Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

Has everyone registered with the midwives yet? My trust says you can register from 4 weeks but a part of me feels like holding off a little while.. maybe because of my loss in October. Is it silly I'm scared to refer myself? 😅

I've tried to ring our midwifes office a ridiculous amount of times to sort my booking appointment but I've had no luck. I'm not gonna stress until about 6 weeks anyway I think.

EMJL · 06/12/2023 09:36

@fr4zzledmum oh that's annoying! It's funny how different each trust is! I'm in the south east and ours is just an online form to fill out and then they email you with your appointment. I did manage to do mine last night but waiting to hear back now.

Hope you're feeling okay xxx

fr4zzledmum · 06/12/2023 09:49

@EMJL well its strange as last time, I made the appointment through the GP surgery, but this time.he just gave me the number, so there must've been changes since my last time round 5 years ago!

I'm okay thank you - although I could quite happily take my nipples off and put them in the bin, they hurt so much!

earlytwentiesmama · 06/12/2023 10:13

I'm also scared to refer myself!! last time I didn't get round to it until 9 weeks as I just couldn't bring myself round to the idea after MC before that one!

But I'll definitely be more proactive this time as I remember everything was then rushed by the midwifery team.

Starting urging today at 4+2 😩 I had horrific morning sickness with my dd so am not totally surprised and it's given me a touch of reassurance but I'm still massively dealing with anxiety with cramping 🫣

Pregnancy after any loss is so hard and I'm with you ladies 🦋

warmbutteredtoast · 06/12/2023 11:44

Oh my word why are the days going so slowly!!! This week feels like it's lasted months!

EMJL · 06/12/2023 11:58

@fr4zzledmum oh bless you! I'm waiting for more symptoms if I'm honest. I just feel exhausted, and I'm getting the odd pulling feeling quite low down! Only 4+2 though so I'm sure I'll regret saying that in a couple of weeks 😂

@earlytwentiesmama totally get you with this. Pregnancy after loss is so, so tough and riddled with anxiety!! Always here if you need a chat, and I'll soon get that Facebook page up and running! Xxx

Isthisrealomgwow · 06/12/2023 11:59

I've got awful insomnia, waking at 1am not getting back to sleep until 4am.

Got first scan tomorrow, doubt we will see anything.

warmbutteredtoast · 06/12/2023 12:06

@Isthisrealomgwow Oh no insomnia is the worst. That's exciting you have a scan! How far along are you?

RollMeAway · 06/12/2023 12:26

Hello! Can I join too please?

4 weeks today and due around 14th August. I've known for almost a week as I ovulate early and had a suspicion. This is a happy surprise and I'm still coming to terms with the fact I'm actually pregnant but I'm delighted to be here with you all 😊I've got 7yo daughter so feel like this is brand new to me again!

Symptom wise I don't have loads... slightly tender boobs, occasional waves of nausea, thirstier and a bit tired but nothing major yet. From what I'm reading it's week 6 the fun really starts 😂

Sending lots of love to you all xx

RiverBear · 06/12/2023 12:36

Hello! I'm going to join in too if that's ok 😊
I found out yesterday - 3 BFPs so phoned the community midwife team straight away. I'm 5 weeks + 1 today so the midwife won't be in touch until week 7 to arrange the first appointment. Due date is 7th August and it's my 1st pregnancy so am so lost and worried!

I have no symptoms really other than my boobs being tender when i press on them (only on the outside though). Every other possible symptom feels like it's just in my head!

Finding it so difficult not to keep testing. The 3 tests I did yesterday were strong. One was a dye stealer! So a test with lighter lines would stress me out. The uncertainty is killing me 😔 it's going to be a long few weeks I think!

It will be really nice to chat to you all cos it feels so lonely doesn't it?

Bells3032 · 06/12/2023 12:39

can i have a very nervous join? Due August 6th (I think) though i would be induced by 24th July as I am diabetic.

This is my second baby (though i had a loss at 4 weeks last month). We had a bit of a nervous start as went for blood tests (long story) and numbers were a bit low but they suddenly shot up and all looking good now.

My previous one will be two in a couple of weeks! she was a 34 weeker and she's the ultimate in "big personality in a tiny package". Referred myself to the midwife team whove booked me in for my 10 week booking and 12 week scan but i am meant to get support earlier due to sugar levels (already surging) so currently fighting with the antenatal team! lol

SnookyPook · 06/12/2023 12:40

@RollMeAway @RiverBear welcome and congratulations! @RiverBear you're due the day after me and I'm very similar symptoms-wise so far. I've stopped testing now as it wasn't doing anything other than raising my anxiety! I got an indication of decent progression which was looking more hopeful than my last two attempts so I'm now stepping back until my scan on 21st. The first trimester does drag on... I'm just trying to celebrate each little milestone along the way!

MaryHua · 06/12/2023 12:41

Hi @RollMeAway and @RiverBear !!! Congratulations on your pregnancies. How exciting.

@RollMeAway I have the same due date as you!! (From me counting from my estimated conception date as I ovulated late so if I went by gestational age I'd be 5 weeks by now but I'm actually only 4)

@RiverBear this is also my first pregnancy and I'm feeling all the same things as you! Very nervous and anxious and barely allowing any room for excitement. Just want the next 8 weeks to fly by!!

I also don't have any symptoms yet, except tenderness when I press my nipples, but overall, other than feeling tired (which is nothing new to me) I feel ok.
My tests have been consistent but I'm dreading seeing a fading line. Honestly wish there was more we could do at this stage for reassurance but patience is the only thing I need. And I don't have it! 😅😅😅

SnookyPook · 06/12/2023 12:41

@Bells3032 welcome 😊 same due date here. Fingers crossed we all progress nicely this time 🥰

RollMeAway · 06/12/2023 12:53

Thank you for the warm welcome ladies. It's so nice to talk about it in here isn't it because it's literally all that's going through my head 24/7 at the moment.

@RiverBear exactly the same with the tenderness only on the oustide of my boobs at the moment.

@MaryHua love that we're due date buddies!! My daughter is a November baby (as am I!) and I love the idea of also having a summer birthday to celebrate with nice weather and bbqs! Jumping ahead a bit I know but it's what I do 😂

Another thing I've noticed, I think I've gone off of my morning cup of tea...

MaryHua · 06/12/2023 13:09

Oh I'm very much the same as you @RollMeAway - planning everything already right to what room I'll use as a nursery. Definitely a first time mummy! 😂😂

I've not got any food aversions yet, but I never normally have an appetite for dinner but the last couple of days I've been RAVENOUS.
I love my morning cuppa, so I'll be devastated if I don't enjoy it anymore. It's the only thing that gets me going at work 😄

Isitisit · 06/12/2023 13:19

@Bells3032

That doesn’t sound very good! I’m diabetic got a call the day after I self referred (at 4 weeks) and was booked in for a 6 week scan in the EPU and dietician is calling me Friday to check in! They definitely should be giving you more support!

Bells3032 · 06/12/2023 14:48

@Isitisit yeah a bit awful isn't it. Just spoke to my regular diabetes team and they said they may have just overlooked it and to chase to be added to the list. They said i can keep speaking to them in the meantime and they will help!

RiverBear · 06/12/2023 15:36

@SnookyPook it's awful isn't it, I feel bad cause a lot of people never get a BFP and I've been lucky enough to have 3 and all I'm doing is worrying!! The days are DRAGGINGGG!

@RollMeAway yay! Boob buddies 😅🤣

fr4zzledmum · 06/12/2023 15:47

@MaryHua omg, me too - I'm so starving at the minute at mealtimes but at the same time, don't have a massive want for snacks in-between meals.

MaryHua · 06/12/2023 15:53

@fr4zzledmum snap! 🤪 exactly the same!

EMJL · 06/12/2023 15:57

I'm finding it so hard not to tell anybody! I'm a childminder and I work with my Mum! Hoping to make it to Christmas without being sick in front of her to then surprise her at Christmas 😅

MaryHua · 06/12/2023 16:00

@EMJL I'm the same as you.
I want to share this news so badly with friends and family especially as it's my first. But I'm having to bite my tongue and waiting until Christmas as well to surprise them.

In the meantime thank God for mumsnet to relish in my pregnancy!
My husband was able to tell his counsellor yesterday as part of his session, and I am so jealous that he got to tell someone 😂😂😂

fr4zzledmum · 06/12/2023 16:15

Same here ladies! We told everyone at 8 weeks last time, but I don't want to tell DD too early now and also want her to be the first to know, so it'll be the end of January until we can mutter a word!

I'm dreading telling work tbh, as we've just had a member of our three man team go off for a long while after a bereavement, so not sure how well my announcement in the New Year will go!

Isitisit · 06/12/2023 16:18

@Bells3032 I’m glad you are getting support from someone at least!

I’m the opposite with telling people, I feel safer not saying it out loud so I’m hoping I can tell people when I feel more secure. It’s definitely going to be noticed that I’m not drinking though!
