Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

Just had my last scan at the EPU this morning we still have a heartbeat. Feels very surreal now just 2 more weeks to wait for 12 week scan

This sounds great! Excited for you - my 12 week scan is in 2 weeks as well & hope I can see all is well.

CB2805 · 15/12/2023 14:19

Hi ladies, hope you’re doing all well🫶🏻
was wondering why the group has been so quite, but just found out the second thread🤭

I have my first Antenatal appointment on Monday and I was wondering what to expect?
will they do a scan as well?

Wise0wl · 15/12/2023 15:29

Thanks @MixedCouple & @Bali200 (lovely to see you on here and totally get why you’ve been lurking!)

The midwife was really nice and said if things looked good on my last scan then to just stay positive until my next one on Monday. Easier said than done, but she also said to remember that this is a new pregnancy so the chances of things being ok are good.

@Bali200 fingers crossed for your scan this weekend, I’ll be thinking of you!

@CB2805 I had mine this morning, they took my height and weight, asked lots of questions about my health and living situation and how I’m feeling, then blood tests and got my next set of appointments booked in. Hope it goes well 😊

MummyBear2519 · 15/12/2023 16:16

Checking in on the new thread.

I have my next scan on Wednesday, the anxiety of it all is really getting to me. Not sure if it’s because it’s twins that I have already seen are happy and growing a few weeks ago but fear something is going to go wrong is so high. Probably because it a high risk pregnancy but I desperately want to relax and enjoy

justanotherlaura · 15/12/2023 20:01

I gave in and got my maternity jeans down from the loft. Spent half the day feeling like I was being cut in two by my trousers lol

MrsHousePlant · 15/12/2023 20:16

I’ve felt awful all day today. Exhausted and nauseous. Eating isn’t making me feel better either. I’ve got a scan next week and I’m also feeling the anxiety of that!!

Surprisedbuthappy · 15/12/2023 20:42

@ExpectantEs Thank you! Trying not to worry about it. I also think I'm getting a small bump but could well be bloating. It's good that you're getting your scan in between Christmas and New Year. I won't have mine until I'm 13 weeks on 8th January. Feels like ages!

Irishmummy2024 · 15/12/2023 20:47

Hey Ladies, hope you are all well. Currently 8 weeks pregnant with my second. Little lady is 9 years old. I said for years I would never do it again but over the last year or so changed my mind. Based in Ireland and don’t have my scan until 22nd January 😭 my first pregnancy started off terrible with an suspected ectopic so ended up in hospital with loads of early scans until the pregnancy was confirmed this time I don’t know what to do with myself. Although so grateful that I am fine and don’t have the horrible pain this time it’s so hard to feel pregnant without seeing the baby on the scan. Also I was so sick on my first, couldn’t eat meat, always nauseous and getting sick this time I am just feeling nauseous. It’s going to be a long 5 weeks, just can’t wait to tell my little lady she is going to be a big sister 😊

hopingfor23 · 15/12/2023 21:42

Scan went well we had a strong heart beat and measuring 2 days ahead. No better feeling ❤️ Will try and relax a little now. Hope everyone is doing well x

Savvy21 · 15/12/2023 23:06

@bringmearainbow @hopingfor23 glad to hear your scans went well :-).
Just waiting for my next scan at 12 weeks. Have moved from feeling nauseous to feeling really hungry all the time but then I eat and feel sick. Also the 4.30 wake up is not fun - pregnancy hormones to blame and also scan anxiety. Just need everything to stay as is until Christmas! Then 12 week scan 1 week later - praying it will be good news this time.

Nocoffeenotalkie · 16/12/2023 11:17

Glad a new thread was started!
I had a scan for dates. Confirmed that I'm 8+5 and due date 22nd July at the moment. Seems like there are a few of us with same due date.
Was quite relieved to see everything was growing where it should be and a heartbeat. Back for 12 week Jan 12th.

Taking aspirin due to my age, greater than 10 year gap between my last pregnancy and this one and previous small baby.

missmoosh · 16/12/2023 11:44

Glad to hear everyone's scans went well!
Sickness is kicking my butt today! Haven't been able to keep anything down! Just went to get myself some ice lollies to help hydrate, and made it home with seconds to spare before puking again 😂😂

trebuvie · 16/12/2023 13:40

Lovely to hear about everyone's scans.

How's everyone going on the announcement front? Have you told anyone? Planning to share over Christmas?

Sunray33 · 16/12/2023 13:43

I have an early scan tomorrow. Will be 8 weeks.

All being well, we’ll share the news with very close family over Christmas.

missmoosh · 16/12/2023 14:18

@trebuvie we have another early scan on 23rd when I will be 8+4 all being well, we will announceme to immediate family at Christmas. Though we will wait to announce to friends/other family until after 12 week scan 😊
My mum already knows but only because she knew we were about to start Ivf, so she would have figured it out when we suddenly didn't start lol

Morningcoffeeaddict · 16/12/2023 14:24

@trebuvie - I have an early scan next week so I can tell immediate family over Christmas. My mum is staying with us to help with my son over the school holiday so I think I’d find hiding it for 2 weeks a bit too much like hard work! I may wait until 12 weeks to tell others though

chilliflakesmum · 16/12/2023 16:08

Hello all!
Week 11 tomorrow and this week I've started throwing up 😭 hasn't been my best week 🤣
On the plus side, I've got my 12 week scan next week on Wednesday and all goes well we can tell family Christmas Day 🙏 very happy to have the scan this side of Christmas.
Hope everyone else is ok?
Thanks for making a new thread!

wannabe123 · 16/12/2023 16:21

Checking in on the new thread.
I think I'm 11 weeks today (or 12 weeks if I go by last bleed). Feeling excited and nervous for my scan on Wednesday.

The past few days, I've been getting a really sore tummy. Not like period cramps, more like I need to go to the toilet. Anyone else having similar? I also have an ache on my side. Trying to not worry but it's where I have a cyst removed after my last pregnancy (wasn't on my ovary) and not sure if it's just coincidence (it occasionally swaps to the other side), it's stretching or is another cyst. There was no cyst when I was scanned following my MC so hoping it's not that!

Irishmummy2024 · 16/12/2023 17:27

@trebuvie haven’t told anyone but my Mum, going to wait until after my scan. Has the heartburn kicked in for anyone yet? I was taking meds for my stomach but came off them when I found out I was pregnancy and I am drinking the Gaviscon 😭

wannabe123 · 16/12/2023 20:54

@Irishmummy2024 I've started with heart burn too. Struggled with it last time but I'm sure it didn't kick in until the 3rd trimester!

MixedCouple · 16/12/2023 21:46

Evening ladies. Glad to hear everyones scans went well woohoo!

@missmoosh oh no poor you that sounds horrid. I hope it settles or your can get the meds.

Last 2 days I have had this horrod taste in my mouth. Not bloody but like rancid! It makes me gag so much. I been chewing gum but after the initial taste goes it comes back. And now Gum is making me nauseous.
All I want is bread and Cheese and Salami!!! That's it. That makes me happy and I enjoy it. Everything else tastes rank. 😢

@Irishmummy2024 I have told my parents, inlaws, BFFS and waiting for 12-20 week scan for every one else.
Last time I did a huge surprise postal gift for siblings and aunts/uncles. I got 2 texts in response. And every one else ignored the gifts. So not doing that again!!! Just going to tell them casually as and when/if I see them.

MixedCouple · 16/12/2023 21:48

@wannabe123 my heart burn started it 4 weeks. With DS at started it 8 weeks and stopped once DS was born!!!! Labour with Heart burn is no fun.
This time it comes and goes throughout the day. I find snacking on Almonds really helps.

BunBun221 · 16/12/2023 22:21

Hiya! New here!

This is my second- I have an 18 month old already.

It's weird this time around, I was diagnosed with MS earlier this year after I had my first ever 'attack' 7 months post partum. Symptoms are different too! First time around I couldn't stop sneezing in the first trimester and this time my hearing has gone a bit muffled! (Alongside sickness etc). I had HELLP the first time so feeling pretty anxious this time around.

Not sure what everyone's NHS services are like where you are but I only had my booking appointment last week (10+2) so I have no blooming idea when I'm supposed to be having my dating scan!

Anyway nice to read through the threads so far. The mumsnet threads were a great help the first time around so thought I'd pop by and say hi!

Xx

trebuvie · 17/12/2023 07:44

@BunBun221 welcome! Hope this next pregnancy goes well! This is my first time being pregnant but that does sound rather late to not have a scan date yet... Maybe chase them? I got both my booking appt and scan dates around 6wks (for 8wks and 12wks respectively).

We had an early scan a couple days ago and agreed to tell "closest friends and family" now over Christmas and others after the 12wk scan. Partner is interpreting this rather loosely in his excitement, but ah well, it's quite sweet :)

Wise0wl · 17/12/2023 09:02

Can I ask those of you who have had a previous loss if you’re telling family over Christmas? I’m 10 weeks and have another scan at EPU tomorrow but despite that feel so anxious about things going wrong that I feel nervous to tell anyone. But I also know it would absolutely make their Christmas to find out. 12 week scan isn’t until 13 weeks on 8th Jan.
