Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

@CMRC17 my midwife could see the date when she called to book me in - maybe try her, or call the hospital you are referred to and ask them to check. With my first they gave all three scan dates at once but it seems like they will be drip feeding them this time 🤣

missmoosh · 19/12/2023 09:57

Well I am signed off work with hyperemesis gravidium until Christmas now. Had some leave from Christmas until new year anyway. So won't be back before new year now. Still not received anything for the actual sickness. Having done some research they won't until I have lost around 5% of my body weight or becomes dehydrated! So I am super focused on staying hydrated as that seems to be the key thing to worry about! Feel so drained of energy now and haven't left house for a few days now through fear of throwing up in public!
Sorry rant over lol feeling sorry for myself 😂

Mummytobe2023 · 19/12/2023 11:14

Just back from EPU from first scan due to previous loss. And it’s twins!!!! 😂😂

ExpectantEs · 19/12/2023 11:27

@MummyBear2519 Thank you! Glad I'm not the only one - let's try & take it easy

@Mummytobe2023 Twins! Congratulations so exciting

chilliflakesmum · 19/12/2023 11:35

Oh my goodness @Mummytobe2023 how exciting!!

missmoosh · 19/12/2023 11:53

@Mummytobe2023 oh wow! So many twins on this thread!! Congratulations!!

Yummum19 · 19/12/2023 12:12

Congratulations @Mummytobe2023 , that’s brilliant news!

I got a call yesterday saying I have my 12 week scan on the 27th Dec. I have to go to a different hospital to the one I’m delivering in as they said they are super busy & struggling to find everyone appointments. I’m nervous as this will be my first scan this pregnancy. I can’t wait to get some reassurance.

TWellsWellsy · 19/12/2023 12:12

Hey all! First timer here...just over 10 weeks and definitely starting to feel more real!
I've been feeling pretty good (a little bit of nausea), but this week I'm a bit low and lethargic.
OH and I haven't told family yet but with Christmas around the corner, I know it will be impossible to hide (they love a drink and have already been suspicious of my excuses)!
We've booked in for a scan tomorrow as my dating scan isn't until early Jan...but still feeling apprehensive about breaking the news. Not sure if the added 'pressure' is adding to my mood!

Anyone else felt this way? 💜

CMRC17 · 19/12/2023 12:23

Thanks for your messages! I rang them just now and they said the appointments are just crazy busy with it being Christmas, but I should definitely get a scan before 6th Jan so I’ll be expecting a text or phone call before then.
I agree, I would have expected a letter or something a bit ahead of time, but it sounds like I may only find out a few days before. I’m away 27th-30th December so was worried it would be scheduled for then, but sounds like it’ll definitely be January now.

@Mummytobe2023 congratulations!!!!

@TWellsWellsy I’ve also been a bit nervous about breaking the news, I had a 9 week scan a few weeks ago but my NHS scan won’t be until after Xmas. We’ve decided to tell family on Christmas Day and my OH is so excited to tell everyone, I’m sure he would tell the whole world if he could! Me on the other hand, I am feeling a bit nervous about it as it does add a lot of pressure to the whole experience. I’m sure I’ll be excited when the time comes though! And it will be nice not to have to make excuses not to drink anymore haha.

Jess725 · 19/12/2023 13:06

Yay! Glad I found the new thread ☺️
nice news on all the first scans guys ❤️
I got mine too but it’s for the new year and I’ll be 13+4 😖 I want to call to bring it sooner but also don’t want to complain 😆 what would you do?

Alwaystired2023 · 19/12/2023 13:10

@Jess725 nothing wrong with asking the question? They can only say yes or no x I mean I wouldn't ask because I'm the sort of person who would apologise for the inconvenience of making the sonographer do their job in the first place 🤣

Cattattack · 19/12/2023 13:34

12 week scan sorted! I called the ultrasound clinic at the hospital just checking the appointment and they said they haven't had a booking request for me yet.

So we booked one there and then, 2nd Jan so I'll be 12+1! I think it's worth calling and asking in case they have any sooner slots if you aren't happy with the length of time waiting, they were really lovely!

Irishmummy2024 · 19/12/2023 13:51

@Mummytobe2023 congratulations so exciting 😊😊

trebuvie · 19/12/2023 14:10

Good luck @Mummytobe2023 !

@missmoosh sorry to hear you're having such a rough time! At least you've been signed off from work though. Are you hoping it'll improve in Jan or will you be signed off then too?

missmoosh · 19/12/2023 14:27

@trebuvie thanks, I'm just gonna take it week by week! Work is really understanding and would rather me have one long block than lots of short periods. I get 6 months full pay, so at least I don't have to worry about that side of things! So yeah just take it as it comes! Managed some melon and a bit of bread today, with minimal puking 😂😂

@Alwaystired2023
😆 sounds like me! Thanks for replying, I think I am going to just ask the question. I bet a million people call in super eager!! I'm just worried because if I measure just two days later it will be difficult for them to do the screening tests I think?!?!
Pregnancy anxiety to the max today I think 😆

MrsHousePlant · 19/12/2023 17:02

I saw my baby for the first time at a private scan today. Just over 10 weeks but measuring more like 11. It was emotional! Only a couple of weeks until my NHS one now too. I think it feels so real now I’ve seen the little bean wiggling on the screen!

Alwaystired2023 · 19/12/2023 17:47

@Jess725 yes defo ask and let us know how you get on, pregnancy anxiety is just non stop totally relate !

Busyhedgehog · 19/12/2023 18:52

@Jess725 Which test are you hoping to do? Mine will be a blood test when I'm about 10 weeks. I think we can get the gender done as well but I'm not sure whether to ask for that or not.
Pregnancy anxiety is horrible. I'm constantly worried about every little pinch and then worried if there hasn't been anything for a bit. Going to the toilet still feels like Russian roulette each time...

Morningcoffeeaddict · 19/12/2023 20:34

@Mummytobe2023 congrats! How exciting! So many twins on this thread!

Midwife finally called today! Booking appointment on Christmas Eve of all times at the local birth centre (they normally come to the house here but she can’t fit that in) so glad to have it booked in finally starting to feel a bit more real!

BananaHammock23 · 19/12/2023 21:45

Hi everyone! So glad to have found this thread. I'm 11+4 today. It's my third IVF pregnancy - first one resulted in DS who's 2.5 and the second was sadly ectopic which resulted in surgery at 7 weeks.

I'm so, so anxious this time I feel like I'd have a scan every other day if I could afford it! We had a scan at 6 weeks at EPU and saw the heartbeat, then at our IVF clinic at 8 weeks. Had another private one at 9 because I had a bleed... and every time it's been ok. We have our 12 week scan on Friday at exactly 12 weeks so praying everything's ok and we can tell family and friends over Christmas.

wannabe123 · 20/12/2023 12:28

Just had my dating scan. I'm measuring 11 weeks 2 days and due on the 8th July. So nice to see a heartbeat and baby jumping around 😊

Morningcoffeeaddict · 20/12/2023 14:53

@wannabe123 congrats! Lovely news!

CB2805 · 20/12/2023 17:12

Hi ladies🫶🏻
Just a random question, I just had my first appointment with midwife and just looked at her notes online. She hasn’t put down any of my surgery/ medical history not even that pregnancy is twin and with a hematoma?!
So my question, do they send private notes to drs/consultant and they are not visible on the notes? Or should I get in touch with them about it?
my only worry is that all my appointments are super late, my first scan is at 13w+ and I won’t see my consultant till after 2weeks after that? But on the appointment midwife was saying that due to surgery history, twins and hematoma I should be seen sooner so nothing makes sense now

Jess725 · 20/12/2023 21:10

@Alwaystired2023 ☺️☺️☺️ I still haven’t called 😆😆

@Busyhedgehog I think I’m just thinking of the nuchal scan around the first scan time and worrying there are some more I’m supposed to arrange myself! I’m sure I’m just worrying, just wanted reassurance mainly and wanting to do the best I can do! Like many others my appointments are all coming in quite late so don’t want to miss the timeline. Hope that makes sense, very anxious this time around, not made it this far before. very grateful to vent on here with other mums to be! What’s your 10 week bloods for? I hope your anxieties ease a little too, sorry to hear about the Russian roulette, you’ve got this! Good luck!
