Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Had my Midwife appointment today 38+2 and baby is 3/5 engaged! first time he has been engaged, I know he could still bob in and out but it's exciting he has made his way down and is in a good position for Labour!

ttcttc · 05/10/2023 17:30

For anyone still expecting.. are your movements getting a bit uncomfortable? Baby must be getting big but seems to get their feet under my right ribs. 🙉😬

New2thisss · 05/10/2023 17:31

Third sweep at 39+5, and I’m 3-4cm dilated 🥳!! MW reckons we will have a due date baby if not before, fingers crossed!! Still doesn’t feel real that I could have a baby here very soon 😳

doeandfawn · 05/10/2023 18:08

@ttcttc definitely, he’s still sitting really high but obviously running out of room. Got a scan tomorrow (36+4) to see if he’s still off the scale and whether we’re moving section forward.

ttcttc · 05/10/2023 18:43

@doeandfawn how but do they think he is? I'm measuring ok, I'm 38 week on sat and still high x

ttcttc · 05/10/2023 18:44

*big

doeandfawn · 05/10/2023 18:47

@ttcttc Last scan he was above 99th percentile. I’m assuming all good and we’ll make it to 39 weeks but shall see!

ttcttc · 05/10/2023 18:49

Ah right. I'm on 50th which I worried was small but midwife says not. Are you looking "big" because it's not an exact science you might be ok 🤞🏼

doeandfawn · 05/10/2023 19:08

I’m actually measuring small so we were really surprised he was measuring large! Won’t complain about extra scans though haha.

ttcttc · 05/10/2023 19:09

@doeandfawn that's bizarre if you're looking small where are these big measurements from. Have they confirmed big on scan or just off measuring you? I think you might be ok, live in hope lol

NSx · 05/10/2023 19:48

@ttcttc @doeandfawn i have been on the 50th centile all along … still am… I’m 37+1 … went for a scan yesterday to be told they think the baby weighs approx 7lbs 2 oz at the minute.

is my baby going to be huge 😂😂😂😂 …

also to those I was speaking to, baby is not breech 👏🏼✨✨✨

OP posts:
ttcttc · 05/10/2023 20:18

@NSx I think we're similar. I was about 6lb6 week and a half ago and they gain half a pound every week on average so think I'm heading for an 8lb-er 😬

What was your scan for, just to check they weren't breach (great news!)

NSx · 05/10/2023 20:32

@ttcttc yea it was a positioning scan and obvs just did a growth scan whilst there as I haven’t had any at all.

oh that terrifies me 😂😂😂😂 I’ve heard it’s not very accurate but I’m actually scared 😅😂😅😂

OP posts:
ttcttc · 05/10/2023 20:57

@NSx fab news that baby isn't breach at least. Don't be scared, you'll be fine!!

BeaKind · 05/10/2023 21:08

@ttcttc yes with the movements. I also feel little hands in my hips sometimes.

NSx · 05/10/2023 21:09

@ttcttc I know, I’m super relieved regarding the positioning, thank goodness 🤍

I’m trying not to be scared 😂😂 will see how it goes 😅

@New2thisss also 39+5 I can’t believe you’ve had 3 sweeps already and I won’t be offered one until 40 weeks bang on -
mad how all trusts are so different! Have you had any other signs at all or do you only know this because of the midwives’ examinations?

New2thisss · 05/10/2023 22:55

@Esl17 it’s crazy how each trust differs!

I had my first at 39 weeks, and have been progressing well since! I lost my mucous plug last night/ most of today and been having period pains/ back ache this evening but other than that I’ve had nothing - I am hoping this is the start of labour.
My MW was surprised that I haven’t had any other symptoms considering I’ve dilated to 3/4cm! 🤣

Esl17 · 05/10/2023 23:00

@New2thisss sounds like it well could be 🤞🏻 good luck! Xx

Phoenixwings1989 · 06/10/2023 01:00

I'm booked in for my C-section tomorrow and I'm feeling so nervous. Primarily because I'm dreading leaving DD who is 3 and will be staying with MIL but also the prospect of repeating a c-section again again and recovering.

I will be glad, however to not have searing rib pain the minute I start walking anywhere or to have the extra weight.

Congratulations to those of you who have welcomed babies 😊

thecatsthecats · 06/10/2023 01:26

I've been given the go ahead to start sweeps next week when I'll be 37+5!

Mind you I have properly got a bump drop going on by now. I can literally feel that his usual movements are 4-6" lower on my torso than usual - he's out of range o my ribs and behind my (anterior) placenta now. My upper stomach feels very soft compared to even a few days back... eep.

Ss32 · 06/10/2023 01:54

@Phoenixwings1989 if it hells, I have an almost 3 year old and she was an emergency section, I had an elective section on Tuesday and the recovery has been so much easier! Obviously there is still pain, don’t get me wrong but the difference has been huge

GemmaJen · 06/10/2023 06:03

@peonygirl @hipposinacirclenot long now till the 18th!

I'm hoping I make it to the section date, but think things might happen sooner , though I could be wrong. The regular Bh/tightenings have been going all night, been trying to get some sleep but they're getting slightly uncomfortable. Usually BH stop when I lie down, so it's unsual for me. Wide awake now, so think I might go get on with some more work handover, just in case 🙈😂 My first thought last weekend when I was sent to labour ward was 'oh crap still haven't told my boss about xy and z, I'm not ready!'

Koalawhala · 06/10/2023 07:09

Good luck today @Phoenixwings1989! I hope your c section and recovery are really positive. It’s so tough leaving little ones but try to make the most of your recovery time in hospital, and being looked after 24/7. I’m sure it will go fast and you’ll be home as a family before you know it

Phoenixwings1989 · 06/10/2023 08:19

Thank you @Ss32 and @Koalawhala

When I had DD it was an elective same as this time due to medical trauma I had in my teens due to being abused. I can only imagine the difference between emergency and planned though.

Feeling so nervous and heartburn is raging despite taking the prescribed meds I received at my pre op appointment. I was awake every half hour because of acid reflux during the night.
