@longingtobe23 definitely not alone with this, I've been terrible all day! Does anyone has the belly cramps to go with it? Like you have minor food poisoning or something x

doitjustice95 · 31/01/2024 16:21

@Lillers

I literally screeched at my mum who opened a packet of Walkers Cheese and Onion crisps and was handing me some whilst I was driving, honestly felt to literally vomit out the simple smell of the crisps. Sadly I’d usually love a cheese and onion crisp on a normal day 😂

Demi55 · 31/01/2024 16:37

@californiacooper thank you, yeah the EPU have been really good, I had a scan at 5 weeks then one today at 6 weeks then another in 8 weeks to see heart beat then I should be discharged at that point hopefully. I think I’m going to stay away from private scans until I’m past 12 weeks. I guess the people doing it aren’t trained and therefore aren’t 100% sure what to spot.

Xur · 31/01/2024 16:50

@Demi55

depends,
the scan I’m going for today is at a clinic that’s had industry awards and been named best sonography in the South West. The scan cost a whopping £109.00 aswell so I really expect people educated to a degree to be seeing me today. I don’t particularly trust scanners that take £65.00 for the scan.

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 31/01/2024 16:58

Hello new thread!

I was feeling smug/worried yesterday that morning sickness hadn’t hit, and it hit me like a ton of bricks today. I’ve had awful nausea and extreme hunger all day (6+1).

Ive got a scan booked for next Friday at 7+3 as I’ve had previous losses and am on some serious meds (steroids), so need to make sure it’s viable as otherwise will stop the drugs.

Is anyone else worried about telling work? I want to leave it as long as possible but this is DC3 for me so suspect it will be harder to hide.

chocolateanddietcoke · 31/01/2024 17:02

rupertbear91 · 31/01/2024 09:36

@emmatcc1 so sorry will be thinking of you.

I'm still having brown discharge this morning. Rang GP and they said they can't see me till next Wednesday so rang EPU and it's just an answer phone 😫

Go to your local maternity department at hospital they'll have a triage service and will be able to scan you

rupertbear91 · 31/01/2024 17:07

@chocolateanddietcoke thanks I have Ben here waiting to see a triage nurse for the last 2 hours 😫 although they have already said there are no scanners here today

Demi55 · 31/01/2024 17:10

@Xur tbh I have no experience, it’s my first baby. The EPU hate private scans, they said they often get things wrong the the patients are referred to them. It’s really good you can trust them, it’s crazy how much it costs!

Fawklight · 31/01/2024 17:13

@californiacooper I'm now on the same boat as you, waiting for 12 week.

I had a call today from EPU although they took swabs they have no reason for my bleeds. I've seen the little one and they are ok for now.

I'm not going through pregnancy again after this. After my first and having bleeds and complications, I was hoping that this time would be ok but it hasn't been.

I'm 2 and done. Will probably get my tubes tied or cut.
