@FirstT1meMum congratulations. She obviously didn't want to miss Christmas!

Making me realise that baby is so nearly here now! Seeing all these babies arrive. I should probably prepare!

Hummusanddipdip · 21/12/2023 19:13

Awwwh @FirstT1meMum congratulations!!! She is gorgeous and such a lovely name!!!!

Best Christmas present!

They really are coming thick and fast now! So excited for us all!

On the labour front, with ds I had what was put down to being braxton hicks for about 2 days before I went to the mat unit (basically told "you're 37 weeks, baby won't be coming just yet" in the end I said I wanted to be checked, didn't care if they sent me home) when we got there my plug came away on the midwife who checked me in triage's hand and she said "baby is coming now, we're going to delivery" he would have been born in his waters, but was tearing me in 3 places so they burst them. He arrived 20 minutes after we got to the unit. I'm expecting similar this time, just hoping Peterborough don't try to send me to Hinchingbrooke because they haven't space. He'll arrive on the aide of the A1, if not somewhere on the parkway system 🫣

Bar a bit of cramping over night, today I've had lightening crotch, massive acid reflux, soft stools but not diarrhea (can't remember if that was something I had with ds) and loads of sleep. Movement is moreor less all lower down near my hips and bikini line, bump is rock solid though! He keeps poking his bum up under my ribs and then dropping back down to it being about belly button level.

Also garage conversion is pretty much complete! Painter is coming back tomorrow to touch up, washing machines being replumbed and carpet is being fitted too 😁 then we can make the house look house-like again and not like a bomb has gone off everywhere 🤣🤣🤣

1992H · 21/12/2023 19:17

@FirstT1meMum congratulations! She’s lovely 🥰 xx

Luhou · 21/12/2023 19:23

@Hummusanddipdip so pleased your work is done. We're in the same sittuation. Kitchen is 95% done and usable, so need to move in to the new kitchen and clean everywhere! Tried to do some stuff today but not very succesful with 3 yo in tow. She's off to nanny's tomorrow for a few hours to give me some time to crack on!

JaffaCake123 · 21/12/2023 19:25

Congratulations @FirstT1meMum Great to hear you had a fast labour and she is beautiful ❤

Onedayatatime24 · 21/12/2023 19:35

@FirstT1meMum ahhh beautiful. Congratulations!!

WitcheryDivine · 21/12/2023 19:46

Oh wow @FirstT1meMum so speedy and a lovely midwinter baby. Congratulations and have a wonderful time getting to know each other 🥰

Thanks for the signs of early Labour stories. I haven’t a clue how much longer I have to go but I have a sweep booked after Christmas so hopefully soonish ☺️

Hummusanddipdip · 21/12/2023 19:58

Fully with you there @Luhou ds is 4 and is so curious about what's being done. He spent today asking the guys on site what they were doing while they were just trying to get on with it. I made so many cups of tea and coffee and provided biscuits and chocolates to compensate for him 🤣

Good luck with your alone time for clearing and organising! Hopefully you'll get a good chunk done

LittleAlien24 · 21/12/2023 20:25

@Hummusanddipdip glad to hear they finished your garage conversion.
@FirstT1meMum congratulations, she's gorgeous
@Luhou good to hear ye manage to finish for Christmas as well

Our ceiling is almost done aswell. They said it will be finished tomorrow. I really hope so.

I had about 10hour round trip today. Im absolutely wrecked. My belly is sore and got few sharp weird pains when walking during the day. I just really hope he won't come until next week.
Im back on the road tomorrow morning, quite few hours of driving again but it's worth it because im picking my hubby up.

Flossiepot · 21/12/2023 20:25

Congratulations @FirstT1meMum - sounds like such a dreamy birth story too. Hope you're resting up and getting to know your little one now!

Hummusanddipdip · 21/12/2023 20:31

Ah @LittleAlien24 that's excellent that they'll have it done! Hopefully you can get to the fire and start heating soon?

Owch to the long trips, really hope they're not too uncomfortable with the pains you're having? Hopefully baby holds on until yourhusband is home

Salamander91 · 21/12/2023 20:35

Redpanda21 · 21/12/2023 20:38

LozzieLoo · 21/12/2023 20:38

@FirstT1meMum huge congratulations! Hope you’re all doing well ❤️

buckingmad · 21/12/2023 20:59

@FirstT1meMum congrats!

Anyone still driving but feeling like they can’t? When I change gear it literally feels like her head is in the way 😂 I don’t remember this with DD!

LittleAlien24 · 21/12/2023 21:01

@Hummusanddipdip we have fingers crossed that we can have access to our fire back tomorrow.
Today's trip was tough. Wasn't sure am i having contractions or just uncomfortable from sitting so long and driving.
@buckingmad yes im still driving. This week it feels that's all I've been doing. Today i had about 10 hour round trip, was driving myself. Changing gears isn't a problem, it's just that my belly gets uncomfortable and he usually decides to give me strong kicks in the middle of traffic lol

Lightningrain · 21/12/2023 21:02

@FirstT1meMum congratulations! She’s beautiful and it sounds like she was definitely ready to be out!

I was feeling quite confident about the birth after my hypnobirthing course but now feeling a bit anxious about the prospect of induction. I’ve been trying to read positive induction stories as all of what I’d heard in the past about inductions had been quite negative! I’m happy to go with it at 40 weeks if they’re not happy with my blood pressure but really hoping things happen naturally before then.

Does anyone know if a stretch and sweep is automatically offered at 39 weeks? I have an appointment next week at exactly 39 weeks with the community midwife and I’m wondering whether she’ll offer me one whilst I’m there.

FirstT1meMum · 21/12/2023 21:26

Thank you everyone. We are both doing well, struggling a bit with breast feeding but midwives say its nothing to worry about at this moment. Definitely living in our little bubble. DH just gone home for the night as I'm on a ward now but there is no one else in any of the beds in this room so it's eerily quiet

Mummyme87 · 21/12/2023 21:31

@FirstT1meMum glad to hear you’re both doing well. Hopefully she will let you have some sleep.
keep baby in the kitchen, lots of skin to skin
and hopefully the feeding will improve ❤️

Congrats - such wonderful news. It might feel eery but we are all here with you. Sure there will be plenty of insomniacs to keep you company overnight xxx
