Hi all. Im finally back home and as a married woman now 😁. Sorry but didn't have a chance to pop in and it's so much to read back. Didn't have a break for the 10 days i was over there. Seeing my now husband the first time after we found out im pregnant was great but leaving without him was harder than I thought, well probably hormones not helping either and that we got married just a few days before i left.
But at least i got baby clothes and other stuff home with me so just sorting these out now.

@Matildahoney so sorry about your nan.

@Dannic2018 don't get scared or worried when you get bruises from the injections, it's ok. I've done these injections with my last pregnancy and now with this one for the whole pregnancy. There's times when my belly is full of bruises 😔

Mummyme87 · 20/10/2023 23:02

@Luhou thabks! Was wondering when Tu would have sale on clothes again

Lightningrain · 21/10/2023 06:01

@Matildahoney so sorry to hear about your Nan. Hope you’re doing ok.

I spent an afternoon and evening in triage too this week following reduced movements and then raised blood pressure. All ok in the end apart from a UTI which I’ve been given antibiotics for. I was told to pack a few bits in case I was kept overnight so it’s given me a nudge to get things bought for my hospital bag this weekend!

I’ve also woken up with an irritated throat today so I’m really hoping I haven’t got a cold coming on, I wouldn’t be surprised as I’m still existing on little sleep and I know a few people who’ve been poorly recently.

I started a very rough birth preferences sheet last week but need to do some more research, I’m quite open to whatever I need at the time in terms of pain relief but I do like to feel prepared and it’ll put my mind at ease if I already have decent knowledge of whats being suggested and why.

buckingmad · 21/10/2023 07:33

got the train back from King’s Cross to York at 11 yesterday. Should have been at york for 1 ready for my anti d jab at 2. I got into york at 5:40. We got stuck at Grantham due to “flooding”. It was a puddle. Absolutely ridiculous. The train ran out of food and drink about 3 hours in.

My hips and back are in agony today after being sat on that train for 6.5 hours. Oh and had to rearrange my anti d appointment for Monday. The whole reason I cut my time with my family short and I missed it anyway!

PartRadish · 21/10/2023 08:47

@matildahoney So sorry for your loss x

@buckingmad that’s annoying, especially if you could have had the whole weekend with family!

we are going to Oxford street John Lewis today, in the rain, with the kids 😖 I just want DH to double check on prams before I go ahead and buy the bugaboo and that’s a decent size JL.

we’re driving up to Northumberland on Thursday for a few days for my grandmas 90th birthday party, looking forward to seeing family again

Dannic2018 · 21/10/2023 09:36

@LittleAlien24 thank you. I’ve only had two so far and my hubby is doing them in my hip fat, it’s the liquid that stings not the needle for me but I think because it’s for another 17 weeks I’m sure to be fed up. That’s such a long time for you to be having to do it bless you 😞.

@Mummyme87 I love Northumberland but I bet it’s such a long drive. We live in County Durham now but used to live in Gloucester so I know the long drive is a pain.

Well on house renovations I think I can see the light now. I was priming and painting the skirting boards yesterday for 3 rooms so my body is hurting but I just need it done now. Our room is full of baby stuff including a travel system and stroller plus the next to me crib and Moses basket so I’m officially over the mess in every room now!

On the talk of pain relief I had pethidine with my ds as I’d been awake for 2 days so wanted to try and sleep. Unfortunately big mistake for me as it didn’t agree with me and I was projectile vomiting despite having the anti sickness injection too, the only one that stopped me being sick was a one they give to people going through cancer treatment, so I’ll just go back to having gas and air I think this time 😩

Mummyme87 · 21/10/2023 10:29

@Dannic2018 I hallucinated really badly first time I had pethidine, was horrible. Second time I was able to sleep for an hour standing up. Ondansetron is the one you will have had for sickness, I hadn’t realised until talking to my sister that it was usually only used for oncology patients, we give it first line routinely 😬😬
we also give oral morphine now aswell for pain relief and can send women home after having it which is a good option, albeit it’s a super low dose.

Think I’ve broken my little toe, kicked the wall yesterday. It’s very sore and blue today, walking is even more of a challenge than it was!!

Ttcdcno1 · 21/10/2023 10:31

Thanks for the tag! Marking my place x

Vikki7 · 21/10/2023 10:40

Checking in :-) thanks for the tag

LittleAlien24 · 21/10/2023 11:49

@Dannic2018 yup same here about the liquid stinging. It is a long time yet im not getting used to them 😔

We hopefully kicking in with renovations in the next week or 2. Have to contact electrician on monday for the quote to rewire the whole house. Gonna be "fun". Need to chisel the walls for tubes and wires so it's going to be super dusty and messy. Have to move stuff from room to room to do it. Trying only to think that the quicker we get it done the quicker i can get back to ireland so our whole family can be together again.

Mummyme87 · 21/10/2023 14:20

Also on the fragmin/clexane injections, the liquid spreading and stinging is the worst part. I only had to take them post delivery for 6weeks after both births and 10days after ectopic but gave up very quickly. Hated them

Mummyme87 · 21/10/2023 16:15

@buckingmad probably good you did travel home yesterday. King’s Cross closed now due to over crowding, LNER advised against travel until next week.

back from London, jeepers I’m broken, with broken toe and dodgy pelvis, whilst feeling like my arse is about to fall out 🥴🥴 however I’m glad we didn’t get the bugaboo yesterday, I’ve gone off it. It’s just going to be too big for us. I wish the dragonfly was cheaper as that would be great but not spending that much when it’s last baby.
we are looking at a smaller more compact pram, possibly a BabyZen Yo-yo, downside to this is not parent facing after you move from bassinet. The UPPAbaby Minu with bassinet was also a possibility but same issue. Not sure of any compact parent facers that aren’t over 700

Luhou · 21/10/2023 17:19

Feeling crap today. Full of cold and cough, feeling sorry for myself.

FirstT1meMum · 21/10/2023 18:04

@Luhou I've been suffering all week, never suffered so badly with a cold!! You have my sympathy!

We've spent a good hour and half today sorting through some of little ones things now all her nursery furniture is built and organising clothes by sizes ready to be washed! Ahh can't believe it won't be long until we're in singe figure weeks to go!

Kalodin · 21/10/2023 19:13

Really surprised at just how much milk my boobs have, today it feels like my milks come in or something, I gently hand expressed each side for only a minute because they felt so uncomfortable and I got just shy of 100mls off them... like wtf?! Haven't breastfed for 7 months!

@Luhou and @FirstT1meMum definitely this time of year isn't it, been all full of cold here too.

Hope you can rest up this evening @Mummyme87 ?

On the Pethidine talk.... I actually bloody loved it the 2 times I've had it and shall be requesting it again if I need a break 😂 the doctor warned me that it can make some women feel awful but she explained that if I just relax and let it take control, go with the flow, then I will feel much better... blimey I felt amazing... chatted some absolute shit and have a hilarious video of me (thanks mum!)

Luhou · 21/10/2023 19:25

Thanks for the solidarity @FirstT1meMum and @Kalodin. I feel absolutely atrocious.

Everyone seems so organised! I did buy some bibs today if that counts 🤣

PartRadish · 21/10/2023 19:38

@Kalodin I loved it too! I was in labour with DS2 on New Years Eve, spent a good chunk of it on the phone to my drunk best friend chatting absolute shite at each other. I was gutted when I had DS3 and was told I wasn't allowed any because of his gestation!

Pethedine really didn’t agree with me. I felt so spaced out and then didn’t feel like I could move without falling over.

Im going with tens machine and gas and air this time round. I’m hopeful I can get in the water too.

Salamander91 · 21/10/2023 23:47

I can't believe we're on thread 8 already!

Sorry to hear about your nan @Matildahoney

RG9895 · 22/10/2023 08:32

Ahh I found it! I thought there might have been a new thread! Looking for reassurance if possible 😔

Last night when I wiped it was a little bit pink and then I wiped again and was a dot of blood when I say dot it was probably the actual size of this 🩸 on the tissue so not a lot at all. I called MAU and they said this can be normal and nothing to worry about unless its very heavy like a period. Thankfully I've been toilet many more times and not had nothing else touch wood. Has anyone else has this? I'm still a bit worried! I think I may have over done it yesterday with a lot of walking/shopping and doing the house work so today I've banished myself to bed!

Hope you are all doing okay! 💕

sashastuck · 22/10/2023 08:34

Congratulations @LittleAlien24 !

I had no idea what pethidine was so it’s been really useful to read your experiences. My mum was a midwife for most of my childhood and she’s recommend a tens machine so a tens machine I shall try! Although @Mummyme87 the oral morphine sounds like a decent idea. I know labour is more intense than most things but I respond quite well to painkillers, when I was in triage for a UTI a couple of weeks ago, I went from thinking I might be in early labour (lol) to absolutely pain free from 2 paracetamol 😂

@Matildahoney sorry again about your nan xx

sashastuck · 22/10/2023 08:36

@RG9895 only time I’ve had this, it was a UTI - was already in hospital by the time the blood came though due to the pain that came with it - have you had no other symptoms? If not, I wouldn't be worried x

LittleAlien24 · 22/10/2023 10:05

Hope you feeling better today @Luhou

Thank you @sashastuck

I've last load of baby clothes washed and drying. Rest of the 0-3 months are sorted and ready to go on shelves. Have to sort out 3-6 months and wait for Christmas when DH comes home with rest of the baby clothes lol gonna get the list for hospital done and start packing this in next week or 2 😁

PartRadish · 22/10/2023 10:27

@RG9895 When I about 29/30 weeks with my eldest I had some spotting that sounds very similar. Just a few drops on wiping. It was the evening of my sisters wedding so I think it was from overdoing it. It didn't happen again. Hopefully it's the same for you. Feet up today if possible!
