@Matildahoney @Mummyme87 thank you both! It's not nice so I feel for you, hope you're both ok!! Xx

Onedayatatime24 · 23/10/2023 12:55

I'm 28+1 today and also still have super active and then quiet days! He tends to be way more active at the weekend, then more quiet in the week when I'm sat at work for some reason. As long as he moves every few hours then I usually think he's okay. He always has a good kick and roll around as soon as I get in bed too, but other than that, times vary.

suz2285 · 23/10/2023 12:57

@sashastuck I also think when he's having a growth spurt he isn't so active!

I'm still having mostly active days but some quieter days where I still feel taps/movement but it's not the huge kicks! It is worrying but I'm glad everyone else is feeling the same! ❤️

WitcheryDivine · 23/10/2023 13:05

I think we're mostly in the same boat with movements. I'm also 29+5 and some days there are loads and it's really reassuring, others (probably more) there's not a lot, maybe some in the early morning, a few bits in the afternoon if we're lucky and then usually later on like 9pm. Often I feel at about 8pm that I haven't really felt movements for 12 hours and that's scary, but I think that is partly because I just find it really hard to feel them (unless massive movements) when I'm walking around, or even sitting in an office chair.

Lightningrain · 23/10/2023 13:14

I’m still not feeling loads of movements either but I have an anterior placenta. The midwife was adamant that I wasn’t to automatically assume that’s the reason though and to call triage if I’m unsure or worried. I ended up going in last week and all was fine but they said I was right to call.

I’ve woken up with an awful cold today and feeling rubbish. I’ve been struggling to breathe walking up the stairs normally so it’s extra hard today!

Kalodin · 23/10/2023 13:21

Baby is so active here, definitely in a pattern too, but then this is baby number 4 and I'm counting a pattern more in a response to when I do things.

I'm also hoping for some advice... I'm really bloody achey in what feels like should be my cervix area. Idk if it's just lightening crotch and I'm being overly worried for nothing, but keep imagining my cervix dilating and tearing through my stitch even though I'm having no contractions (just Braxton hicks). I don't want to go into triage and waste time.

PartRadish · 23/10/2023 14:32

@Kalodin I'm having exactly this too! I spent most of Friday Googling 'symptoms of cerclage tearing' 🙈 General consensus was that in the absence of spotting it usually is just lightening crotch but is a bit extra uncomfortable/noticeable with a stitch in. If you're worried definitely give a triage a call though, that's what they're there for.

Kalodin · 23/10/2023 14:35

Ah I appreciate this @PartRadish thank you! No bleeding just feeling uncomfortable and all anxious. Very aware that it feels like baby is super low too

Kalodin · 23/10/2023 16:14

Ended up heading into triage as its feeling awful down there. Surprised they've hooked me up to this at only 26 weeks?

Mushroo · 23/10/2023 16:27

@Kalodin dont freak out if it doesn’t turn green as it’s supposed to. They used it on me at 27 weeks, and I didn’t get the green light both times.

The doctor had a look and everything was in range and fine, but it can be inaccurate using it so early.

WitcheryDivine · 23/10/2023 16:28

Hope it's all good results at the hospital @Kalodin

PartRadish · 23/10/2023 16:29

I was surprised when I was put on the monitor last week too, it used to be from 28 weeks at our trust, they have had fancy new machines though so I assume l assumed that was why maybe.

Are they braxton hicks being picked up on the bottom trace?

OP posts:
Kalodin · 23/10/2023 16:31

I'm not entirely sure, they feel like braxton hicks. Midwife was sort of freaking out about them and has called a Dr

lucya66 · 23/10/2023 16:32

@Kalodin good luck I hope you get answers soon.

Mummyme87 · 23/10/2023 16:34

National guidelines have changed to 26weeks for CTG albeit it’s very early and there is no official interpretation for a baby of this gestation hence why it often ‘doesn’t meet the criteria’, but will be reassured with the STV (short term variability) being above 5. It’s mainly helpful for growth restricted babies at these gestations.

got a physio appt through for 24th November 🥴

so many tightenings a when I walk, really uncomfortable. And PGP so nasty now feels like my bum and cervix is falling out. Grim

WitcheryDivine · 23/10/2023 16:39

Urgh @Mummyme87 that sounds so painful!!! Sorry you're having to wait so long. I keep being directed to "online resources" for my lower back/pelvic pain which I must say is as much use as a chocolate teapot. Are you still having to be on your feet all day at work?

Sounds so dramatic btw with midwife going into labour at work!!!

Luhou · 23/10/2023 16:50

@Kalodin I've been in before when I was pregnant with DD, had toco scrore of 35ish, worried too but just normal braxton hicks. I'd actually just gone in for reduced movement. All was fine. Eventually they measured my cervix and confirmed it was all fine and no reason to think labour was iminent.

Luhou · 23/10/2023 16:51

@Mummyme87 sympathies regarding PGP. I also feel like cervix is crumbled and everything fallen out. Cold and cough not helping. Been a long day at work today, hence me spending the last 10mins of the day on mumsnet 🤣

Kalodin · 23/10/2023 17:34

Pre term test came back negative 👏 so they're not taking stitch out, as they feared they may need to. But they're keeping me in because I am having a lot of uterine activity and want to give me steroids "just in case"

Hummusanddipdip · 23/10/2023 17:42

Hopefully all precautions work out and you get to go home soon @Kalodin

I don't know whats wrong with me but my throat feels thick and mucusy, there isn't anything there, so I assume I've caught a cold/virus... Great for half term although expected as I've been running on adrenaline for the past 2 weeks.

Ds's been ill and mum spent a week in hospital after collapsing (she's OK, got to have some test and possible brain surgery) and then to top it off this weekend I was told our dog has got a pronounced heart murmur that could indicate heart disease, the vet also thinks he has kidney issues. They can look into it, but at 17 years old there isn't a lot they can do... I guess dh and I need to have a serious chat about his quality of life and if it would be kinder to say goodbye, but he's our first baby, the thought is breaking me.

I really hope there isn't further bad news coming... they say it comes in 3s.

Got first growth scan and a consultant appt tomorrow, I hope there isn't anything bad coming from those!!!!

buckingmad · 23/10/2023 18:05

Still no word on my growth scan which is rubbish considering it was a week ago yesterday I was told my bump is under 3rd centile. I had my anti d today so asked for an update and was just told they’re busy. As long as I know I’m on the list I suppose that will just have to do but I am tempted to go private for the peace of mind.

PartRadish · 23/10/2023 18:07

@Kalodin Glad FFN was negative but also glad to hear they're taking it seriously anyway and giving steroids. Hopefully just irritable uterus/braxton hicks. Will keep everything crossed that it settles down soon and you can get home.

OP posts:
Mummyme87 · 23/10/2023 19:57

Good news FFN or partosure whichever they use was negative, we don’t use it but I know it is better for predicting not going into labour.

@WitcheryDivine still long days on labour ward all the way through to 35wks, after tomorrow I’ll be off for a week to travel up north then only 6weeks left of work. The physio will likely be able to do bugger all for me, but I have to play the game in case I go off sick with pelvic pain

Matildahoney · 23/10/2023 20:27

@lilluce95 saw my chiropractor, she made some adjustments, she said it's specifically SPD from where my pain is, she has given me a couple of things I can do to ease/reset it, and told me not to hoover, push a trolley or mow the lawn!
You're not in Hampshire are you or I'd recommend her, but she is a McTimoney chiropractor & specialises in pregnancy. I've known her over 20 years so know she's not just out to make money like a lot of people.

Lilothblos · 23/10/2023 21:12

@Hummusanddipdip sounds like you’re having a horrible week, and so sorry to hear about your dog, that must be so hard especially as you’ve had him so long.
