Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

@CB2805 I had a previous ectopic and called the EPU directly as soon as I found out I was pregnant and they arranged for an early scan at 6 weeks. When I saw my midwife when I was 8 weeks she couldn't have cared less about any of it. I was glad I'd spoken directly to the EPU for assurance x

wannabe123 · 21/12/2023 07:41

@Jess725 the nuchal test is done as part of your dating scan 😊 I think it can be done up to 14 weeks so fingers crossed you'd be ok! Definitely no harm in calling to see. I suppose how certain you feel about your dates too.

Jess725 · 21/12/2023 13:15

@wannabe123 thank you ☺️☺️

Busyhedgehog · 21/12/2023 13:25

I've spent the day wrapping presents and getting the Christmas food sorted. I miss brie and smoked salmon and I really fancy some sushi right now. I've also not found an acceptable substitute for mulled wine, yet. No salami (although I can live with that...generally) or pate (😕).
Our plan was to celebrate NYE in the hot tub outside in the garden (our neighbours don't mind and we aren't using it as a sex pond) but that's not going to happen now, either. We'll still have an amazing view across the town from there and DS is old enough to be incredibly excited about staying up and seeing fireworks. 😁

I so hope this little one will make it. I'm still feeling nauseous a lot of the time, although I assume that's due to the medication. My next appointment isn't until January and I really hope it'll still be bouncing about with a heartbeat by then.

chilliflakesmum · 21/12/2023 15:00

Hello all!
Had my 12 week scan yesterday and pleased to report that all is well! Officially 12 weeks today 🎉
Can't explain how relieved I am after a MMC at 12 weeks in March. Little bean was very wriggly.
Hope everyone else is ok?
My nausea is still here and I'm still throwing up 😭 but at least now I know there's a reason!

wannabe123 · 21/12/2023 15:38

@Busyhedgehog I too am missing brie and smoked salmon. Hoping to have a baked camembert at some point over the festive season though.

@chilliflakesmum congratulations! It's so nice to watch them jumping about 🥰

MummyBear2519 · 21/12/2023 15:49

Had my NHS scan yesterday and the twins are happy and growing which is a massive relief. They have confirmed that although they are identical they are in their own ‘pod’ so won’t get tangled but I’m still high risk.
We told my OH’s mum yesterday and I think just the shock of him having a baby was a lot for her let alone twins
Will be making the rounds in the next few days to tell family
Due date has moved from the 11th July to the 5th

Bali200 · 21/12/2023 15:56

So glad to hear your scans have gone well @chilliflakesmum and @MummyBear2519 🎊 x

chilliflakesmum · 21/12/2023 16:03

That's great news @MummyBear2519 ☺️ I'm due the day before you!
I bet it was a shock for her - so exciting telling people, even more so that its twins!

CMG92 · 21/12/2023 17:26

Hi everyone been following the thread but after 2 previous miscarriages in both my other pregnancies iv been a bit nervous to post!
went for an early scan today at 9weeks and heard a strong heartbeat and measuring bang on. The relief is enormous after bad news both times before.
good luck and congratulations to everyone else on your pregnancies. Xx

Morningcoffeeaddict · 21/12/2023 20:38

Great news about all the scans today @chilliflakesmum @MummyBear2519 and @CMG92

I went for a reassurance scan this evening - also measuring exactly 9weeks and good strong heart bit on the wriggly little bean. So lovely to see!

missmoosh · 21/12/2023 20:53

@Morningcoffeeaddict woo!
what did little bean look like at 9 weeks? Could you tell it is a baby rather than a blob? We have another scan Saturday at 8+4 based of last scan or 8+6 based of LMP. Wondering what to expect to see!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 21/12/2023 20:59

@missmoosh - still looked quite a lot like a kidney bean to be honest but we did get a flash of arm stub at one point when it was wriggling - had a scan at 10weeks last time and looked a lot more like a baby then.

I’ve seen some 9week examples where you can see a bit more but might depend on angle or if it’s a TV scan?

missmoosh · 21/12/2023 21:01

@Morningcoffeeaddict it will be TV so hoping it looks somewhat baby like haha. I'm still wildly nervous again the closer it gets! We will announce at Xmas assuming all is well!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 21/12/2023 21:10

Been called by the maternity team. There is something wrong with my urine sample. I couldn't get through so have to try again tomorrow. Bet I have to go back again. My bloods needed repeating too 😳

BananaHammock23 · 21/12/2023 21:52

@MummyBear2519 so exciting that you're having twins, and great news that the scan was all ok. We have the same due date 5th July! I have my 12 week scan tomo but it's an IVF pregnancy so dates are set!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 21/12/2023 22:28

@missmoosh ah hopefully it will be clearer then! Mine wasn’t so not the clearest picture - good enough to see the heart beating which was the main thing though!

@Nocoffeenotalkie hopefully you’ll get through to them more easily tomorrow and they can explain what they need. Voicemail ping pong is always so unhelpful!

Honeymint · 22/12/2023 05:25

If it helps at all, the NHS now advises that sushi is safe for pregnant women to eat in the UK as all raw sushi fish must be either pasteurised or subject to strict farming standards.
My midwife told me this during my last pregnancy and it’s a relief because I really craved alaska rolls last pregnancy.
https://www.madeformums.com/pregnancy/is-sushi-safe-to-eat-in-pregnancy/ (there’s more info here and on NHS inform!)

I still only get it from a good restaurant but it’s been a lifesaver for morning sickness.

Honeymint · 22/12/2023 05:29

Is anyone else struggling really badly with insomnia?
I woke up around 4am almost every day last pregnancy and this time it seems to be worse. I felt too sick to fall asleep until about 1am, then my daughter woke up at 2:30 and needed resettling. I’ve been trying to get back to sleep ever since but I just can’t.

My husband has covid so we’ve had to cancel our Christmas stay with my parents because they also see an elderly relative. I haven’t slept properly in weeks and I’m so fed up I could cry.

Is anybody else struggling with this or does anybody have any tips?

Savvy21 · 22/12/2023 06:40

@Honeymint no tips but I feel your pain. I keep waking up at 4 and have been finding it difficult to go back to sleep. If your husband is feeling better then maybe try and catch up on some sleep over the weekend?

BunBun221 · 22/12/2023 07:40

@Nocoffeenotalkie oh hun - did they give you any details on what they were concerned about?

Hope everything's okay and they're just erring on the side of caution.

Sending a massive hug xxx

Busyhedgehog · 22/12/2023 08:38

@Honeymint Thanks. I had some sushi last time but checked what it was and how it had been stored.
I'm not in the UK this time round, though, and advice here is different. Maternity provisions on the whole are different, so I'm still trying to get my head round all those things.

Busyhedgehog · 22/12/2023 08:39

I actually woke up to have a sandwich at 4am this morning. I can't remember being this hungry last time round.

ExpectantEs · 22/12/2023 10:06

@Honeymint Your sushi info has really made my day. I've been craving Sushi for weeks. Going to get some tonight

Morningcoffeeaddict · 22/12/2023 10:31

@Honeymint thanks for sharing on fish/sushi! Very reassuring!

Also suffering with the insomnia here - my worst thing about pregnancy as I’m normally a big sleeper so I get very grumpy about being up in the night (luckily my son is a brilliant sleep too - I was lucky there).

@Busyhedgehog - 4am snack time sounds very familiar! Tried to fight it but there was no way I was going back to sleep until I’d eaten something - no wonder my jeans won’t do up already!!
