Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@toomanysausages congratulations!

im super thirsty too. I often feel hungry but can’t eat much, normally I would continue eating 🤣

FluffyKitty007 · 12/12/2023 19:41

Anyone else started on kegels? It’s so hard to know if I do it right !

also I’m going to cycle to the office tomorrow, my first interaction with humans face to face since I found out because I’ve been down with a cold or something. The plan is to go for a body pump class tomorrow. So weird that the fitness instructor will be one of the first to know 🤣

I plan a scan at the end of the next week, just before Christmas so that we can see the heartbeat and tell family at Christmas. It will be week 6, half way through to 12 💪

YYY-85 · 12/12/2023 19:41

Hi can I join, just got my bfp (4 weeks 2 days) due 21st august and first one since I had a mc in 2021. My DC in 5 so hopefully this will stick as she is always asking when she'll be a big sister.

CurlyWurly1991 · 12/12/2023 20:07

@FluffyKitty007 yes I’m trying with the pelvic floor exercises! The Squeezy app is really good…

SnookyPook · 12/12/2023 20:39

@YYY-85 welcome and sorry to hear of your previous loss - there are quite a few of us on the thread who have unfortunately been through that so very much understand the mix of emotions!

@Maybepossibly22 7 weeks is a danger point for me too. My last loss was bang on 7 weeks and my MMC earlier in the year stopped developing at 7+5 so next week will be a bit of an anxious one for me. Have got a scan with EPU at 7+3 but even if it's good news I'll be a bit on tenterhooks I think. Will just have to take it all a day at a time and hope for best!

@CurlyWurly1991 I'm very similar! Also pro-vaccine and have had all my previous ones but just a bit iffy about getting booster now. Hubby is actually a GP and not asked his thoughts yet 😂

Krb92 · 12/12/2023 21:28

Hey all! 👋 After a round of IVF, I'm pregnant for the first time, which is very exciting, but I also feel I am overthinking every symptom and assuming the worst 🙈 I'm around 5 weeks pregnant now, due date in August 2024. Is it typical to experience period like cramps? I've had them on and off yesterday and today. They got particularly worse after I was walking around the shops trying to do some Xmas shopping. Anyway, any advice from experienced mums would be much appreciated! 😊

CharTT33 · 12/12/2023 22:05

@Maybepossibly22 we are exactly the same 6 weeks 1 day.. 🤞🏽😀😀

Bugs22mk · 12/12/2023 22:09

@Krb92 i am by no means an experienced mum as this is my first pregnancy but can also say I have been experiencing period like cramps which can get quite sharp at times. From discussion with others it seems quite common!

Krb92 · 12/12/2023 22:11

Thank you! Good to know we're in the same boat 🙈 First time pregnancy is scary, right!

SnookyPook · 12/12/2023 22:17

@Krb92 hey! Congratulations on your BFP! That's a great result from first round of IVF! And yes, period like cramps are very normal! 😊

Dear lord, I just got to the end of one of the most cheesy Christmas films I've ever seen (B&B Merry on Netflix if anyone is curious and also a fan of ridiculously cheesy Christmas films 😂) - I cried.... Like proper cried happy tears for several minutes. Think the pregnancy hormones have settled in. 😂 Even as I was crying I was thinking 'this is ridiculous!'.

hotpotato64 · 12/12/2023 22:40

Can I join please? I’m currently 5+2 (due date 11 August) with baby number 2. My DD is approaching two and to be honest it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since my first pregnancy and I’m already starting to panic about how I’ll cope with two 🙈 I just keep telling myself it can’t be as much as an adjustment going from 0-1 was!

Hope everyone is feeling ok at the moment. I’m just very tired all the time and getting the pains/cramps others have mentioned

Period like cramps are normal and a good sigh. It's your uterus stretching so it can accommodate the baby.

Also symptom spotting to. Have had a bit of nausea and dizziness. Hard to compare with my daughter as I didn't feel anything til about 6 weeks and didn't realise I was pregnant til 6+2ish. So symptoms may ramp up.

My sugar levels are back under control though with a massive increase in insulin. Hoping that's the insulin kicking in and not cos something's wrong.

Have my first scan on Saturday at 6+3. I wouldn't usually go so early but am going on a cruise over Christmas and really anxious about it being ectopic or something like that. So wanted to check before I go. Anyone else getting an earlier scan.

Isitisit · 12/12/2023 23:02

@Bells3032 I’ve had to increase my insulin by 10% for the last couple weeks. Diabetic nurse said insulin needs usually drop in pregnancy but not the case for me atm. I am also on lubion though so it might be the progesterone causing the resistance.

Bells3032 · 12/12/2023 23:11

@Isitisit I've had to increase my slow release by 50% and introduced a small amount of novarapid at breakfast (though I think I always needed this I just stuck to completely zero carbs at breakfast). I got told that too but according to diabetes forum it generally increases between 4-6 weeks due to the surging hormones and then drops again about 6 weeks til about 16 weeks when it starts increasing again.

Also on progesterone here but cyclogest only. Couldn't cope with any further injections lol

Hi everyone!! So excited to join this group!! I just got my BFP today. Still super early so I'm trying not to let myself get toooo excited just yet. But it's so hard Grin according to dates, my EDD is 24th August. This is DC2 for us. Will be just under 2 year age gap!

ceruleansky · 13/12/2023 05:34

I just got my due date confirmed. It's July 30th so good luck everyone!

Becsim · 13/12/2023 05:59

Hi everyone. I just got my bfp with number 4. Big shock. Excited but terrified. Husband is very happy and our children have been nagging for a baby sibling but we were adamant it was a no until yesterday! Bit nervous to tell work or family as there may be judgement around having 4 children but we work hard and can afford it. Estimated due date 24th August. Fingers crossed baby sticks.
Congratulations everyone.

Maybepossibly22 · 13/12/2023 06:26

@CharTT33 hi due date buddy!

brbttc · 13/12/2023 07:30

@Becsim congratulations!! We're due date buddies!!! 🤗🤗 4 DC is amazing! I've always said I'd love 4, but we'll probably stop at 3 (currently pregnant with no.2).

@Bells3032 I'm going on a cruise Friday and have the exact same concerns but haven't had time for a scan. I'm also a bit worried about the extreme fatigue and morning sickness but plan on taking it very easy. Hope you have a lovely holiday!

SunSparkle · 13/12/2023 07:53

my nausea is starting despite medication which is making me a bit worried that it will turn into HG again.

feeling a bit sorry for myself today and counting down the working days. It’s a really busy time of year in December and jan so not much of a break

This Friday or next Friday?? Which cruise line?

Pllystyrene · 13/12/2023 07:59

@Bells3032 this Friday with MSC, going around the Christmas Markets. Luckily I didn't buy the drinks package 😂 When are you going?

Next Friday around the med. Also MSc. Bit nervous as never done MSc before and had not amazing things but it was a last minute trip after our planned Christmas holiday got cancelled (middle east). I've cruised lots before just not with MSc. Have heard they are amazing with kids though and will have my dad, my sister, bil and niblings with us as well as my husband and daughter. I heard they're really great with kids
