Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@EMJL haha I genuinely love a savory pastry, so I'm gutted. I remember in the throws of morning sickness with my DD, absolutely sobbing because I was sick of feeling rubbish and I just wanted to enjoy a pie from the local bakery. DD was just like... 👀

I'm good - I'm nervous for how rough I'll feel at Christmas haha!

How you getting on otherwise?

EMJL · 14/12/2023 12:52

@fr4zzledmum I can absolutely imagine the trauma of going off a pastry 😂 with my son my main aversions were eggs, particularly scrambled!

I'm with you on the feeling rubbish over Christmas... I'm so looking forward to my Christmas dinner.. hope I can eat it 😂😂

Not feeling too bad on the whole thank you! Got my midwife app and 12 weeks scan dates through so it's just a waiting game until then xx

Holrebbea · 14/12/2023 13:01

Hi all, looking for a bit of advice I guess. I recently came off of the pill so unsure of my cycle length. I thought I was due on my period the 30th Nov (if a 28 day cycle), did a pregnancy test 2 days later on the 2nd Dec and on the ultra early test I got a faint positive, but clear blue digital said negative. 2 days later did another test and the line was much stronger. I thought I was 6 weeks today based on a 28 day cycle, but does the fact my first test I did 2 days after my period was due was negative mean I'm not as far gone as I think? I'm also getting 2-3 weeks on clear blue digital..

SnookyPook · 14/12/2023 13:05

@Holrebbea it's not an exact science in the early days. So hard to pinpoint exact ovulation, implantation etc. Your EDD will likely change when you have your scan, but they will count you from LMP date until they know better. Main thing is, it's all sounding good 😊

Strawb66 · 14/12/2023 13:49

Hi everyone hope it's ok if I join! Currently 6 weeks pregnant with baby no2. I had a MMC at 12 weeks in 2021 which ended in surgical management, I was very lucky to fall pregnant again quickly after and had my little girl at the end of last year.

I can't help but compare this pregnancy to my previous two and it's making me so anxious! When I was pregnant with DD I had severe sickness from 6 weeks pretty much right up until birth, and with my MC I had zero symptoms and found out there was no heartbeat at 12 week scan. Atm I have no symptoms, and it's really stressing me out considering by this time last pregnancy I was already being sick daily! I know they say every pregnancy is different and it's still early days, but it hard not to worry. Does anyone have any experience of having totally different pregnancies symptom-wise and everything being ok??

Wishing everyone happy and healthy pregnancies!

RiverBear · 14/12/2023 14:06

@EMJL @fr4zzledmum I can't stand the thought of hot chestnuts for some reason?? It's unfortunate that it's christmas time cos when I hear the christmas song that starts with "chestnuts roasting on an open fire", it makes me feel queasy 🤣

RiverBear · 14/12/2023 14:08

@fr4zzledmum Oh good! Mine hurt a lot at night but they calm down by morning and the rest of the day. Very strange!

Bells3032 · 14/12/2023 14:16

I just want to eat. So tired and feeling a bit low. weather is crap and i am stuck at home all day. i can't binge though as diabetic and can't risk my sugars getting under control but i just want to eat and eat

EMJL · 14/12/2023 14:57

@RiverBear chestnuts? 😂 how random and seasonal!! Hopefully not too difficult to avoid!!xx

CurlyWurly1991 · 14/12/2023 15:29

@Strawb66 i understand , also waiting (and hoping?!?) for proper sickness to kick in as it was relentless with my dd. Any chance of you going for an early reassurance scan?

SV12 · 14/12/2023 15:41

Took my second digital today a week after the first and it has gone up in weeks so I'm feeling a little reassured today 😊

Sounds like alot of people are having scans soon, I look forward to hearing about them all!

@Bells3032 sorry to hear you're feeling low. I hope tomorrow is a better one.

Strawb66 · 14/12/2023 15:53

@CurlyWurly1991 it sounds ridiculous doesn't it, hoping for sickness! Grin but a bit of nausea would make me feel like I could relax a little bit haha. I wasn't going to have an early scan this time round but I think I'm going to have to, especially if the sickness doesn't appear, I'll drive myself mad with worry before 12 weeks otherwise! Do you think you'll have one?

ceruleansky · 14/12/2023 16:21

Hi guys, is anyone still experiencing cramps after 8 weeks?

I've had some extra pain today.

NelliePig · 14/12/2023 16:26

Ahh congrats! It's horrible having something that means your higher risk isn't it? I was consultant led with my daughter too and had additional monitoring with her, it's nice to have all the extra scans! X

NelliePig · 14/12/2023 16:26

@ElizaGolightly sorry, forgot to @

NelliePig · 14/12/2023 16:31

@Olivia2019 twins don't run in my family, but I've wondered if it's twins as my Positive was a week before period was due 😂😂

CurlyWurly1991 · 14/12/2023 16:39

@Strawb66 same here, was trying to hold off as long as possible for an early scan. Timing wise I understand it’s best to do after 7 weeks which would fall around Christmas for me. It looks like I can book in with a local place on the 30th and there are plenty of slots available. They want a £30 ‘deposit’ for the £45 scan so I might wait until nearer the time to book it but will probably need some reassurance by that point (assuming all is still well, of course) 🤞
have you looked into any early scan options?

ThelastRolo20 · 14/12/2023 16:40

@Strawb66 I've never experienced the nausea (I'm lucky I know!) So you may be the same 😊 I'm also debating an early scan but haven't decided yet

ElizaGolightly · 14/12/2023 17:05

@NelliePig the extra scans were a definite perk but I' worrying a bit as last time I was safely medicated and this time I got accidentally pregnant on a medication that is 'unknown for risk factors' in pregnancy. The US have been tracking people with exposure (all okay there) and I only took one on conception day near enough but still worried. Also now unmedicated and praying that the pregnancy hormones will suppress it like last time. Bit of a gamble though. Hopefully I'll know more at the booking appointment. Have you had yours come through?

NelliePig · 14/12/2023 19:14

@ElizaGolightly unfortunately my RA is so severe I'm on a not proven safe in pregnancy medicine the whole way through (well first 6 months) 😬 but I'm sure it'll be fine. No booking in yet, I'm only 3 weeks and 4 days (going from last period) but I've got bloods Monday, then I should have an early scan then see the midwife around 8 weeks for booking in she said!
I'd love to go into remission while pregnant I might be able to get off steroids 🙈 x

dg3131 · 14/12/2023 19:20

Hi everyone, just had an early scan and measuring exactly 7 weeks so due 1st august. They heart beat was super strong was amazing to see and little bean is measuring at 0.9cm. how crazy! Good luck to everyone else waiting on their scans.

GeographyTeacher · 14/12/2023 19:28

@dg3131 Thats lovely to hear!

I have mine tomorrow when I’m either 6+6 or 7 as well. My last scan I measured 12 days behind and lost baby soon after so my anxiety is quite high right now.

dg3131 · 14/12/2023 19:31

@GeographyTeacher ahh good luck, got everything crossed for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼

SnookyPook · 14/12/2023 21:08

@dg3131 congratulations, that's lovely news!

@GeographyTeacher good lock for tomorrow lovely! Hope you manage some sleep tonight 💕

Strawb66 · 14/12/2023 21:44

@ThelastRolo20 I really hope so! Grin

@CurlyWurly1991 yes I went for an early scan at 8 weeks when I was pregnant with my DD, I think I'm going to do the same this time which is just after Christmas for me! Yes same here I'm going to wait until a bit later to book it. Although I've just been looking at the website of the place I went to last time, early scans are now all £90!! I'm sure I didn't pay anywhere near that much last time Confused I guess it'll be worth it though to put my mind at rest!
