Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@CurlyWurly1991 yes I’m exactly the same - notice it way more at rest and more as the day goes on.
i haven’t yet had the flu or covid vaccine but should as I’m working as a healthcare professional - but they’ve both made me feel rough before and can’t help but worry it will impact the pregnancy

warmbutteredtoast · 05/12/2023 19:53

@ChildrenOfTheQuorn How old is your little one? I imagine I will give up bf at some point in this pregnancy, not sure I'm that hardcore!

Sunny1986 · 05/12/2023 20:04

Seems like we've got quite a good mix of first time and 2+ time mummies here! Very tentatively excited for us all. My little boy has just turned two and I've already completely forgotten everything about the newborn phase and pregnancy!

Also having fairly consistent cramps and pulling, boobs sore today too!

Hi everyone.
Got my BFP on Friday 😍 but the anxiety has hit!
It would be good if anyone comes across any good non alcoholic drinks for the Christmas period and posts them on here please!
I've tried a red and white wine and they were pretty rough 😧
Had to turn the red into "mulled wine".
They're all just so sweet

Ugh couldn't agree more on the Jon alcoholic wines. Seedlip do a great non alcoholic gin. I think that will be my go to over Xmas as I am partial to a wine and my family will immediately ask me why I'm not drinking!

etaketak1991 · 05/12/2023 20:08

@123456789ss Sorry to say there is no nice non alcoholic wine or prosecco 😂 I must have tried a bunch when pregnant with DD, they're all terrible. Either really sweet or weirdly sour. Non alcoholic ciders are usually nice though!

21 months. I'm just not sure I have the heart to wean, and yet I can't bear the thought of tandem feeding. I'm hoping she'll self-wean and the decision is made for me...

MaryHua · 05/12/2023 20:10

@123456789ss I also love wine so Christmas this year will be particularly challenging.
I do find that the non-alcoholic beers are quite good though, and often they satisfy my craving. 🍺

ElizaGolightly · 05/12/2023 20:43

It's so nice that there are others around my date - I'm on my app as 5th August but my cycle was quite long so fully expecting the date to change. My LO has also just turned two like some of you!

@warmbutteredtoast I use the calculator too as I find it quite reassuring. It's also realistic which is helpful.

I feel so bloated at the moment which is my main symptom. Really finding the anxiety hard. Just wish we could blink and get to 12 weeks so I can settle into enjoying the pregnancy rather than feeling worried and unable to tell anyone. Only immediate family know (my mum, his mum and dad) but I told two work colleagues today as they noticed I looked peaky! Hope everyone is coping with the start of symptoms!

EMJL · 05/12/2023 20:48

Has everyone registered with the midwives yet? My trust says you can register from 4 weeks but a part of me feels like holding off a little while.. maybe because of my loss in October. Is it silly I'm scared to refer myself? 😅

warmbutteredtoast · 05/12/2023 12:41

This is probably not helpful to most if you so please ignore it, but there may be a few who find it comforting. It helped me to watch the percent chance of miscarriage decrease daily in my last pregnancy

datayze.com/miscarriage-chart?mode=table

I like this. I’m anxious about miscarriage due to my weight but this has helped, thank you!

Have others started telling people? I’m struggling to keep it to myself 😂

MaryHua · 05/12/2023 20:52

@EMJL this is my first pregnancy, so I rang them this morning just to get registered as I know that appointments are not as easy for me to get what with being home in Ireland for Christmas for an extended break.
So my first appointment with the midwife is on 10th January when I'll be 9 weeks.
A lot could happen before then so I'm trying not to dwell on the what ifs... but I'm a very anxious person so that's much easier said than done!

EMJL · 05/12/2023 20:54

@MaryHua well done for making that call! Does it all feel slightly more real now? When I registered with my first it was in lockdown so I can hardly remember what happened. My trust just have an online form to fill out but I feel silly doing it as I'm only 4+1!xx

SouthwestSis · 05/12/2023 20:54

Tesco do an (almost) non-alcoholic "gin" and tonic in a can, its <0.5% and tastes decent and I'd also very low calorie.
I've also had some period style cramping, I did register with midwives today as I had GD last pregnancy so likely to need more appointments and a glucose tolerance test again.
I'm feeling OK in myself atm but wondering how I will manage as pregnancy progresses as I have the world's most boisterous 22month old, I go to work for a break haha!

MaryHua · 05/12/2023 20:58

@EMJL it definitely feels a bit more real, but I think I'm still stunned overall. And I really want to rejoice and just go with the flow and be fully immersed but I'm guarding my heart at the same time.
Do you think you'll wait until 5 weeks?

EMJL · 05/12/2023 20:59

@MaryHua absolutely, it's such a nervous time the first trimester..

You've convinced me.. I'm filling out the form online now 😅💕 xx

MaryHua · 05/12/2023 21:00

Haha oh good luck @EMJL 🙈
Funny how every health board or city has different ways of doing it. Mine was just a phone call with minimal questions... 🤷🏻‍♀️

EMJL · 05/12/2023 21:01

@MaryHua everywhere is so different!! I'm on page 3 of questions and they just keep coming 😂😅

I have filled in the form on my trusts website, just waiting for a call back

Yes the beers aren't bad actually. But only so many I can have without feeling too full!
I'd only just stocked up on a salted caramel liquor and a baileys type from aldi that I'll probably have to just watch my husband consume!!!

Maybe I'll stick to the NA gins this time

With my first I just had llindt balls instead of wine 🐷

CharTT33 · 05/12/2023 21:31

I’m exactly the same. I’ve held of this time round because I’ve a 3 MCs so I’m super nervous, almost don’t want to be to presumptuous. I’m 5 weeks 1 day today. I’ve had a scan to ensure everything is in the right place. I’ll be back in two weeks today for another scan where I’ll be 7 weeks 1 day. I’ve just started baby aspirin and progesterone in the back passage today.. 🙃🙃

All this talk about alcohol makes me even more glad I don’t drink… I don’t envy you ladies 😂🤣😘😘

SunSparkle · 06/12/2023 06:05

I’ve got my booking in appointment for 2nd jan so will be 9 weeks I think. Last time I had it at 5.5 weeks and it seemed too early! I do wish when you’ve had a recent miscarriage though that they could just copy your notes over. Seems a waste of time to have to spend an hour each time writing up paper notes.

still no sickness (thankfully) but expecting it any day. Got my office Christmas party next week so hoping I get through that ok.

deliwoman1 · 06/12/2023 06:37

Wow so many new posts since I last checked in! Congratulations all! 🎉❤️

I’ve been busy but am having a challenge trying to fight anxiety due to
previous losses. The lack of symptoms doesn’t help even though I remember it being like this with my DD. Anything I am feeling is prob due to progesterone. 🫠 I’m 5+5 by lmp today but think it’s a bit earlier. I ovulate on day 15 and probably implanted a bit later as only had a shadow of a positive at 12dpo.

I have my booking in appointment on 22nd December. I will probably self-refer to EPAU a few days before for a scan because I’ve had an ectopic, so just want to be sure everything is in the right place before Christmas shuts everything down for a bit.

SnookyPook · 06/12/2023 09:27

Morning all... I'm a other whose not registered yet due to previous losses! But I think I might go for it today and just hope for the best. @SunSparkle it really is silly they can't just keep hold of your paper notes each time isn't it.

5+2 here and no major symptoms but I've never been one to have loads. I'm a bit hungrier and my boobs have felt a bit heavy. I've been a bit more tired (although hard to notice with toddler in tow). Nothing major. Although I think previously I felt more exhausted and nauseous from around wk6. I felt quite nauseous at times with my son but never actually threw up which is very lucky I guess but after my losses I now kind of want all the symptoms!! Which I'm sure I'll regret if I get my wish!! 😬

Agree with this. In my first pregnancy, I craved lager (even though I wasn't a lager drinker), and Becks Blue was soooo nice.
