Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@justlonelystars Yes I'm in the UK. The appointment at 8 weeks is with a midwife hut at my doctors surgery. It just seems like such a long time when it's the first time and you don't know what's what!

FluffyKitty007 · 18/12/2023 21:38

@Alim0 congratulations!

I called my GP (that’s what the NHS website advised) and they sent me a link to register with midwives. A few days later they sent me a reminder about prescription renewal times ahead of Christmas. that is for contraception so it doesn’t look they took a note 🤣

pontipinemum · 18/12/2023 22:16

@Alim0 I'm in Ireland, but was/ still am in a group with mostly UK ladies from my 1st and things are fairly similar. You don't get told a lot. It is a whirl wind of info/ nothing/ no explanation. Once I got to grips with a few things I used to keep a note pad at my desk and write down questions/ queries I had for the mw next time I saw her.

On vax's I will take both when I can. I was pregnant pretty much the exact same time schedule with DS in 2021 and took it then. I also got the covid boost and still ended up with covid at 20 weeks.

graceinc22 · 19/12/2023 02:36

Ughhh up in the night feeling sick and can’t sleep. With my first pregnancy i never really felt sick but this little one is making themselves known :)

CurlyWurly1991 · 19/12/2023 07:38

@graceinc22 me too. Up at 0345 for a good nearly 2 hours of feeling incredibly nauseous…. 🥱

Pearlandmoon · 19/12/2023 08:13

@DisneyLady1 thanks for your reply!! I think my first appointment incorporates both the 12 week scan and the initial booking appointment going from the letter I got! I'm with Northern Trust so maybe they do things a little differently! It seems like ages to wait though. I'm going for a private reassurance scan next week when I'll be 8+5 so hopefully that gives me a little peace of mind in the meantime!

DisneyLady1 · 19/12/2023 08:22

Ah hope the scan goes well @Pearlandmoon ! I'm with the South Eastern trust, so perhaps it is different. I'll be 8-9 weeks next week too. Feeling grateful to have got this far. I'm from England originally, but I found the care here to be fantastic and the staff were always so lovely at the hospital. I hope you find the same.

Isitisit · 19/12/2023 08:27

Morning everyone!

Im sitting on the train to work and my bra feels like a torture device today! Trying not to be that train weirdo fondling themselves 😆

123456789ss · 19/12/2023 08:46

Got an appointment at EPU today as have had some bleeding for the last week (after sex, so hoping it's just normal).

Feeling sick with anxiety 😫

I'm only just 6 weeks (probably earlier as ovulate a little later) so worried they won't even be able to see anything that might reassure me

Anyone got experience of early scans?
X

AgeGapBbe · 19/12/2023 09:14

Me! Due the 26th. I got my first ever positive pregnancy test yesterday after nearly 2 years of being off of contraception and with our IVF appointment booked for next Friday! I can’t believe it. Trying not to get my hopes up… 😬

I had little cramps yesterday but I’ve got no other symptoms. AF was late (though it fluctuates anyway) though I hadn’t seen the point in testing before because we only had one go at it this month and I didn’t notice anything symptom wise! I’ve been ill since Friday- high temp, cough and cold too. I’m 4 weeks and 1 day along apparently!

TigerJoy · 18/12/2023 19:31

Anyone else getting cramping?

It's so weird, it's a very familiar period pain feeling, right in the uterus and starting to get into the lower back.

It made me so happy, clearly a sign the little bean is still in there and burrowing down!

Can I just say, thank you so much for sharing this because I absolutely hadn't viewed the cramping sensation this way (it was making me irrationally panic about heading towards an ectopic) and you've helped me really reframe it in my head.
This is such a reassuring thread I'm so glad I found it. I have very similar symptoms to everyone else which makes me feel very normal.
I'm considering cooking some frozen prawn toast party food for breakfast, so I'm definitely pregnant 😂
I ovulated late (day 21/22) so my app reckons I'm 5+3 but I'm considering myself more likely 4+3!
Congratulations mamas 🥳

yep basically the same with me @Alim0 never got any advice til my 10 week booking with my first. i didn't even know i was meant to take higher dose folic acid for my BMI until i was about 8 weeks and someone on MN told me!! i do find it a bit weird we get no advice at the time when the baby is growing some of the most important parts of it.

Even this time. diabetic and my team won't see me til 10 weeks. just told me to stay under my regular team til then

pontipinemum · 19/12/2023 10:35

@123456789ss I hope it goes well. Yes with DS I went for lots of early scans. At that point you want to see the gestational sac + yolk. Don't be alarmed if they don't see the heartbeat. I hope it all goes well x

Bells3032 · 19/12/2023 10:35

Anyone else's hormones all over the place. yesterday i wanted to cry all day. today started badly but still feeling happy. yesterday was starving, today i feel sick!

CharTT33 · 19/12/2023 11:14

Hey guys,

I've had my 7 week 1 day scan and we have a healthy heartbeat! Everything measuring perfectly! I’ve had 3 MCs consecutive never got this far yet ! I am sooo happy!! I burst into tears in room while scanning… 🥰

Sending everyone hugs! Xx

Thank you all for your lovely messages! Honestly as you all know I’ve been a nervous wreck! I’ve got slight cramping now but not sure if that’s just because I was so nervous overall etc but I’m grateful to have come this far… ❤️❤️❤️❤️

wishing every one good luck for their scans… ❤️❤️❤️
keep us updated… xxx

Welshgal85 · 19/12/2023 11:58

Aww so happy for you @CharTT33 what a lovely early Christmas present 🥰

GeographyTeacher · 19/12/2023 11:59

@CharTT33 Big congratulations on your lovely scan photo, what a feeling 😊

pontipinemum · 19/12/2023 12:02

@Bells3032 how much extra folic acid are you taking? My BMI pre-pregnancy was 28 so overweight. I kid you not I have gained about half a stone so far as well. And yes my emotions are haywire. I am mostly a moody cow though but thankfully managing to not eat the head off my husband since he has done nothing wrong!

@CharTT33 Awww wow I am so pleased for you 😍
