Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

Ahh great news you have your scan date @MixedCouple mine will be at 12+3 too, just after new year so I also have a scan next week (my first ever!) that I’ve booked for a bit of pre-Christmas reassurance.

I can’t wait for the next couple of weeks to pass, and to just get to 12 weeks though I also know I shouldn’t be wishing my life away!

MixedCouple · 14/12/2023 09:13

@MrsHousePlant awww that will be nice to see the little bean.
Oh yes enjoy every moment it really fpiea by. Like we think oh we have 9 months but nope we actually only have 7 left - less then 7 months!!!!

Thanks for making new thread!

GP won't give me anything to help with nausea and my vomiting started last night. Which is a pain as I need to be able to keep my normal medication down! I got given a leaflet instead, like that's gonna help!

MrsHousePlant · 14/12/2023 10:52

@missmoosh so sorry to hear that they weren’t any help. If you need to ask to see another GP and push for something more than a leaflet!

missmoosh · 14/12/2023 10:56

@MrsHousePlant yeah I'm gonna give it until next week and if things are still just as bad/any worse I'm gonna push a lot harder. Doesn't look like I will be getting back to work any time soon. My sick record is already abysmal due to serious ill health/chronic disabilities so it's stressing me out having to take more time off!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 14/12/2023 10:59

Hi all,

I’ve been lurking for a while on the other thread but just joining you now if that’s ok!

I'm nearly 7w6d (8 weeks tomorrow!) - have a private scan booked for next week for a bit of Christmas reassurance and so nervous. I’m high risk due to previous premature birth/preeclampsia but still no response from the midwives which is stressing me out a bit!

Hope everyone is going ok and those of you with nausea / sickness aren’t suffering too badly with it!

Oatmilktea · 14/12/2023 11:05

Thanks for making the new thread @MixedCouple. Every time I need to take myself off to bed I’m so grateful that I’m able to do it, I suppose I’m as well making the most of it as if we have another child I’ll just need to power through!

We are going for our early scan tonight. Based on my LMP my due date should be around the 25th of July however my cycles are allover the place (last few cycles have ranged anywhere from 27 to 44 days) so I won’t be surprised if I’m not actually as far along as I thought.

@missmoosh sorry they’re not taking you seriously. Try and speak with another GP and even see if they can sign you off. I read somewhere that pregnancy related illness doesn’t count towards your usual sickness record

NphysT · 14/12/2023 13:32

Hi, wondering if anyone can help. I think I got food poisoning last night, does anyone know the risks of miscarriage at 11 weeks if you've had food poisoning? Have my 12 week scan next Tuesday and a bit worried now.

On a positive, I felt like I had a bit of a bump this morning above my bellybutton which feels solid. How is everyone else doing?

trebuvie · 14/12/2023 13:58

New thread! Exciting!

Had a private "8 week" scan today. Was 8+2 based on LMP but I had always thought I might be a whole week earlier. Confirmed! Baby was there, we heard the heartbeat which was surprisingly moving, but as suspected baby is measuring more like 7wks than 8. New EDD is 1 August although will be confirmed at 12wk scan apparently!

After the bleeding I had last week I really wasn't sure what to expect but it now feels really real and "confirmed" (along with nausea making its appearance this week as well...)

Busyhedgehog · 14/12/2023 16:20

I hope it's OK for me to join as well. I'm 8+4 by now but still quite "cautious". I've had several scans already (high risk pregnancy) and the most recent one today at the equivalent of my booking appointment. Everything is OK for the moment, which is good. It's an IVF pregnancy, our 6th transfer, and the only one to have gotten this far.
I've had all day nausea with DS, nearly 7 years ago, but this one seems worse. I hope it sorts itself out soo. I'm on a really high dose of progesterone and I think that's got to do with it as well. 🤢
I'm quite glad I've been signed off, even if it means I'm missing all the Christmas fun with my class. Trying to take things one day at a time, though.

Oneeightoneoh · 14/12/2023 18:28

Hi guys! Just had another scan today as my NHS one isn't until 3rd Jan when I'll be 13 weeks and some days! It was lovely having another scan after how anxious I've been feeling, measuring 10 weeks and 5 days and we got to hear a heartbeat! They look like proper babies now compared to my 7 week scan!

Oatmilktea · 14/12/2023 19:31

Had my scan this evening and measuring at 8+2 and everything looking fine. It makes this nausea somewhat worth it!!

hopingfor23 · 14/12/2023 20:11

Early scan tomorrow afternoon and booking app in the morning. Feeling nervous but hopeful ❤️ Should be 8 + 2 and due 24th July ish. I recall there were a couple of others with a scan tomorrow? I'm looking forward to seeing that heart beat and hopefully I can relax more it made such a difference with son. Good luck to anyone with scans coming up and so great to hear of you all having seen your little ones for the first time 🥰

Wise0wl · 14/12/2023 21:44

Just checking in and thanks for the new thread @MixedCouple

I’ve got my booking in appointment tomorrow and my next scan on Monday (at EPU due to previous MMC and spotting in this pregnancy).

Today was the first day I felt symptoms (nausea) and actually felt pregnant, but then had lots of pink on wiping this evening (more than usual spotting, nothing after that would need a pad), which has brought back the anxiety. Am trying not to think too much about it and go along tomorrow, and see what Monday brings. Good luck tomorrow @hopingfor23 and others with scans!

Alwaystired2023 · 14/12/2023 21:47

Ah hi ladies, recognise lots of you from the conception threads how lovely 💕

Feeling truly awful over here 🤣 enjoying all the lovely strong symptoms (!)

MixedCouple · 15/12/2023 04:32

@missmoosh agree, if your taking meds then your shoukd see another GP and insist they prescribe the tablets to prevent vomiting.

I don't believe employers count pregnancy related sickness and time off with normal sickness.

@Morningcoffeeaddict welcome! Oooooh that will be nice and can understand why.
Is that the midwives at the birthing centre or conauktant led hoapital? If they are not being helpful then contact the GP or the department direct. As with your history I would have assumes they would want to see you sooner. Mine were dodging me and putting me off but I kept calling and hounding. I told them I am away from end of week 7 until week 11 and won't be able to attend any aota. I got a call back right away (left a VM) and they saw me 2 days later. I know it is a pain but I would keep calling.

@NphysT oh no how are your feeling now? I would contact the midwives 24/7 line and tell them how you are feeling. I don't know the risks but I would wait until next week to get advise. They may want to see you sooner it depends how bad your symptoms are. Just keep having pleanty of fluids and what you can keep down. Bland foods etc. Hope you feel better soon

@trebuvie welcome! Glad all was well with baby at the scan. Yea the 12 week scan is the most accurate.

I have to say even with my irregular cycles NHS pregnancy calculator due date was spot on with my DS they said 4th Nov and he showed up 4th Nov at 9am 😂 although Midwives and scans said 6th Nov. My cycles at that point varied from 32 days - 42 days.

@Busyhedgehog welcome and congrats. What a milestone. Fingers and toes crossed for a healthy and happy pregnancy. Oh yea the Prog will contribute. But all good signs.

@Oneeightoneoh awww glad all went well with the scan. It feels like forever but my scan is not to far off. I am still not believing 100% that is am pregnant. The symptoms remind me but it will be glad to finally have the scan.

@Oatmilktea yay! So happy all is well and your right on track. You can relax a bit over the holidays. Will you be sharing the news?

@hopingfor23 all the best tomorrow. Having that apt is a milestone. Hope it all goes well.

The NHS this time say due date 26th July but that is incorrect. I know ovulation day was on CD16 so I would be due around 22nd. And with DS I had him at 39w 5d. So I am thinking more around 22nd.

@@Wise0wl all the best tomorrow. Hopefully the spotting is not concerning. But understand with your history hard not to think the worst. Having the symptoms is reassuring.

@Alwaystired2023 Snap! I can't go into shops anymore food shops. I found out today. I gagged in my mouth and had the worst nausea the whole day. Despite having ginger tea and Almonds. I feel rotten. And on top of that my DS took a 20min nap whereas normally it is 2 hrs so I didn't have any down time or time to nap. And DS woke me up at 4am coughing, still poorley. So I am wide awake now. I had my first midnight Munchies last night. Still only tolerating bland foods. A crumpet and Babybel 😂

The only things I can keep down is wheatabix with cold milk, all breads, cheese, bland pasta with cheese and little sauce. I am still having some fruits. But taking a pregnancy multivitamin until my symptoms subside.

Hi everyone checking in on the new thread, although I didn’t post a lot on the last one as still struggling with anxiety following a MMC in August.

Had my booking appointment on Monday where they talked a lot about my blood type (Rhesus negative) and how I’ll have to go for an anti-d injection every time I knock my stomach or one of my dogs jump on my stomach etc…I’m the clumsiest person ever so I feel like I’ll be at the hospital getting injections constantly 😕 anyone else got this blood type?

Got a second private scan on Sunday where I should be 10 weeks, feel extremely nervous!

@MixedCouple I’m with you on the bland foods, except I’m not too bad during the day, my nausea seems to kick in during the afternoon so it’s just evening meals that I need to be super bland 🤢

@Wise0wl sorry to hear about the pink spotting, hope you’re doing okay, are you going to mention it at the booking appointment today?

Good luck to everyone getting scans today 🍀

Feeling better now think it was just a one time thing🙈. Have decided to just wait till Tuesday and try not to stress. Thank you for replying x

Morningcoffeeaddict · 15/12/2023 06:33

@MixedCouple - your nausea sounds awful, you poor thing! Hope it doesn’t hang around too long for you and you’re more comfortable (able to go in food shops) soon! Thanks for the advice, you’re right I probably should chase them. Our trust has a ridiculous system now where every pregnant woman in the county self refers through the main consultant-led hospital (and they tell you not to until you’re 6weeks) and they seem to just go through the forms one at a time by due date. There was a box to explain medical history but I doubt they’re reading it until you’re next in the queue. The email you get just says “call if you haven’t heard by 9 weeks” but that’ll be the last working day before Christmas for me.

@NphysT - glad you’re feeling better now, but just in case, I had food poisoning at about 15weeks with my last pregnancy and the midwife was very relaxed about it. Said as long as you don’t have a raging temperature and you’re not dehydrated then not to worry basically. I’d been panicking as all the pregnancy guidance says to avoid food poisoning at all costs but she wasn’t worried.

Alwaystired2023 · 15/12/2023 07:11

@MixedCouple oh it's awful isn't it, honestly I have never felt so bad - can't eat, can't leave the house, thank god my DH has been getting DC up and out in the morning I am good for nothing... have started taking b6 after reading lots and lots on threads on here (and checking with midwife) and I think 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I might be turning a corner - with first baby symptoms didn't subside until week 20 and I just don't have the energy this time round so I need something to make me better. Have stopped taking pregncare after hearing it can make some people worse - now just taking folic acid by itself and 2 sachets of spatone (I mean you can tell I'm desperate I'm just trying anything I think will help)

bringmearainbow · 15/12/2023 10:20

Just had my last scan at the EPU this morning we still have a heartbeat. Feels very surreal now just 2 more weeks to wait for 12 week scan

Surprisedbuthappy · 15/12/2023 10:43

Hi all, I've been following for ages but something has held me back from contributing. Still getting my head around it, I think! I'm just over 9 weeks and found out about 4 weeks ago. I'm 39 and this is my first pregnancy. I'd convinced myself it would take a long time and lots of tracking to get pregnant, but we hadn't even started trying properly - just got a bit less careful. I can't believe it! I had a private scan last week and heard the heartbeat. That was surreal! Apart from slight nausea that seems to be mostly triggered by being in the car, I've had almost no symptoms so I think that's making it even harder for it to sink in that it's real.

ExpectantEs · 15/12/2023 11:25

@Surprisedbuthappy Hey welcome! From a fellow 'No symptom'-er, just wanted to give you some encouragement that you're not alone.

I'm 10w5d and I haven't had a single symptom this whole time. This week I started to feel some prickling type feelings which is meant to be my uterus expanding, but that's about it. I also feel like I'm starting to get a little tiny weeny bump but it could also be bloating.

It still doesn't feel real to me, so I'm looking forward to my 12week scan in 2 weeks. My advice is to have positive thinking and not worth to much.
