Hi all! I'm 4 weeks exactly today, due date is 4th August ☺️ This will (hopefully) be DC2!

How is everyone feeling? I've got sore boobs, mild cramps and waves of nausea that I didn't get until week 6 with my DD so I guess it's starting early, lucky me 🥳

@SV12 congratulations! I could have swore last night I was feeling sort of 'bubble/rolls' in my tummy. With the needles I think you'll just have to look the other way and I sometimes find if you dig your nails into your hand you can distract yourself.

Feeing fairly nauseous the last few days but I haven't actually been sick. Also so so so tired

AH2023 · 12/12/2023 11:58

Hello @SV12 !

I am the same as you - tested positive on 7/12/23 and am 4w3d today. Due 17th August 2024. The days seem to be dragging by...

Im equally anxious, have been taking a test every day as I just don't believe it. I have tender breasts and some cramping, though this seems to have eased off over the past 48 hours.

SV12 · 12/12/2023 12:04

@pontipinemum

Aww thank you. I didn't realise how it would feel to say out loud (or on here) I was pregnant. We aren't telling anyone minus one person each (I chose my sister as she's also a midwife 😅) until much later so it's nice to do it here and know it's a protected space.
Have you told anyone yet?

Ah with the needles I'll just manage my panic and as long as they are good and quick hopefully I'll be able to.

Ooh no feeling nauseous is the worst, the threat of sickness! Have you had any other symptoms?

Minus the cramps in my lower stomach, sore breasts and apparently a new talent for yawning and napping, I'm not feeling anything else yet.

SV12 · 12/12/2023 12:10

@AH2023

We are due date buddies!

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling anxious to, I agree the days are dragging!
Totally get the testing, I took 4 tests in 2 days and now I'm withholding until Saturday and I'll take my last week's one to see if the weeks have gone up, then no more 😅

is this your first?

AH2023 · 12/12/2023 12:15

@SV12
I have taken the CB digital with dating and both times have said 1-2 weeks so I am holding off doing another until at least the weekend. I have taken a few HCG strip tests just to see the line darken, as my first few were so faint because I found out so early.

Yes our first, and our first ever 'not avoiding' as we were planning to really start trying in January! I just knew something was going on in my body on the lead up to when I thought I was getting my period as I had so much cramping, tested and boom! Im glad it happened this way though.

Over the moon and equally terrified! 😅

pontipinemum · 12/12/2023 12:16

@SV12 I'm been a bit moody too. Which isn't really like me. Thankfully I haven't snapped the head off DH just yet. It's like I can see my moodyness has absolutely no cause so I can stop myself at least!

I did a weeks test yesterday. I was hoping it would say 2-3 weeks but is said 1-2 weeks. I did a cheap strip a few mins ago and it's lovely and dark

I've told my aunt, she is only 3 years older than me and more like a sister. I will hopefully get a scan around the 27th Dec and will tell parents then.

I think I am about 15 DPO, my period was way off because my last cycle was an early MC.

Probably not something you'd be interested in but I got bloods done yesterday and will get them done again tomorrow which will hopefully give me a good idea if this one will stay.

Due August 2024!
SV12 · 12/12/2023 12:47

@AH2023

Aww congratulations! It's so lovely to hear it just happened for you.
Keep me posted on how the tests progress!

I shall join you on the over the moon but equally terrified 😂
Feel like if I look at the whole 9months ahead in one big go I'll freak myself out so going a day at a time.
I'm also so cautious I feel like until I'm past that 12 week scan a part of me will be holding my breath.

@pontipinemum

I love how you said you haven't bit their head off just yet, like it's a possible impending thing 😂Fingers crossed for a sticky one for you.
It's nice to see a dark line!
Sounds like you went to EPAU for bloods?
Have they been good?

NelliePig · 12/12/2023 13:52

Eurgh, my vagina feels achy and that's the only way I can describe it. I didn't even know I was pregnant this early (3weeks and 3 days today) with my DD so pretty sure I didn't have achy bits.

Anyone else feeling twinges and aches yet? Trying not to think the worst, but pregnancy tests still darkening each day so hopefully that's a good sign!

NelliePig · 12/12/2023 13:53

Oh didn't attach photo 😂

Due August 2024!
fr4zzledmum · 12/12/2023 14:52

@SV12 funnily enough I was so needle phobic prior to my first pregnancy, but I honestly think it cured me (purely because I didn't have much choice and felt like a pin cushion with various blood tests, anti d injection, GF tests etc.)

Sorry this made me chuckle as I remembered the (aptly named by Mumsnet) 'fanny daggers' you get in late pregnancy.

fr4zzledmum · 12/12/2023 14:56

Anyone with other DC dreading the sleepless nights because their DC are already poor sleepers?

DD is 5 in January and for the last six months, her sleep has been SHOCKING. Up from 2am, ending with me in her bed most nights.

Not sure if she's going to break me or DH first Grin

Holrebbea · 12/12/2023 15:06

Hi all, according to the date of my last period I am currently 5+5 weeks pregnant, however I stupidly did a clear blue digital this morning (having had 2 previous losses, I'm a nervous wreck) - I did the tests looking for reassurance due to lack of symptoms, but it came back 2-3 weeks. As I'm 5+5 I was really expecting to see +3 today..

AH2023 · 12/12/2023 15:32

@Holrebbea I have read that these tests are not super accurate with the dates. I am 4+3 and still getting 1-2. My strip tests are getting darker so I am using them and saving the digitals with dates to take once a week.

Zelda18 · 12/12/2023 15:46

Hi everyone. I joined the thread when I was 4+4, now 6+1. I phoned the midwives yesterday as my GP has advised, and was told that I would have a phone call appointment in the next 7-14 days, booking appointment when I am 10-12 weeks and first scan at 12-14 weeks.
It feels so far away! Would anyone recommend a going for a private scan? I could book one for the end of the month when I am 8-9 weeks but not sure there's really any benefit in it..

pontipinemum · 12/12/2023 16:01

@SV12 It is possible at any moment 😂I went to the GP. I'm in Ireland, but over here that's not usual either. I just won the GP lotto. I MC'd last month and she suggested I get bloods done in the doctors instead of the EPU. My EPU don't give appointments. You just turn up and wait. It usually takes 2/3 hours! Plus a 45min drive there. I've had 4 MCs over the years and honestly they can be hit and miss in there but mostly good.

@fr4zzledmum yes! Although DS (16 months) sleeps pretty well it has been a struggle getting him to sleep the last week or so.

@Holrebbea I did one last night as well, going by LMP I am 4+6 but by ovulation I'm 4+1 so I was really expecting to see 2-3 weeks but saw 1-2 weeks. I bought another one earlier and got the same. But the cheap test was the darkest I have seen so far. I have one more digital but I am not using it for a few days. I think you only need to be concerned if it goes down in weeks. Even then it says to wait a few days and re-test as the urine might have not been concentrated enough

NelliePig · 12/12/2023 16:15

Ahhh lightening crotch. I remember it fondly 😅😅

SV12 · 12/12/2023 16:19

@fr4zzledmum this gives me some hope, thank you. Hopefully I'll join you in the getting over it stage!
I hope neither family member break you any time soon but do keep us updated😂

@HolrebbeaI work at a pregnancy advisory place and work with many midwifes who I hear reassure women all the time to take those tests with a pinch of salt, they don't date you where you think you are. I am 4+3 and it is showing as 1-2 weeks, and believe this is totally normal and very much similar to yours in mis match weeks. It's horrible to feel anxious though, I hope you are doing ok.

@pontipinemum I'm sorry to hear about your previous MC's I can only imagine what that could feel like when you see those lines come up again. I hope your bloods tomorrow go well. You really did win the GP lotto!

@NelliePig No twinges, just lower stomach cramps that can feel so strong! How are yours feeling?

CurlyWurly1991 · 12/12/2023 16:48

Hi everyone, sounds like we are feeling similar with the variable cramps, exhaustion, nausea, and on/off hunger.
Im a little over 5 weeks now and woke in the night feeling soooo awful, took me ages to go back to sleep. My dreams are insane!! I remember this from my first pregnancy.
i had my flu jab last week which was fine and was due to have covid-19 today and was there at the pharmacy. I read through the information and it freaked me out so I declined in the end. I’m really hoping I don’t regret that. As far as I can tell covid-19 boosters are only being offered Sep-Dec so no option to do one later when we are out of the first trimester. Does anyone know?
I think I just worried reading that it hasn’t been robustly tested in pregnancy of course as it is a new vaccine etc. I’m usually very pro it all but maybe also cos I’m feeling pretty rough anyway I just felt a bit wary of it.

SV12 · 12/12/2023 17:09

@CurlyWurly1991 I do believe they are only giving it out alongside the flu but I could be wrong.
I think everyone's opinions are so personal on it, best advise and answers on it will be with the royal college of obstetricians and gynaecologists. COVID-19 vaccines, pregnancy and breastfeeding FAQs | RCOG
The link has a section on if it safe for pregnant women and babies and although when they say it is not widely tested they mean in a test environment. But it does go on to reassure that at least 73% of the women who gave birth have had COVID vaccines now and both mum and baby are ok. But it is such a personal decision and totally ok to feel wary of it can only do what you what feel is right!

CurlyWurly1991 · 12/12/2023 17:13

@SV12 Yes I did read quite a bit and it was all reassuring that covid 19 vaccine is completely safe for pregnant women. It was just the sheet I was given about the specific vaccine - new pfizer one for the omicron variant, and it detailed how no ill affects had been observed in the second and third trimesters. I did have long covid (first wave) and would do anything to avoid that again. I just feel very conflicted, I’ve had all my covid jabs/boosters etc. I am definitely pro vaccine I just probably read too much into the small print…

SV12 · 12/12/2023 17:17

@CurlyWurly1991 Long covid was horrible too though, so natural you'd want to avoid it! Maybe they'll be able to give it to you in the second trimester if that is what you would prefer, can always ask!
Gotta love the small print...😂

Maybepossibly22 · 12/12/2023 17:29

You’ve just reminded me I need to book in for my flu jab! On another note, I’ve told work already because I have a great relationship with my manager, however she got me to fill in my maternity paperwork today! I feel like it is so premature doing it now, but at least it’s done. 6+1 today, feeling nervous as I’m getting towards 7 weeks as that’s when baby stopped growing in my last pregnancy but I’m feeling so much more pregnant this time. Only time will tell 🤞

NelliePig · 12/12/2023 17:42

Not cramps as such, bit twingey? And my bits just feel achey if that makes sense.. 😅

Re covid jab, had it when bf my first, had loads more since due to having an AI disease and won't be having it with this pregnancy until I'm in the 2nd trimester, but that's only because it causes my condition to flare and I want as little immflamation as possible during the first 12 weeks! Last time round it was so new I spent ages thinking about it, but figured we've had 3 years of babies having being born now so must be fine 🙂

justlonelystars · 12/12/2023 18:42

Hi everyone! Found out today I’m pregnant with my (hopefully) 2nd DC! Due 20th august!
Is there a Facebook group set up yet? I’m rubbish at checking MN
