@Luhou i think that’s fine! It’s fairly rare you’d say the whole name anyway.

We got 3 syllables, 2 syllables, 2 syllables.

e.g Harriet Mary Thompson (completely made up name). We’re not telling anyone our choice until she’s here.

RG9895 · 22/11/2023 18:15

Our name is 2, 4, 1 syllables my own name is 1, 4, 3, 1. Agreed very rare to say the full name!

We also aren't sharing until she is here but been set on the name forever!

Salamander91 · 22/11/2023 18:15

We have two middle names so will be 2-2-1-3 syllables. I don't think it matters. It's not often people will use the full name anyway.

Salamander91 · 22/11/2023 18:16

Our wee ones first name is known by everyone because our children helped us choose and they can't keep a secret 😂 the middle names aren't known by anyone yet.

Dannic2018 · 22/11/2023 18:29

Well with all the stress I’ve been under with my son I’ve brought my maternity leave forward as work really encouraged me for my own sanity. So now have 2 weeks from next week left 😬 I’ll be 37 weeks on my last day then I get to have the week before Xmas break up on my own each day for a few hours while ds is at nursery. Gosh it’s so scary that we could potentially have baby’s so soon 😳

PartRadish · 22/11/2023 18:33

Two middle names here this time. Two of ours have one middle name and one has two so I like that we're evening it up.

Syllables including surname will be: 4-3-2-2

Others are 2-2-2, 2-3-2-2 and 2-2-2. So she has the longest name of the four of them. Her name easily breaks up into a choice of two shortenings though and both of those are 2 syllables each, think for example 'Annabella' (not the actual name) so I suspect it'll naturally be shortened to Anna or Bella.

I hope that all made sense 😆

@Dannic2018 that will be good to have some time on your own before Christmas. I’ve got 2.5weeks left, 6 shifts. Can’t bloody wait.

my two kids names syllable wise are 4-2-1 and 3-2-1. This was doesn’t have a name yet but looking at my list will be likely 2-2-1

Luhou · 22/11/2023 18:43

Thanks ladies you've given me some reassurance that my name isn't ridiculously long!

WitcheryDivine · 22/11/2023 18:44

Looks like I'm the only one that hasn't sorted names yet! Partly of course because we don't know whether the baby is a boy or a girl. We have a long surname though so drawn to the shorter one or two syllable first names. I don't think it really matters if the middle names are longer!

TunnocksTCake · 22/11/2023 18:44

@Luhou that's not too long I don't think, our first DD is 3-2-1-2 , baby will be either 2 or 3 for first then 2-2 middle last.

We rarely say all of dds names. We can't decide if the baby will be offended if he only had one middle name when DD has 2!! We had a second middle name lined up but it was too much and I think in balance the right first name is more important!

We are also keeping it secret til he's here and did the same with DD, but then we also haven't actually decided yet 😂 went into hospital with 5 choices for DD, this time will be 2 I think.

Mummyme87 · 22/11/2023 18:44

Omg my itchy hands have really gone mental today, and my feet. Bloods have been checked every 2weeks since 24weeks and been fine but it’s never been this bad, I want to claw them off.

tinyracoon · 22/11/2023 18:47

@Dannic2018 @Mummyme87 I have three weeks left, can't wait! I don't have a physical job but it's quite stressful so I'm looking forward to having a few weeks to wind down and distress before baby arrives... well I was until my sister called me to tell me she'd booked to come over to stay for ten days over Christmas with her two dogs, without asking 😭 I feel so mean but I was so looking forward to some quiet time to decompress

Lightningrain · 22/11/2023 18:58

We haven’t got a name yet either. We seem to be struggling on girls names but have a shortlist for boys that we’re both fairly happy with.

When we’ve discussed girls names we seem to be of the opinion that they fall into two brackets - either classic/traditional (and we know people our own age with most of those names) or names that have become really popular in recent years and we feel like we’ve heard them everywhere on children and/or dogs. We don’t really like most of the names that end in the ‘ie’ sound either so it’s not easy!

We haven’t told anyone our shortlist so far and MIL is a teacher so we’ve avoided name discussions with her as much as possible!

I’m hoping when baby is here that we suddenly agree on a name but we definitely need to have some further discussions.

I’m feeling queasy again this evening. I seem to have gone back to first trimester food preferences and I’m only wanting cold food and fruit. I’ve gone off meat again and I usually love spice but have been avoiding due to heartburn. I can’t wait to enjoy food again.

Hummusanddipdip · 22/11/2023 19:45

We still don't have a name. Ds has the only boys name dh and I could agree on 🤦‍♀️ and we genuinely can't find a name we both like. And working in a school adds to the difficulty 🤣

Ds suggestion Elliot which is cute, but neither of us love it enough for a first name, so maybe a middle. Syllable wise it'll be who knows 🤣-3-2 which depending what first name we choose, will be fairly short I guess?

I didn't sleep last night thanks to heartburn, today's scan showed he's got a full head of hair (I didn't realise a scan would show that) so the old wives tale is proven correct again 🤣

TunnocksTCake · 22/11/2023 21:26

I just weighed myself for the first time in nearly 3 weeks and I haven't gain anything - is this cause for concern? I feel like I'm getting bigger each week and diet hasn't changed much tho I guess I can physically fit less in...?

AshleyCali2Uk · 22/11/2023 21:31

@TunnocksTCake you know same! I've always gained weight in my previous pregnancies but this one I'm so slim. My Husband keeps telling me "you look like you've lost weight" however my bloods are good the baby is gaining weight as she should so I'm happy.

AshleyCali2Uk · 22/11/2023 21:31

Can anyone help me with the abbreviations used on this. Thank you ☺️

@PartRadish Thank You !!!!☺️

LittleAlien24 · 22/11/2023 23:47

Haven't been in here for a while. Tried to read back but it's a lot. Hope everyone feeling well and if not then speedy recovery.
@Kalodin she's absolutely gorgeous, glad to hear she's doing better

Almost Every time when i sit down our builders call me so haven't had much time to do anything. Been cleaning and helping so by the time they gone and I've had my dinner i fall asleep. They are meant to finish on Saturday but i can't see that happening plus after that it's 4 weeks for the ceiling. Im just hoping that at least when electricity and all this is done i can wash his clothes again while they doing the ceiling. It's mentally really tiring, have been crying quite few times.

About names. We have few what we like but haven't fully decided yet. Will look at him when he's born and see then 😁 somehow me and husband both think he'll be early, around Christmas.

lucya66 · 23/11/2023 07:26

I think mine will be early, just after Christmas. I am manifesting that as technically I’m due 31/12/23 so who knows. I

We’ve chosen the name Sylvie for our little girl already. Been calling it her for months. I love it.

buckingmad · 23/11/2023 07:55

Another convinced they’ll come early. DD I had early labour signs from 38 weeks and waters broke at 39.

Im booked in for a sweep at 39 which is 02/01. They wanted me to go for one at 38 but that’s Boxing Day! So I politely declined 😂 Boxing Day is a day for pjs and non stop snacking.

We’re 99% set on her name, Clementine. Middle name DH isn’t bothered by so I’d like Margot. I’d love Margot as her first name but DH and his family are from Yorkshire and it sounds awful in their accent. This way I still get it but they never have to say it 😂.

LittleAlien24 · 23/11/2023 08:20

@buckingmad you going for a sweep on my birthday 😁

suz2285 · 23/11/2023 08:56

Aww some of the names on here are so nice! Think we've got our name but not telling anyone till he's here as we had a nightmare trying to find a boys name DH didn't hate 😂 we've got 3 on a list so incase we have another we can maybe use one of those!

We actually got the name from a lady at the reception in my grannies care home, it's a fairly common name in some places but haven't seen it on any lists and I hadn't seen it while doing my searches online! 🤞 I also look up how common they are on the registers before suggesting them 😂

Anyone had covid recently? It's going about the office, along with various bugs but the last couple of days me and DH both felt rubbish, I've got an upset stomach this morning and was awake a lot last night feeling nausea... covid test is negative currently, working at home rest of the week, I just hate being sick and obv worry about baby if it is something worse than just an upset tummy!

I also hope it's not that bug some of you have had since I'm petrified of actual sickness 🙈

Also we have our one and only in person class on sat that I've paid for so I really want to be able to go to that!!

Luhou · 23/11/2023 09:13

@LittleAlien24 I feel for you with the building work. We are currrntly in a plastery mess with our kitchen. Which is due to be delivered mid December.

Love all the names, so cute.

Anybody else getting braxton hicks really regularly like at least twice a day, everyday. Should I be worried this will mean he's early?
