Kalodin · 20/10/2023 09:51

Thank you! We are getting through these so quickly aren't we!

My Director just treated us all to bacon rolls for breakfast to warm us up from all this heavy rain, very welcomed

Matildahoney · 20/10/2023 09:51

@Mummyme87 I had mine yesterday so I feel your pain! Now waiting on results and potentially a growth scan 🙄

Matildahoney · 20/10/2023 09:52

@Kalodin I've just seen the due Oct page pop up and they're only on thread 9, so we're doing well 🤣

Nice treat for a Friday morning! I had Weetabix, on my way to the hospital as my nan has just been given 24hrs 😪 could do without it selfishly! Trying not to stress!

PartRadish · 20/10/2023 09:58

Just had the first bloods for my GTT. They did 28 week bloods too and I passed out. The poor bloods lady had to pull the alarm and Dr's and midwives all came running. So embarrassing 🙈

Had the drink and back in the waiting room now but I keep seeing heads pop round doors to look at me quickly and presumably check I'm still upright 😆

Mummyme87 · 20/10/2023 10:01

@PartRadish hopefully you’ll be okay for second set of bloods. I’m over an hour in 🥱

Luhou · 20/10/2023 10:06

@Matildahoney thinking of you.

@PartRadish oh no, hope you're okay and rest of your appointment goes well.

Matildahoney · 20/10/2023 10:20

Thank you all.

Good luck with your gtt test those that are having it x

Whataretheodds · 20/10/2023 10:26

Hi all, I'm due right at the end of Jan so just 25w this week.

Still trying to clear space at home to make room for baby things (which I haven't bought yet though I have a list).

Feel like I am massively overturning- "let's get a big chest of drawers here" "will a chest of drawers be safe once baby is crawling? Or should we get a cupboard that we can put locks on"?

The only thing i thought would feel straightforward was babygros and muslins but I haven't taken the plunge on those either!

sashastuck · 20/10/2023 11:05

Thanks for the new thread @PartRadish

@Matildahoney sorry to hear about your nan. Not the news or stress you need at this time ❤️

@Mummyme87 hope all is going well!!

Redpanda21 · 20/10/2023 11:10

Thanks @PartRadish

@Matildahoney sending you hugs

Mummyme87 · 20/10/2023 11:33

GTT all done. A couple of fainters today in my clinic @PartRadish I had to have blood from back of my hand today, not fun.

off to the baby show at Olympia on my own, just a quick look around as got to do school run later. Was a last minute decision, got a complimentary ticket again from a small business on insta.

HopeAndStrength · 20/10/2023 11:46

Thanks for the new thread, just placemarking

WitcheryDivine · 20/10/2023 13:10

I'm really sorry @Matildahoney what a hard time xxx

@PartRadish how are you feeling now? I was ok during my GTT but after I was "released" nearly fainted in the street!! Had to get DH to collect me.

Mummyme87 · 20/10/2023 13:46

Quick whiz round the baby show. Bugaboo fox3 is £549 in the next 7 days if I quite the baby show so will probably get that. Got a changing bag with 20% off, and new crib mattress.
dashing home now for school run!

PartRadish · 20/10/2023 13:53

@WitcheryDivine Ah that's kind of reassuring to know (in the nicest way possible!) because I was okay during, after the initial wobble, but not long after I left and had eaten I felt really sick and had palpitations, thought I was going to faint again but it passed eventually. Have you had your results yet? Wondering if it's a good or bad sign now 🙈

@Mummyme87 That's a great price for the Fox3!

OP posts:
WitcheryDivine · 20/10/2023 14:05

My results were completely normal.

I did wonder whether it was as much the not being allowed to drink much water for those couple of hours as it was the sugar! If I had to do it again I think I'd bring a sandwich and have it straight after and basically hang around in the waiting room for half an hour after.

Onedayatatime24 · 20/10/2023 14:15

Hope those doing their GTT are all okay! I got my results yesterday and all normal thankfully.

Been reading up on birth options (thanks for the info @Mummyme87, gave me a good kick up the arse to actually think about it 😂) and think I'm going to see if I can give birth in the MLU. Only risk factor is high BMI but I'm otherwise having an uncomplicated pregnancy so hopefully they'll let me if all remains as is! Got appointment with the consultant next week so will ask then.

Also read into pain relief, think I want to try and avoid it if I can. Want to be able to move around so epidural not great, and have read the injections can have an effect on baby. Probably being super naive here to be fair. And also will go for some pain relief if I really need it so not ruling it out completely. Anyone else been thinking about this?

Lilothblos · 20/10/2023 14:25

@mushroo thanks so much for the Lovall leggings recommendation! I’d ordered a pair of fleece lined Seraphine ones for £39 for winter dog walks but they’re pretty thin for the price, so ordered the Lovall winter leggings for £28 and wow they’re so thick and cosy! Miles better than Seraphine and cheaper! 😊
